    I'm fully behind the club's stance to appeal against the ban. 7 ban is just too overboard!!

    I don’t think the club has embarrassed themselves I think the FA has by the length of the ban it is disproportionate compared to other players actions they aren’t appealing the offence they are appealing the length

    I’ve been saying for a long time that Son should be given contract for life. He’s an icon for us. He has given his all and deserves it should he want it. Either as an ambassador or a coach or another role that is mutually acceptable.

      I hope he would want to stay involved and is offered the chance to do so. Great club ambassador

    Not at all embarrassing appealing against the length of the ban. They acknowledged the error of Bentancur’s ways.
    However, the length of the penalty is severe overkill when coupled with the fine.

    1 game less = ~15% of the ban, not insignificant reduction. I’d say one game less is well worth going for - could make the difference between CL spot, who knows. Are the ‘optics’ that bad? We accept the punishment but think it’s too harsh a sentence, seems ok to me.

    Like you Barnaby, I've never really understood the hatred Spurs fans always throw at Tim Sherwood, for all the reasons you said yourself, and as far as I know, he's never said a bad word about the club.

    I disagree with your thoughts on the ban length, but i also understand thems the rules, that dont make it right. There are vicious players out there getting 3 match bans for deliberate physical injuries. A 7 match ban for a verbal offence is way off compared to physical damage. There needs to be a balance.

      Absolutely! I originally thought it was for literally fighting fans at Copa America. This is absurd. And for what? A sophomoric comment nobody outside of the activist class cares about, including the supposedly "offended" party?

      He was brought in to sell shirts to Koreans, and as is witnessed every home game with korean fans walking out the club shop with literal armfuls of gear he's certainly succeeded. The fact he grew into a top player is the icing on the cake. End of the day it'll be Daniel who decides if he stays- my guess is as long as the tills keep ringing Levy will keep him around.

    Whilst I agree with you to some degree in respect of the Bentancur 7 match ban. That saying I wonder if this appeal is a sop towards Bentancur and wishing to show support for him. As we know there is quite a bit of interest from other clubs in signing Bentancur. If he does not feel the club is giving him the support he expects then he may show some positivity towards these rumours. Just a thought.

  • @philspur1882
    @philspur1882 8 дней назад +1

    Spurs have every right to question Bentancur's 7 match ban when you consider that a written racist comment has a maximum 3 match ban as opposed to a spoken racist comment that has a minimum 6 match ban. In my opinion, this is absolutely ridiculous, and if nothing else, I hope that Spurs shine a light on the inequality in these two differing rulings. Racism is racism whether spoken or written, and there should be no distingusion between the two

    No, Barnaby, you are the embarrassing one. The appeal is not against his guilty verdict. The appeal is against his overly lengthy ban.
    I would have been extremely upset if the club did not appeal.

    Spurs have the right to appeal against Bentancur 7 match ban so why wouldn't you we all understand that he is guilty that's really not the point. In law on most occasions you have that opportunity!

  • @larondeb782
    @larondeb782 8 дней назад

    Sonny leaving is another devastation just like when Harry left. Can't think about it now.
    Haaland, De Bruyne, and Grealish are back and we will not win on Sat.
    The racism charge against Bentancur is a tempest in a teacup. He apologized to Sonny, his mate, and Sonny accepted that should have been the end of it. But no, they had to make it into a show and ban him for 7 games?? Ridiculous. It's locker talk and men do it all the time. Bentancur has to wise up in front of the cameras though.
    I think score will be 3-1 for City.

    We have not embarrassed ourselves the minimum ban is six games they gave him seven. He said what millions have said in a joke about Koreans, Japanese etc it's not racist and no one complained about it but the FA likes its pound of flesh. Too many woke in the youth these days many should get a life.

    Barnaby don't know what is wrong with you today it's that type of mentality why we are stuck how does Barca and RM handles Messi and Ronaldo you get the money and Benny is still a valued member we need him the club has to appeal optics is not at play if so then the club would need to get rid of him what's the difference in not applying and then still accept him back after 7 games if you are going to accept him back then your optics is out the door so you have to appeal if one less game is important

  • @ThBnnrMn
    @ThBnnrMn 8 дней назад

    All this sentimentality and is another reason why this club will remain stagnant.
    You're advocating for Son to get contract extensions on big money to be an ambassador to the club when with all due respect he hasn't achieved what he has himself has set out to achieve.
    He's been a great player and servant. Its time to move on from him use that purported money on the signings and wages of a new generation of players.
    He deserves to be alumni, to be given keys to The Stadium, but thats it

    Think you are absolutely wrong about the appeal a 7 game ban for such a small innocuous comment without any malice is completely over the top. I also understand that a lot of PL clubs also think the ban is too severe. You're being really woke on this issue.

    • @incontinentia3119
      @incontinentia3119 8 дней назад

      I'm in this spot of thinking you're one of those weirdos who throw "woke" at anything that makes you squirm and also agreeing that the ban is too harsh considering Sonny handled it.
      It was a stupid and shitty statement. Bentacur's non apology was just as idiotic. Son Heung Min is the one who salvaged it. It should have been like a 2-3 game ban.

    Totally disagree with you Barnaby. Bemtancur’s comment was in jest on the other side of the world. Nothing to do with the UK or the premier league. It was while he was on international duty. Think your view and that of the FA is much too woke.

  • @davidredshaw448
    @davidredshaw448 8 дней назад

    As a Guardian reader I try not to talk about political correctness gone mad, but if you go in with your studs up and maybe break a fellow professional's leg you'll get a red card and three games out. Coming out with a clumsy and silly racist slur for which he has apologised and Sonny has laughed off isn't anywhere near in the same league. Get your head from out your backside Barnaby.
