  • Dont ever do this on the golf course. The main thing I see average golfers do both during practice and during their games on the course is a poor thought process. This one thing alone leads to golfers hitting poor shots. In this video golf tip Brian Fitzgerald The Golf Doctor shares the simple secret that great golfers use to give them the best chance to play their best golf.

    My name is Brian Fitzgerald - I'm an Australian full time golf coach living in Melbourne and coaching at two venues. The Morack Public GC in Vermont South and the Lang Lang GC in beautiful South Gippsland (An hour and a quarter from Melbourne) where there are lot's of Kangaroos.
    FAQ:
    How long have you been a golf coach? I qualified as a full member of the Australian PGA back in 1985. Wow I don't feel that old.
    Why do you make videos for RUclips? That is a great question and one I get asked a lot. I love helping people play better golf and people tell me I have a very unique coaching style that is very simple to understand. We really should do things simpler. I just make them to help people and if people like my videos they can either come for a golf lesson in person or if that is not possible you could join my membership program and I can then view your golf swing or any part of your game and really help improve what you do.
    Do you always change some ones golf swing? To be perfectly honest I try not to. If I do try to change some ones golf swing I have to have a pretty good reason for doing so and the client has to be fully engaged and committed to both regular coaching and practice in order to make that change. Most people say they will do both with good intentions but most fall away pretty quickly.
    So my preference is to change things that will improve their score easily. There are so many different ways to do this.
    What do you film with? - I have a few few different cameras I use. An old GoPro Hero 4, an iPhone 6 and iPhone X, A Sony ZV1 and an old Panasonic Handy cam (I'm using that less and less now). I record my sound on an old iPhone 4.
    What do you edit with? - About a year ago I switched to Adobe Premiere - prior to that it was Pinnacle Studio
    Do you make money off RUclips? - Yes.It took me over 100 videos to make my first total $100 off adsense and then another 50 videos to make my next $100. I think it will slowly change, but VERY slowly.
    I really enjoy your videos, how can I support you? - Here's my ko-fi where you can buy me a coffee, beer or a burger should you wish (kind of like giving me a tip via : ko-fi.com/theg...
    Thanks for watching!

    Another great video! Positive swing thoughts are best, hit the left side of the fairway, hit the right side of the green, lay up to the left side of the green, etc.

      Thank you.
      I am glad you enjoyed it.
      The best bit is it requires zero swing change.
      Just a fresh mental approach.
      You will find yourself thinking don't from time to time.
      Just stop and start again and think what you would like to do.
      Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.

    As usual Brian your coaching hits the spot. The negative swing thought will forever be replaced with a WWBD moment.

    Excellent video Brian. There is so much to the mental side of this game, I agree fully with what you're saying. I actually wonder how much of golf is mental... 80% maybe?

    • @fitzygolfpro
      @fitzygolfpro  2 года назад

      Hi David.
      I am glad you enjoyed the video.
      I think Jack Nicklaus said it best when he said golf is 90% mental and the other 10% is mental too.
      The problem is I don't see too many golfers out there practicing their mental skills.
      Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
      I am appreciate it.

    Great Thought Process Brian! I call it PMA (Positive Mental Attitude). Like everyone else though, I fall into the negative trap once in awhile and not good things happen. If I step up, call the shot with a positive thought, the outcome is much better. Good Job!!!

    Hi Brian, thanks for the great ongoing advice. I see your explanation of positive thoughts the same as watching my younger kids play the game. Whilst dad is saying I need to hit away from the trees ect, the kids simply step up to the tee box and normally say I'm going to crack this one, and guess what they have a smashing shot. Thanks again coach.

    • @fitzygolfpro
      @fitzygolfpro  2 года назад

      Oh that is so true.
      Having coached a lot of kids over the years it’s only when they become more intelligent and discover what the word fear means they start thinking “don’t”.
      Keep on the positive side and you will do well.
      Thanks for watching.

    Basic ( in the very best sense) but great video Brian. Deceleration kills my golf and is not too good in the car either. There is a topic I'd love to see you cover for us weekend or mid week warriors. ....i.e. does playing in a genuine competition, rather than a social group walk, lower your score, given the white line fever most of us posses beneath the surface?
