Thanks for explaining Multi-Select Dismantle. I've seen other people use it and they just say hold down "any" key and Bobs your Uncle. They don't explain that it is a key binding and that you have to hold CTRL + Bound Key. Thanks Bitz, Helps alot.
Hey Bitz! Tnx for an awesome video yet again. A question tho; do you know if its possible to put the ”Wall Mounted Flood Light” upside down somehow for an underglow effect? Ive seen people put street lights for instance upside down into foundations and stuff. Im a vanilla player so dont wanna be using mods to achieve it 😁
Thanks to this great vid on creating roads, I finally got the hang of it. The road I built isn't finished yet, but I've made a great start on it. I had to find a way to supply plastic to my computer factory near the western islands, and didn't see a reason for just sending it on a busline. This road was the perfect answer, as it gives me a starting point for trains in the next Tier. Thanks Bitz, and keep up the great work!
I've just downloaded satisfactory and I have plenty of experience playing other games with building, so decided to search for some beginner guides on YT knowing how tricky building can get in video games. Some people underestimate how pretty things can look if you can use available tools in a smart way. You are doing a good job, keep it up! You deserve more subs)
Nice video again little tip on getting the miner back onto the world grid after centering it. You can use a Splitter or Merger which you can connect to the existing Belt, if you place down a Splitter that is on the world grid, next to the belt, you can just align the Splitter on the belt up with the Splitter on the worldgrid and done. The splitter on the belt will have to stay but at least the belt is back on world grid :D
@ItsBitz, I've seen people do this a lot, but to select a build item, you don't have to go into dismantle mode. I don't know if you know this, I just saw you doing this and wanted to just mention it. Keep up the good work!
Yeh people tell me this alot, but the reason I do it us because 1 people who watch my videos visually see what I'm grabbing, 2 we the player can see what I'm grabbing and 3 when it got first introduced into the game you had to use the dismantle tool to grab and then they brought it in later that you didnt have to. So muscle memory still does it my way
Bitz! I've been a sub since your first tips and tricks video came out! If I could like your videos multiples times i'd do it over a thousand times cos your content is awesome! Thank you! This vid deserves more views and you deserve more subscribers!
hey quick question, if i am starting it as a new player... should i go through it without looking anything up? or should i look up some guides? just not sure what the "best" route would be.
thank you for the tips, definitely learn something new today. Also useful to know other ways of making curves. So far I did it 1 way: Place 2 foundations in front of you, and erase the first one. Then place a foundation below the 2nd one (the one I left) and one behind it (call it X). Now, with Ctrl I can rotate a foundation on top of this X Foundation (and even "zoop" it forward). The only issue is that it left some space on the outside of the turn, between the platforms, but it has quite less "z fighting". Will definitely follow "your way" for when I want cleaner turns.
These were fantastic! Thanks very much! For making curves, I have used a system where you count out from the beginning of the curve (usually 7-11 foundations) and then use the end of that radius as the center rotation point for the curve. You just zoop a line of foundations back to the curve after rotating the foundation piece at the end of the radius by one increment, erase the center, then turn it and repeat the process. Have you tried this method before and found it lacking for some reason, or did you simply not know about it?
Oh I knew about it, the only issue with it you can't control the snake head of the turn as easily and the z fighting is alot more severe. This creating sharper angles for walls and cresting more noticiable clipping with them.
Another tip I learned from a different video. Turns out the new half foundations don't z fight when clipping through regular foundations. Don't know the full extent to its use, but might be helpful when connecting two roads together.
Thanks Bitz for such an amazing video i knew one way of curves but it is nice to know both ways and that mass color for a certain object is a life saver thank you keep up the amazing work :)
Some really good tips there, for aligning miners I use micro manage mod, then its always aligned to world grid. Also any chance of a little vid on how to work out how many items you need, when it gets to decimals, my brain farts lol. Keep up the good work m8.
Yeh micro-manage mod is a good one. How im the releasing guides, is when I release "Said Episode" for the let's play series, and the main topic is working with oil, I release i guide to the best solutions around the release date of that Episode, if that makes sense because that's when the questions will arise around said topic. Same with any other guide, like ill release a nuclear guide when I get to nuclear and stuff!
@@ItsBitz yeah, I understand what you mean m8. I'm not the best at maths, so when there starts to be loads of things going on, I do struggle to work out what goes were or how much I need, iv tried using a spread sheet but can't figure it out lol.
And of course another option to remove z-fighting is to slightly raise/lower every other foundation. Or even build them this way from start by building two layers of walkways. I'd recommend to use micro-manage mod, though. It's much simpler and consistent with any kinds of manipulations of objects placement, rotation (on all 3 axis) and even scale.
I feel very stupid asking this question but is there anyway to automate foundation pieces and if so what do they get built into..I'm so used to factorio and this is new to me..any help would be great
Can't do the miner-on-foundation trick anymore (Update 8). And they've stated that the miners are not on the world grid, and probably won't be. Always enjoy your vids.
You should check out Season 1 of the Satisfactory let's play if you have not already. I break down each item and optimisation - ruclips.net/video/MsW1iwMnTmA/видео.html
When doing a curve, if you put the second walkway crossing at the bottom of the raised foundation rather than the top, you'll have one less foundation to erase.
i got lead to this video after watching episode 4(steel building) video, cuz i was wondering how u were able to mass dismantle belts only or supports only. I was like "WOW, how did he do that" and now i know so thanks for this video
Regarding multi-selecting items for painting: I am on Update 7 and I am crashing every time I try to paint like this. It appears that, for now at least, this function is broken on U7.
Greta vid, great stuff. BTW if they ever move satisfactory to ue5 (which they prob won't but maybe the sequel) emisive materials actually emit light in ue5, so your signs would work even better if that happens. :)
I do have a question. Normally when I am placing buildings the preview is blue. Yours is green and another RUclipsr's is purple. Is this an actual setting or is this just a mod or something?
i've only been playing this game for like 80 hours. tip #1 just blew my fucking mind. I always worry when mass dismantling that I'm going to destroy something I need, like power cables that run off to another factory somewhere else on the map and never notice until I end up over there and see nothing running
Would be super cool if the developers could figure out how to convert connected items into single meshes. I understand the importance of NOT making that happen....but if they would make that happen JUST for foundations, that would be an enormous help in the fight against the Z.
My Advice is to just DO IT!! You learn by doing, it's as simple as that. Like look at my earlier videos to now, then in 1 year from now, and will look at these recent videos and realise the same
wow, all the people that are new to the youtube channel. Will think you are just being a dick and don't know you watch the live stream and learnt all this from there.. haha... I guess ill clear it up for them
I said it's still interesting though! But yeah.. maybe I should've clarified I tend to see most of the streams so I catch a lot of the tips and tricks there. Just tired and wanted to leave a comment for the algorithm XD I'll stick to a 🍉next time 🤣

The curved foundations is such a nice effect. And I'm totally gonna blow a long weekend going nuts, making a "paved road" using this.
