Favourite Village of the French 🤔❓ | Bergheim | Alsace | Elsass

This is a short autumn walk in the "Favourite Village of the French" - 2022. Bergheim won the title against 13 other places throughout France.
It is a small fairy tale village in Alsace, few kms north from Colmar in the North-East of France.
It is unique, because the XIVth century medieval walls are almost intact around the village, which has only fairy tale colorful houses and cottages. The half timbered houses with flowers in summer give the village a unique romantic atmosphere. There are wine hills around the village and not far the castle Hohkönigsburg can be seen on the top of a mountain.
The village is however not the most famous or the most beautiful in my opinion, there are other well known Alsace fairy tale villages like Ribeauvillé, Eguisheim or Riquewihr with mind blowing streets and story book atmosphere.

if it has a "hotel de ville" as shown then it should be a town and not a villages?!?

Yes, now I checked and "hotel de ville" is for the towns and "mairie" for the villages. However on the internet they call this small peacefull place often a village.
