I love the second one most. I actually followed the tutorial for the one you did 4 years ago and painted my own as I was learning how to do water color. I have a lot of anxiety and I found it freeing to have less control and let the water color be loose and bleed.
I like the original, the flowers are found yet get lost in such an organic way it’s stunning for a loose painting. Most loose paintings kinda end up all blending together, and few stand out as just simple, yet nice, and calm.
Wow! All three are absolutely lovely! The time lapse one looks more like the original one you did four years ago, but truly - all are beautiful! It’s good to see you enjoying yourself.
I remember watching you paint the first one and I love it as it helped me try new styles. Difficult to choose , but I think the last one combines all the best parts of the two styles , into one perfect picture. Maybe the last one was more instinctive? Love them all really. Thanks.
They are all beautiful! Hard to pick a favorite! I especially appreciate you teaching the little “flicks” around the tops of the petals. It looks ruffly (not a word). I’ve wondered how to do that! Thank you!
For me, everything you create is perfection, but your first creation of this particular painting is, by far, the most beautiful, because of it abstract nature. 🌷
Your comments about us being nervous of trying new things, even just painting for pleasure at home resonates with me so much. The same can be said of food, hobbies and life in general. The more we expand our experiences, the more we will get out of life. I’ve watched you for a couple of years and really enjoy your style and easy going attitude, please don’t stop! All the very best to you and yours. 😊
I am still the happy owner of your original poppy watercolor that you gifted to me years ago, Emma, and still love it. In my painting, it looks like the poppies are softly blowing in the wind. Your 2 paintings above are also very beautiful, and now you have THREE gorgeous, creative poppy paintings! 🥰
I like the last one you did the best. I think it is more ‘you’ because you just decided to go for it and were not concerned about recreating anything or trying to make it something else. It was more of a free and relaxed style and I love it!
All 3 paintings are beautiful, but my favorite is the first one. I will paint the same painting several times with different artist instructions too. I love how you are so positive and supportive to other painters watching and learning from your videos. I love painting, its become a new passion of mine.
I had never seen the first video so I went back and watched it. In that video you were trying to recreate a painting you had done on vacation. It was a great video. I think because in the first video you let the water and the paint do most of the work you saw the magic happen. Putting down water and adding paint to see what happens. It’s very inspiring. This video was definitely more instructive as to strokes and types of brushes. All three paintings plus the vacation painting were beautiful and each had elements that were my favorite. I do like the transparency of the first video painting so that was my absolute favorite. I can see your confidence in painting has grown! Wonderful video today.
Hi Emma, I saw this first painting of yours a few years ago. I loved it then and attempted to paint it. I was a beginner I fell in love with water oolour. I've had some good art and a lot of bad stuff but i am still persevering . I am 82 yrs young and watch all your Tutorials. Just love your work. I love them all but the 2nd is my favorite. Rosemary
Yes Jillian is worth watching and learning from and I also love Crystal Tan Art. They are both just inspiring and beautiful artists that I admire a lot. Of course, your art is always inspiring.
Both are absolutely gorgeous. As for painting one of these myself, I have an easier time with more structure so I would choose the first one but also try the second version.
I think the second one is real close to the original. I personally like the first one the best, BUT, I think all three are beautiful.... it is a close call. Amazing work!
They are all beautiful!! I’m very much a beginner. But, I think that’s the magic of watercolor, no two are alike, it would be so boring if they all looked the same. We live in a world where we are automated and expect everything to be perfect and the “same”! Love all your creations!!
Tried the first one many times I created pink blobs every time. Now I will start a series of more detailed pink blobs. Thanks Emma for all the terrific tutorials I am getting a bit better at water control or uncontrollable water I am having so much fun!
Love the softness of the 2nd one!! I guess my favourite. So beautiful ❤ For the little bit more realistic look, the 1st does it. Thanks Emma. I enjoyed this especially as I painted along 4 years ago 😅
Thanks Emma. I love this! I do things over again, maybe not in a different medium but certainly using different colors or paint brushes. It’s a great way to learn and grow, thanks for all you do to help on our journey!
I love them all, they are gorgeous! I am amazed that you always know what colors to add and where. The layering is what confuses me! Fantastic job Emma!
