      kinda late but I think it's because the final one isnt a sieve, it was the pan. FM only considers sieves used.

    You're multiplying by 100, only to then divide by 100. Redundant and unnecessary. I know what you're going to say: That's just the way it's done.' I'm not trolling you, and I like your vids and I'm getting ready to take the PE exam.

    "The fineness modulus is a pretty cool tool". I disagree. I think measurements like FM actually lead people astray. FM does not give a well-defined knowledge of the size distribution, in terms of specific surface area, median or spread in the distribution. A single number should not be the goal; instead, meaningful physical properties should be the goal, even if it is a little more complicated than a single number.
