I've been playing it a lot. I think subsonic should reduce the recoil of the weapon it is being used. I have got dialed in with it and made some crazy shots. Overall I think it's really cool addition just needs a bit more reason to run it. I think they could nerf recoil on some of the semi autos like bornhiem, dolch, cyclone, etc. And a reason to run the subsonic would be to get better recoil.
they just added the ammo and reworked the silencers to add more rifles and snipers simenced variants ig, they didnt really think it through too much, I wish they would be transparent about what design they want for their game nowdays

Since the update i have almost exclusively ran silencers, i think there are 2 ways of playing it. Either you play the silencer for the silent AI kills and missing muzzleflash with normal ammo or you play with subsonic for ambushing and flanking. I must say i like the silencer changes, pretty much unchanged if you run subsonic but you can boost velo for a bit more noise, its a nice nuance

IMO, it needs to A) be considered normal ammo, so it can be replenished from normal large and small boxes, B) have a 50% to 100% higher pickup rate, C) both of these combined. With any of these buffs in mind, it could safely lose the larger reserve buff, which at this point is REALLY not worth the downsides, especially not for regular guns. In practice, regular ammo for silenced guns may actually be BETTER at distance, because you can't hear the actual gun shooting over the sound of the sound of the bullet zipping over your head. With Subsonic, you do. EDIT: Also, weapons like the Nagant Silencer unnecessarily suffered from this update, because their new "Subsonic" ammo reduces the muzzle velocity even further, but the original ammo was already subsonic! And in turn, the normal ammo makes the sonic crack as well, which again doesn't make sense, since the bullet never breaches the sound barrier.

Its amazing. This is the best ammo meta. I sat in a bush with a trio 10 meters away and farmed them with the Sparks silencer. They had no idea what was happening.
I don't think it's the gun, I think there's a bunch of people that got pushed to higher lobbies incorrectly (me included). I have a true k/d of .89 not including assists, yet I've fought in 6 star lobbies for ~6 months.

Also it makes sense that all subsonic ammo is to be capped at 330m/s and not have some go as low as 250m/s which is abysmal. Also subsonic ammo should reduce penetration based on the % speed reduction from basic ammo. Same goes for bullet drop. Finally, unless the weapon is internally supressed, supressors do not decrease bullet velocity by 15% (maybe marginally, like -10 to - 20m/s) Also for Hunt devs for gameplay reasons: every round that travels slower than the speed of sound is subsonic in real life, what I mean is that Nagant Silencer should ALWAYS retain silenced bonus (excl. High Velo). The whole idea of the Nagant S is that it sucks bad, but at least you could carry 28 poison ammo and be quiet so it had some utility and some extra in fighting. Now Nagant S is way worse, since you make more noise with normal ammo (while it travels at 330m/s which is subsonic already), you are forced to only use special ammo crates with Sub ammo and you can no longer use it to fight special grunts and bosses with poison. This patch makes long ammo guns (Sparks Silencer pistol and Krag S) the sole winners as usual and compact and medium lose so much utility. ALSO silnecer doesn't increase your spread like crazy. In fact silencers make shooting easier, not harder. Even if a silencer, due to being 1896 silencer was to miraculously make you less accurate it should still be by smth like 2.5 (and not from hip spread 30 to 60 for Krag for example) so it's in line with sway going from 77 for normal to 69 (nice 👍) for scoped weapons. If a FMJ or DumDum bullet travels at subsonic speed from a silenced weapon should still be considered fully supressed. My propositions (if you are still here): Silencer pricings: Compact: 1-slot: +20$; 2-slot: +30$; 3-slot: +40$ Medium: 1: +30; 2: +50; 3: +70 Long: 1: +40; 2: +70; 3: +100 (that would mean Krag S is 100 more than base Krag, since it is a 3-slot weapon that uses long ammo) Ammo pricings: Compact (not much needed, but anyways) 20$ Medium 30$ (15$ for split ammo pools, duh) Long 40$ (20$ for split) All silenced weapons with subsonic ammo should stay at 300+m/s, unless the base variant with base ammo has lower velocity, then it doesn't need subsonic ammo. Please, also make Sparks silenced a 2-slot rifle. Now that we have Sparks Silenced pistol - a 1-slot pistol, there is absolutely no reason that the short barrel rifle can't fit in 2 slots and be used in some Quartermaster builds. And since Uppercut got nerfed to 6/6 ammo, it makes sense to limit the long ammo, it would make sense for Sparks pistols to have 1+ 2x6, and upgrading to the 2-slot to have 2x7 and the 3-slot 2x8 (or 2-slot 2x8 and 3-slot 2x8 or 2x10 like the Martini) Ex. Krag Silencer Price +100$ from base (476$ if I'm not mistaken) Bullet drop 130 -> 80 (with SS ammo) Spread 60->32.5 Velocity with Subsonic ammo: 330m/s
Ignoring the maynard and sparks. Is there any reason to run Veterali silenced over Krag silenced besides cost? Ranger you can use levering and other ammo types, such as poison.

