Awww, thank you! Yessss, it can be pretty expensive. I like to think of it as an investment, but I'm definitely in a place now where I can afford it vs. in the past, so I totally understand. There are a few ways to make it cheaper than what I did, but 400 pages is no joke hahaha. :)

I'm so excited for everyone who gets their book out there! I was never very good at writing query letters, hence why I don't offer it as a service lol

Ahh congrats!! You did it! I’m totally going to be printing out my zero draft from nano even though I know it needs so much work. I’m just so proud that it exists and want to hold it in my hands. And I think revising will be easier with it in print too
YESYESYESYESYES!! It's so nice holding it and being able to see it in a form other than just a document on the computer. And I really do think it works better to revise from print! If it wasn't so expensive, I'd do it for every draft haha. But I think it's especially helpful in these earlier stages where you're making biiiiig story changes!
Yay! Congratulations! Even extending my NaNo by one week I still didn't finish but I did get to around 79k and probably halfway through the draft itself. Looking forward to printing it at some point when it's more complete though! Love the idea of seeing it in a different way so that it's easier to edit and having something physical to work with would be a bonus. I will get there...eventually. I am already waiting for February 6th, or later that week, to have you talk about Project Purple again, I liked following every step of that project and can't wait to see the future of that book! I hate, and love, going to the library if I don't have a specific book I want to buy, because there's a 90% chance I will buy more than a book, even if I have 5 books waiting for me at home. I finally wrote the scene where my main characters face the friend that betray them, and I love it, which is not something I say a lot about anything in my first draft. Since August 2017 the NYPL has had 10 credits with Kanopy & the lesson I've learned is weather it's a class from the Great Courses or a Movie I can't wait until the end of the month. I'm spoiled because we have so many branches. There was a point where there where more Borders & Barnes & Nobel [the good old days 😩] but now commercial property is in a bad place. People see that "the rent is too dam high" mayoral candidate with different eyes these days in NYC. Thank you Kate for sharing this final mile. I had flashbacks to going to kinko;s with my senior design project & seeing a movie while I waited for the job. [This is me creating a FedEx office account so I can print my manuscript from Scrivener within the app & google drive... ✍️✍️📚📖🖨] What combo do you recommend for my 1st bubble tea? I was overwhelmed with all of the choices when I passed by a local chain.
Yesssss, the good old days of Borders and Barnes & Noble! There are still a few Barnes & Noble left near me and I can still spend hours there, though I'll admit my preference is Half Price Books (because it's cheaper haha). But there's something about the layout of B&N, ugh. And yesssss, can't wait to hear when it happens for you! OMG don't get me started on bubble tea! It totally depends on what you like. If you don't mind milk with your tea, or a creamier flavor/texture - try the traditional "milk tea with bubbles/boba/tapioca" (they're all the same thing, some places just call them different things). If you don't like milk or cream-y drinks, go for a fruit-flavored black tea of your preference! And definitely get the bobas. Some people like "popping bubbles" better than tapioca, but it's just a trial and error until you find what you like. My personal favorites are traditional milk tea (with tapioca), raspberry black tea (with tapioca), and Thai tea (with tapioca). Though I'll switch it up and if there are any specialties at the shop! This was a novel on tea, thank you for your time bahaha. Also definitely ask the people at the front what they recommend for novices. They may have some "light" options and/or let you try the bobas vs. popping bubbles to see what you like better!!
@Kate Cavanaugh I edited myself, I noticed half price books from some of Peter Monn's Vlogs. Thanks for the 🍵 suggestions. I have purchased from Half Price online (found them via albris) but the closest to me is in Ohio. It’s the In-n-out burger problem.

Bahaha I totally understand! I start the printing process when I feel like 90% of the story is more or less "set." Like the words can all change still, but the plot and characters are close to the finished version. Sometimes that's after the second draft....sometimes the fourth haha.
That is such a reasonable price for printing! I also printed out my NaNo draft, though I accidentally printed it single-sided (fo free) and it is MASSIVE. So I will.... not be binding that sucker. Haha. Anyway, congrats!
Ayyyy it’s my store that i work at but the online form. As a writer i am glad that my manager moved me to the copy and print department because now I know how to coil bound booklets. So when it comes time to print out my document i can do my own print job lmao.