Those came out great, Emma. I like the shapes of the first one you did better (more realistic) but the colors of the time lapse one. They are all so beautiful it's hard to choose. You're so talented.
I love them all, however, it seems to me that in the first painting you did in this video, you were not as relaxed as in the second, and still it came out beautiful and with a different finish. You still my favorite inspiration. 👍
Wow, they are both amazing! I cannot wait to see what I come up with from your inspiration. The way that you talk out your thoughts while painting is such a great learning experience for me every time.
I really love the first one... perhaps because I was invested. I followed along from the beginning and learned a lot. You're a great teacher. The second one is beautiful, as is the original. Girl, I have yet to see something you do and not like it. I'm always so impressed by your talent.
I definitely like your second attempt the best. The first one is much too structured to replicate the original. But my favorite of the three is the original. The reason it is so popular is because of its watercolor magical simplicity. That’s what people love! Sometimes when we try too hard we take the magic out of the watercolor. Sometimes it’s the magic of the watercolor mixed with simplicity and knowing when to stop. I love watercolor for that reason!
Hi- I just saw this video… you were talking alot about what you call a flat brush, I am a ceramicist and I have been teaching for about 20 years- in ceramics whether painting in green ware or bisque, earthenware, stoneware or my favorite -porcelain- anyway we call the brushes a shader and the size varies depending on the size of the design. I think you do a great job with the square brush and your flowers are beautiful. Thank you and good work!!
Beautiful! All three but for different reasons. But in comparing_you have so much talent and I can tell you have grown in skill/technique since the first one! It was fun to watch you recreate these poppies. Thank you!
Well, the second one captured the essence of the original in a much better way but... the truth is I like a lot the first one you painted in this video ❤
You are SO talented and encouraging. I've learned a lot from your videos and appreciate the help. Your videos shorten the learning curve a lot. Everything, from learning most artists feel timid sometimes to how to hold the brush, you give us confidence. Thanks. All 3 paintings are great, but the last one is my favorite.
Thank you. The second one intrigues me because I have trouble painting loosely, and wetting the paper first will maybe force me to accept what’s going on and work with it. The colours you used are so cheerful and lovely. PS I liked both styles!
I was so excited to see you revisit this painting. I appreciate your courage in trying to recreate it. Trying to recreate any art is daunting, but watercolor (with a mind of its own) is especially hard! I like all versions of this painting that you have done. I absolutely adore the first painting that you did before the first video. There is a magical spontaneity in that first one. That first video has been in my "watch later" list for years. I expect that this video will be the same. As my skills improve, I get more courage to attempt this painting. Thanks so much!
I just bought Watercolour Lessons and highly recommend it for beginners, or those who rushed through the science, and now want to catch up. Great work honey. My book is for 14 yr old identical twin granddaughters with natural talent.
I just love watching you. I am pretty new at this watercolor thing. In fact I had no idea I could even draw. So much to learn. You have helped me so much. I get the subscription boxes and I love them. I have a tendency to do the the more structured detailed flowers..but I love the softer look. I just have such a hard time getting that look. I love learning different techniques. I had to stop painting for awhile and it’s so hard to get the creative juices flowing again. Watching this video is inspiring me again. Thank you thank you..
Absolutely STUNNING, I am new to watercolor and so afraid to start. Now I hurt my right wrist and well can't start yet. But I will soon!! Thank you for this... I was amazed at how beautiful the 2 new versions turned out.. The second is by fav.. but both are beautiful ♥
Both amazing the first is more structured in a looser way which is beautiful, the second is definitely more abstract and more like the original but shows progression! So can't say either one as both different I love them both for different reasons 😊❤
I like the original... which I didn't even attempt! Also, like the last! All 3 are beautiful... thank ❤️ you for sharing this Emma!!! Hugs, from a California Gramma ❤️
Hello, i think that abstract poppies was one of the first videos i saw from your chanel. I love all 3 of them, but the second is another style, wth more details, but absolutely gorgeous. The wet on wet makes the diference, i like the three of them
I loved the last one you did. It was a loose style. Thanks Emma, always enjoy your tutorials . I too have anxiety before I paint and not sure what to do about that.
