No apartments, no DVC. Just pure WDW.

Question, in the 70s were the guest rooms in the three-story garden wings identical to the guest rooms in the main tower building

Yes the rooms were (and still are) essentially identical, but were priced lower in the 2 garden wings

We stayed in a beach-level garden suite where the DVC tower is now. It was on the lake right at the end of the units. Great memories!

Mom learned that a ground floor "Garden Wing" room was the best deal in all of WDW. We would walk right out the sliding glass doors to flowers, the lake, wildlife, it was awesome. I think it was about $60 a night in 1975.
