This is quilting ASMR. So relaxing to watch. Your quilt is amazing! Your sound and editing of the video is so well done. Love the realness no talking style.
I've been WATCHING quilting tutorials for a few years now and this is the FIRST TIME I've seen anyone use the quilting frame? !! My Momma used to use it and she and a friend would quilt for DAYS until it was done!! We have some her Momma used that hung from the ceiling. Good to see someone can still do it the OLD fashioned way.
Thank you for this comment! :) As grandmothers ourselves now, our daughters are constantly asking us to teach the OLD ways so they are not lost. We also grew up with our mother and grandmother and friends quilting on these frames in the living room. For days we would have to crawl under and around the "quilt in progress" The frames I use today were made by my grandfather and some of the boards I'm still using were my great grandmothers. They still have her name on them :)
I had made one out of my Dads shirts and P.J.'s It's my favorite quilt ever. I did it with cotton batting so it would be heavy to really keep anyone using it nice and warm. I also made it long, so it could be used on the couch for two people when watching T.V. and both keep warm. Also I did it all by hand the old way.
This is absolutely beautiful!!! The combination of colors in your square choices go very well together! Would you mind sharing with me the type of stand that you used in your video to tac your fabric and Batting pieces together please? Also what size of tac pins are you using? I really love the outcome please keep sharing and doing amazing work!
Thank you :) I inherited the stands from my grandmother. My grandpa made them for her. They have a wood base and then it looks like he welded a piece of steel to a pipe and screwed it into the wood bases. The boards are 1x4's I think :) These are the pins I use www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B003W0NO08/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I really love your quilts... Reminds me of quilts when I was a little girl.. I'm new to quilting I have learned from your videos already.. thank you so much for sharing.. I will keep on watching your videos. What size of binding did you use? I love the old fashion quilts the best.. thank you again..
Thank you so much@@tereciahunter6427 We're so glad you're finding the videos helpful! These were the type of quilts we grew up with as well so want to keep this tradition alive :) For the binding we cut 3" strips of fabric. For a queen size quilt you will need 9 strips
What are the silver things you used when you pulled your material tight that you put on each square ? is it some kind of a snap or can you tell me where I can order them? Thanks. I love your quilt.
I love your beautiful quilt, reminds me of fall, my favorite season. Gorgeous fabric choices. I’ll have to watch some of your other videos, this video is the first one I’ve ever seen of yours. Very inspiring. What size did u cut your blocks??
I just wanted to "show" how I make a quilt. And I personally prefer to watch rather than listen to someone talk and talk so I just videoed myself as I was making the quilt
Thank you :) The frame is made up of 4 stands that hold 4 boards (1x3) so you can tack the quilt "sandwich" to the boards to keep it all in place as you tie. I inherited my frames from my grandmother. My sister had her son make her some frames so I'll see if I can get them to help make a video showing how they are made.
$635 CAD but this quilt has already sold. We are always adding more to our shop when we can. You can follow our shop here if you'd like to be notified when we add new quilts janandjillquilts.etsy.com
This is outstanding but as I am a newbie, I did not catch how you actually tied the knots at each point, however I am very interested in how to do it. Could you please show this procedure more clearly?
Hi @Mickey-jn8hz Thank you! I have a quilt almost ready to tie so once it is on the frames I will video me tying it. Hopefully it will be more clear. I will upload it as soon as I can. Thanks again!
Se ela não quer falar é só presta atenção nos detalhes que ela faz se é surdo ou mudo não tem nada a ver o importante que ela tá comparando uma peça maravilhosa com a gente certo
Many thanks, from Holland, for the great example. Now I can start making a quilt myself.
Best of luck! I hope you enjoy it :)
I saw a beautiful warming way of sewing love!

Oh thank you!
The ASMR I didn't know I needed. I was nervous about the idea of "tying" my stuff together, but I might try it after all.

You did not show how you got the ties. I assume you cut the yarn. Thanks for a great idea. My mom and aunt used the quilt frame.
yes I cut the yarn about 1 inch long for the ties
Yes they did. But I would like to get tad bit closer and slower view of tying process. I love tied quilts. 😊

Nagyon szép! A fonal akril, vagy pamut? Előre is köszönöm a választ.
Thank you. The yarn on this one is acrylic, but you can also use cotton or wool

Красиво. Но почему все молча?
Зачем вам, чтобы она говорила. Вы что понимаете по-английски. И так всё понятно. Если у вас будет такая рама сможете сделать любое одеяло.