They are all so beautiful! I loved seeing the third one with the wet on wet. I would have been afraid to do that with flowers! But really worked!!! Julia
Well you are amazing always! Your style has morphed into where you are know! I loved the video, I preferred the second painting, the colors were more to my fantasy colors and flowers were flowing. I have been following you for almost two 1/2 years and have learned so much! I’m aging and learning and living the trip! Thanks, Karen Dirmish Elmhurst Ill!
I'm one of the million viewers of your first one and I was so inspired I rewatched at least 10times and made 3 pretty good paintings as well! Thank you for recreating it, so now I have different options on how to approach your original masterpeice. Btw, the second one is my favorite of the two😍
I like the second painting the most. It shows more detail and it's pretty! I have been inspired by Joanne Boone Thomas who did a w/c painting of three poppies much like yours. I also will go to Jillian's channel.
I liked the third one best, it seemed to be a natural second to the original. The secnd one to my mind is lovely, thoughin danger of being overworked. Thank you Emma!❤
So beautiful! I like how you also show the paint and how you work with it. I like your words and how you share! I liked the first painting with the details! Thanks for sharing!
Looking good. FYI: poppies have 4-6 petals. California poppies have 4 petals (about 2.5 inches wide). No matter how many petals, you did a fabulous job painting your poppies! Keep on -- you grow every time you try something new. And relax
How to choose?! The first one was so fun to watch and I loved the result. Then you did the time lapse one and wow!! I love that one too! Probably better than the first one. And of course the original one is classic Emma 🩷👍🏼
Gosh it is difficult to choose a best, all three are so different even though you used the same colors. If I must!!. The first one you did in this session I think is my fave. The second today has a more relaxed attitude to it that makes it a close second. No matter what, you are always amazing!!.❤
Wow this is absolutely stunning on all 3 but I can't say I honestly have a favorite because I learned so much from all 3. Now I don't feel so much confusion on how to paint poppies. I have tried a few times but it was so loosely done my last 1st one I just painted it darker and doodled on it. It was a totally different person I watched in December tho. I really like how you were loosely painting but still have structure. Especially the 2nd one being more structured because I learned the structure of a poppy from different angles with highlights shadows and midtones. I also love how you were able to do it more loosely yet still see the structure of the poppy petals. Inspiring.!
Emma I love your work!! I have to be honest it’s annoying to hear you put yourself down and sound so unsure over and over you are amazing Just do it!! 💕
I love the abstract ones the best. The last one is great. I like the more structured too but I prefer the abstract. Maybe because I'd personally find the abstract more challenging for me.
Hi Emma! What fun paintings. I really enjoyed watching you paint!!! If I were to choose one, I'm more of a detailed person so I'd choose your first creation. But really, I appreciate the loose style as well as you did a second awesome painting. Loved watching the center bleeds when you added the black. You're such an amazing artist, Emma! Thanks for sharing! 💕😊
I love the second one most. I actually followed the tutorial for the one you did 4 years ago and painted my own as I was learning how to do water color. I have a lot of anxiety and I found it freeing to have less control and let the water color be loose and bleed.
The last one*
"oooh, I don't want to ruin it😬"
It's comments like this during your process, that make you one of those inspiration inducing artists💚
I really like the 2nd one more. It's a bit more abstract and "looser" in style which I believe captures the essence of watercolor.
I like the original, the flowers are found yet get lost in such an organic way it’s stunning for a loose painting. Most loose paintings kinda end up all blending together, and few stand out as just simple, yet nice, and calm.
They are both beautiful. No way can I pick one over the other. They are the same but different. Each beautiful. Thanks
They’re both gorgeous, but I love the second one. It captures a nice mix of the older painting and your new style.
I like all of them but my favorite is the one you did four years ago. Like someone else said, it has an ethereal quality to it, which I really love.
Another last thing.
They are both so beautiful, I'm glad I'm not taking one of them... because I couldn't choose!!!
Thanks.
This was my first tutorial for watercolour starting my art journey off and now 3.5 years later finally ready to sell my work❤
🎉🎉🥳🥳🤗🤗. Congratulations !!
@@sheilacym thank you
Well no one has brought anything yet but here’s hoping 🥰
They are all beautiful! Hard to pick a favorite! I especially appreciate you teaching the little “flicks” around the tops of the petals. It looks ruffly (not a word). I’ve wondered how to do that! Thank you!
You know why it's so popular? Because it is the most beautiful you have done. And I tried and can't do it. So so gorgeous