what's crazy is I don't use sub sonic anymore on the Maynard Sniper Silencer. I was for the first day then just went back to dumdum. Recently I noticed that people still can't tell where it's coming from when i'm 3-20m in range of them or even a couple of feet. I don't know if that's an intentional function of the Maynard sniper silencer.
It's definitely broken af with and without the subsonic, i can even hear people's little sigh when aiming without headphones, yet i cannot for the life of me hear this thing even at 15m, and when i use it feels like playing with a bow because they just don't hear it
I had the same problem, had to delete Hunt Showdown 1896\USER\Profiles\default\attribute file (or copy paste it to desktop), it resets all your settings to default but at least I could start the game.
If it crashes on startup is could be a cpu problem. Apparently this most recent patch put a core limit for some reason. My friend had the same problem and got it to work with this: 1) Use Ctrl+R and enter "msconfig" to open the start options 2) Go to "Boot" (or "Start") and click on "Advanced Options" 3) On the top left, you can select a "limit" for your CPU cores - i set this to 8 in my case, but you can go for 16 depending on your total amount of cores 4) Restart (necessary, can't be skipped) 5) After the restart, the game should fire up as usual

I remember trying out a random game back when they had a free weekend or something years and years ago. I totally forgot about it. Then sometime in 2020 I bought this new game called Hunt Showdown to play with my buddy. Logged in and was learning the game and realized I had a skin for this gun, called The Benefactor. And that, my friends, is how I have the Legendary Skin. I tried really hard to remember my first experience in some weird game when I tried it back in 2018 or so, and I remember loading into a weird game and waiting for the match to start. I waited and waited until the game finally started. I remember clearly now that I ran up to this zombie lady and tried hitting her, my screen when green and I had no idea what was going on. I ran away and tried to heal but I couldn't as this zombie lady screamed and kept walking towards my direction. And then...I died, got mad because I couldn't heal, then quickly ALT+4 and uninstalled the game. Some say that I really don't deserve The Benefactor...but I would say "Some random Hunter died so I could have this skin."

Nyet I just wished that the subsonic actually made bullets completey quiet, Obviously, the gun should always be heard at a certain distance. But wouldnt subsonic Ammo be completely quiet or near quiet? Because the subsonic is practically a nerf to the original Silencer's because of Muzzle Velocity. Although I guess it's good to switch to a silent weapon that retains some of its muzzle velocity during fire fighs.

subsonic ammo capacity should be higher since it has more dropoff . maybe nerf to damage. also delete subsonic crap of non silencer guns (or do it for who wants lesser recoil but less damage). also they should nerf throwable projectile (it should be only usable for throwables not crossbows) event skill and put it to all time perk. Also we want small shell slug ammo (if you have 1 capacity shotgun you can put 2 in it)

MMR is based on who you kill and who kills you, not your K/D ratio.

Probably slightly more silent, more ammo and a different sight (if that matters to you)

The drop rate will also be better on the Vetterli because it's medium ammo, which is going to be significant for silenced and especially subsonic ammo

I remember trying out a random game back when they had a free weekend or something years and years ago. I totally forgot about it. Then sometime in 2020 I bought this new game called Hunt Showdown to play with my buddy. Logged in and was learning the game and realized I had a skin for this gun, called The Benefactor. And that, my friends, is how I have the Legendary Skin.
I tried really hard to remember my first experience in some weird game when I tried it back in 2018 or so, and I remember loading into a weird game and waiting for the match to start. I waited and waited until the game finally started. I remember clearly now that I ran up to this zombie lady and tried hitting her, my screen when green and I had no idea what was going on. I ran away and tried to heal but I couldn't as this zombie lady screamed and kept walking towards my direction. And then...I died, got mad because I couldn't heal, then quickly ALT+4 and uninstalled the game.
Some say that I really don't deserve The Benefactor...but I would say "Some random Hunter died so I could have this skin."

Lmao they need to fire the people balancing this game, how can they possibly justify the shotgun buff AND adding Auto-4, before shotguns that were 2 slot needed to hit accurate shots to 1 hit now they just guarantee a 1 hit
I think on no silencer guns they should buff the speed a tiny bit so then there's a reason to use it for the extra ammo

Because the subsonic is practically a nerf to the original Silencer's because of Muzzle Velocity.
Although I guess it's good to switch to a silent weapon that retains some of its muzzle velocity during fire fighs.
IRL a subsonic bullet will make the whizzing sound when it passes close to you, although it really is not that loud.

subsonic ammo capacity should be higher since it has more dropoff . maybe nerf to damage. also delete subsonic crap of non silencer guns (or do it for who wants lesser recoil but less damage). also they should nerf throwable projectile (it should be only usable for throwables not crossbows) event skill and put it to all time perk. Also we want small shell slug ammo (if you have 1 capacity shotgun you can put 2 in it)

Because 600ms silenced centennial was not balanced. They changed to 500 after hv nerf but still op. The ability to be stealthy comes at a price.
@@deadmorose2359 And? Video games don't have to chain themselves to real life which is why we have monster, occult powers and weapons that are still way quieter than their real life counterparts. This change seems pretty pointless other than being able to boost the muzzle velocity of silenced weapons without using subsonic ammo and that could've been achieved with simple number tweaks instead of adding a whole new ammo type.
The change was made to nerf silencers in a way while buffing it in another way to make the game more interesting and nuanced

they messed again first release the sslicers than decide it is too strong and change it.. why changing so much ? no need to change many stuff in the game but they think they take care the game.. changing weapon settings is no good because takes lots of time practise it.. think more before release
