Definitions:
Grass Fed -
"Grass (Forage) Fed" means that grass and forage shall be the feed source consumed for the lifetime of the ruminant animal, with the exception of milk consumed prior to weaning. The diet shall be derived solely from forage consisting of grass (annual and perennial), forbs (e.g., legumes, Brassica), browse, or cereal grain crops in the vegetative (pre-grain) state. Animals cannot be fed grain or grain byproducts and must have continuous access to pasture during the growing season.

Best deal going is the Organic Grass Fed ground beef @ Aldi
Wish my aldi had that
Yeah, if they have it in stock! Most times I go they’re out of stock!
Thank you for these videos, you are my favorite person to watch when it comes to health tips and explaining things.
Thank you very much! Sorry for delay, I've been a little under the weather. I appreciate you watching and your kind words.🥰
This should have a million views
Thank you!!! Amazing compliment...🥰
Thoughts on the ground bison next to the refrigerated ground beef? Better protein to fat ratio, macros better for calorie deficit! Pretty delicious too...
I love Bison, they are excellent when watching calories and much leaner. in my opinion all ruminant animals are phenominal options for perfectly balanced complete proteins. I eat mainly venison for that reason.
Great choice my friend!
Good video! I like organic grass fed beef at Walmart! $17.69 for a 3 lb pack! I’m actually making meatloaf tonight with it!!
Thank you! Walmart has great quality beef...I love meatloaf, I made a huge loaf Monday and eat leftovers for the entire week. My simple style of meal prep. Lol
Thanks for watching!🥰
@@healthylivingrite yes I made a double batch! Threw some onion, bell peppers and used our own organic chicken eggs! So good!!
Love it!
@@healthylivingritehi Darren! Do you mix your ground beef with pork or lamb to make meatloaf?
I actually use Venison, my father is an avid hunter so I have a wonderful supply from him. Venison tends to be very lean so I add 80/20 GF beef to the mix. I do use pork, beef and veal when making meatballs or a ragu that I learned during a cooking course while in Florence, Italy. That's the only time I'll ever use veal.
Grass-finished beef comes from cattle that ate nothing but grass and forage for their entire lives. Grass-fed, on the other hand, may be used to label meat from cattle that were started on a grass diet but have either received supplemental grain feed or are finished on a fully grain-based diet. GRASS FED IS NOT THE SAME AS GRASS FINISHED. 🌱
Thanks for the info! I have made the clarification in other comments based on USDA definition and regulations. Thanks for watching!

100% Grass Fed -
The diet shall be derived solely from forage consisting of grass (annual and perennial), forbs (e.g., legumes, Brassica), browse, or cereal grain crops in the vegetative (pre-grain) state. Animals cannot be fed grain or grain byproducts and must have continuous access to pasture during the growing season.
Do you thaw the grass fed patty’s before grilling or do you grill them frozen? I find when grilling them they can dry out very quickly. Any tips or suggestions?
I defrost them, only takes about an hour. The 80/20 stays pretty juicy but I agree you definitely need to keep an eye on them. They cook very fast. Someone suggested using the air fryer, I'm going to try that next.
The packaging suggests to cook when frozen. I’ve cooked them both frozen & thawed and haven’t noticed a difference either way. You do need to keep an eye on them though…perhaps take them off sooner. They still cook through and mine turn out juicy. I also coat them with avocado oil prior to putting them on the grill. Hope that helps…enjoy 👍🏼
Thank you sir!
I cook them frozen and turn out very juicy and tasty.
I honestly didn't know they could be cooked straight from the freezer. That makes it just that much easier...Thanks guys!😉
As always great info with integrity.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!😉
Do you know why the highest quality beef always has trans fats?
There are 2 predominant sources of dietary trans fatty acids (TFA) in the food supply, those formed during the industrial partial hydrogenation of vegetable oils (iTFA) and those formed by biohydrogenation in ruminants (rTFA), including vaccenic acid (VA) and the naturally occurring isomer of conjugated linoleic acid, cis-9, trans-11 CLA (c9,t11-CLA).
Ruminant TFA (rTFA) are naturally occurring fatty acids that are synthesized via bacterial metabolism of unsaturated fatty acids in ruminant animals and found in ruminant-derived foods (i.e. beef, lamb, and dairy).
Results from epidemiological studies generally have shown an inverse or no association between rTFA intake and coronary heart disease. (CHD).
Sorry for the long winded explanation...
Shame it tastes gross
This was super informative (I have never heard of the pellet that can be planted behind the cows ear for conventionally raised😳) You broke it down so simply, in easy to understand language, making the choice for the consumer watching this to decide easier! Your vlogs have had an impact on food choices I make weekly for my family. I feel more empowered at the grocery store and my confidence has increased (no more “influencer” mom shaming!!) Can’t wait for Costco to drop the April sales and watch your video on what’s going to be the best bets for our budget and health (fingers crossed you make one)❤
Thank you soooo much for this very sweet comment, this is what keeps me making videos. I love that you find value in my content, that is wonderful!!!
I too am looking forward to a new sale from Costco and will definitely be doing a video. I agree whole heartedly about the (mom shaming from "influencers") as if being a parent isn't hard enough! The simple concept of positive reinforcement is associated with the work of the great behaviorist psychologist B. F. Skinner.I truly feel we all need positive encouragement/reinforcement. Life already has challenges, trust me I learned a few.
The fear mongering is sad but people are attracted to it like a bad accident. 🥴
Thank you again...you brightened my day!🥰 Be well!!!

Wow! ABA therapy, very cool expertise!
Great video as always! I’m not a fan of the frozen patties, they don’t taste as good to me. We do buy the organic ground beef and we can tell the difference. It tastes better. Thank you.😊👍🏽
Thanks for sharing Mrs. R!! I go organic when getting cuts of steak, more tender.
Thank you very much for watching!😉
Sadly I’ve bought the grass fed patties twice and everyone who has ate them does not like them they have a funky off flavor
The GF beef has a unique, gamey flavor. Almost like Venison which I love when ground. I do prefer Organic Grain Fed when buying Filet or other cuts. Corn feed leads to higher-levels of marbling and imbues beef with a slightly sweeter taste. Definitely comes down to preference, both are great options!
Thanks for the feedback and watching!
very nice content
Glad you think so!
Much appreciated sir and thank you for watching!
Beef so damn complicated and tough. I prefer pork 10X over beef. Beef will always just be a once in a while treat or tough punishment for me! Does Costco have dry aged?
To be honest I don't know.
Package doesn't say grass finished, so that means could have had grains at some point or at end. Must say grass fred grass finished
In order to differentiate what is truly grass fed beef from this less authentic product, consumers interested in truly grass fed beef should look for beef labeled 100% grass fed, as this indicates that these animals were raised on grass for their entire life after they were weaned from their mother. (From USDA website)
I wish they offered grass fed bricks!
😬
I wish my Costco had grass fed beef
Sucks that they don't. Are you in the US?
This was a big help to me, thank you !
I'm so glad, thank you!
Go Costco!
They had a sale not long ago on these beef patties
We got 3 bags.
Even not on sle, still good price.
Thank you.