Love them both but I like the softness of the second one. You have most definitely evolved from four years ago.

These paintings are absolutely beautiful. I think I like the more detailed one on the left the most. Thank you so much for sharing.
I actually like all three! They each have a delightfully unique look.
Yes Jillian is worth watching and learning from and I also love Crystal Tan Art. They are both just inspiring and beautiful artists that I admire a lot. Of course, your art is always inspiring.
Yes, and Crystal Tan usually uses a flat brush.
Jillian who please?
Jillian Boon is fabulous and a great teacher. Also another favorite of mine is Debbie Walker Art.
Yes….Crystal Tan such a lovely, genuine person. 🤗
Both are absolutely gorgeous. As for painting one of these myself, I have an easier time with more structure so I would choose the first one but also try the second version.
My favorite is the original. My 2nd choice is the last one (time lapse). All are gorgeous.

Those came out great, Emma. I like the shapes of the first one you did better (more realistic) but the colors of the time lapse one. They are all so beautiful it's hard to choose. You're so talented.
I love them!! I do like the softness of the original and the last one, but they are all beautiful! Thanks for showing the different methods.
❤the first and third.....I tend to like the softer watercolors.....thanks so much!!!
super agree about krafty fox - i looove her style and making me think to start picking up my flat brush too!
I love both paintings. 😊 Each one captures something different of the flowers.
So pretty! This is actually one of my fave tutorials. Resulted in a half-decent painting near the very start of my watercolour journey. Thank you!
I love them all, however, it seems to me that in the first painting you did in this video, you were not as relaxed as in the second, and still it came out beautiful and with a different finish. You still my favorite inspiration. 👍

I love these. I love poppies but I am not really a floral painter. I think I may give this a try...really beautiful.

I love the softness of the first. Looking forward to trying this one. Thank you!!
All are lovely in different ways. Fun to see you "play" with different ways of doing things.
Well, the second one captured the essence of the original in a much better way but... the truth is I like a lot the first one you painted in this video ❤

Second one for sure. It’s softer and closer to the original one you did. Both are beautiful though. Thank you for doing the second on in the end! ❤
I just love watching you. I am pretty new at this watercolor thing. In fact I had no idea I could even draw. So much to learn. You have helped me so much. Yay! I’ve painted this so many times and I’m so excited to try again with the new tutorial!
I love those fluke paintings 🖼
Emma, this was such a walk down memory lane 🎨
Honestly, all are good and different. Love them all
Both amazing the first is more structured in a looser way which is beautiful, the second is definitely more abstract and more like the original but shows progression! So can't say either one as both different I love them both for different reasons 😊❤
Wow, I just love the different styles. I love them both-the colors are just so gorgeous. Great job!
I like the original... which I didn't even attempt! Also, like the last! All 3 are beautiful... thank ❤️ you for sharing this Emma!!! Hugs, from a California Gramma ❤️
Love them both. I am trying to combine a relaxed and realistic approach to my painting. This shows me that both are beautiful.
Really loved them both. The second one just has the edge.
Both recreations are beautiful, but for me there is something about the simplicity of the original.
Hello, i think that abstract poppies was one of the first videos i saw from your chanel. I love all 3 of them, but the second is another style, wth more details, but absolutely gorgeous. The wet on wet makes the diference, i like the three of them

I liked the third one best, it seemed to be a natural second to the original. The secnd one to my mind is lovely, thoughin danger of being overworked. Thank you Emma!❤
the last one and the first one are my favorite, I love the freedom in both of them. Beautiful, thank you :-)
So beautiful!
And relax
The second one really appeals to me since I'm detail oriented and struggle with loose watercolor painting.
Both paintings are beautiful, but I like the second one a bit better. You did a very good job on both, thanks for sharing 😊
I can't decide because I love them both. Two different, but beautiful creations. Thank you! 😊
The Sw pond one Jove it’s softness ,great video thank you😊
They’re both really nice, I prefer the second one.
They are both very beautifull. Personally I prefer the second one because it is more dreamy.
AMAZING WORKS ! My favorite the time laps !!! The two others also are very beautiful ! You are a talented artist ! !!!!!!!
How to choose?! The first one was so fun to watch and I loved the result. Then you did the time lapse one and wow!! I love that one too! Probably better than the first one. And of course the original one is classic Emma 🩷👍🏼

Inspiring.!
So hard to pick a favorite, truly amazing paintings, both of them
Love them all. Love how you create definition with the petals
Love the second one best! Both are beautiful. Thanks for showing how to do this.
Emma I love your work!! I have to be honest it’s annoying to hear you put yourself down and sound so unsure over and over you are amazing Just do it!! 💕
Ha quedado precioso. Gracias por ser tan generosa en tus explicaciones. ❤❤
Love them both - they’re quite different!!
