Winston and Schmitt were the funniest characters, had a lot of love for nick too but they two had the best comedic delivery especially Winston

There's not many comedies where the support isn't more entertaining than the lead. Seinfeld, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, even the Simpsons all have better support characters. Frasier is the only exception that comes to mind.
John Lithgow in 3rd Rock from the Sun. The cast was all great, but Lithgow was on another level.

The only reason I keep coming back to this show is for the guys. The four of them have the best chemistry EVER! The scenes between Nick, Schmidt, Winston, and Coach kill me. They don't even need Jess anymore. Praying Coach comes back for the last season!!

FUN FACT: When the character Jess was given Jury Duty and came off the show for a while it was because she was pregnant and they couldn't hide the baby bump. That's why they showed her in a SKETCH on TV and not irl and then she was a SILHOUETTE in the window.

@Caleb Mayfield well yeah, Cece is technically also a main character but they all work together perfectly and without all of them it doesn't quite hit. The episodes in season 5 (I think) where zoey was out on maternity leave were a bit eh

I LOVE Nick and Jess's first kiss! As a product of a trivia game spurred on by who she was "dating" at the time. And I love how Schmidt changed himself so much to fit with the crowd, only to go back to his original persona at emotional times and with Cece, especially when he married her.

Do it do it do it! It's on Netflix, episodes are only 20 min long, it's super easy to get into and stay into. It's so good!

Okay I def. like Zoey and not discrediting her on how well she plays the character. I think it's just very interesting to have said they would have put Amanda Bynes as the lead because honestly the character probably wouldn't have been TOO difficult for her to play in the sense of making it her own (of course I know the reason why we the love the character is because the way Zooey does it and all blah blah blah ) I mean if u ever seen What I Like About You her character is goofy charismatic and relatable. It's very plausible for Bynes to have been able to fill in the shoes if had needed .Her comedic timing is great and honestly I still love her work. She was the go to girl for characters like Jess or just overall quirky ones before her mental breakdown. If someone probably would've pitched New Girl in mid 2000s you bet we would have probably seen Amanda Bynes as the lead (or at least considered! much more seriously as well)

Agreed, Amanda used to play quirky characters before her meltdown. She was basically the 'It girl' for those roles. But Zooey gave Jess such an adorkable rendition that I am grateful she's Jess.
