I think the reason as to why High School became so popular was because it was one of the FIRST Story games to came out during the start of the "Camping" game trend. IIRC, it came out in 3/4/2019, just 2 months BEFORE Camping 2 was released. So while the game is mediocre, it's easy to see why it was so popular back then.

I just need to clarify that just because Camping was the original does not mean that it is good. From the odd layout of the forest to having forced conflict (tent being too "small" although the server can most likely fit in, wasting a players time after getting unfairly killed by a random poisonous sandwich, the cave being FLOODED despite having the entrance being blocked) for events to trigger THEN having illogical mechanics like rain killing you, is pathetic and terrible game design. If another game, lets say aeroplane, was the first story based game, camping will absolutely be seen as a typical failed clone and will NOT be put in the rankings at all. A story based game is supposed to immerse the player into the plot. That is why the building, the pacing and the events reallyyy matters alot. Camping however, does not require most of these needs to make a good "story". Sure, the lore is interesting, but the execution becomes extremely obnoxious with the many forced problems throughout the game until it feels sooooooo messy. It's like a child bringing up situations in their story by just using what comes to their mind instead of what MAKES SENSE.

Let me tell you a quick story. About a year ago, (specifically on May 30th, 2019,) a game called "This is no simulator" was released. It's a story game where you make choices and stuff. Anyway, after playing through everything, (during the ending I guess,) the narrator (which I assume is the dev themselves) mentioned that there should be more story games on Roblox. Afterwards, the story game trend appeared, yet every game was just a copy of the first Roblox story game, "Camping." This is no simulator was updated, and included a path based on story games. TheLoneNeighbor (A.K.A the developer of "This is no simulator,") most likely didn't mean THIS when they said there should be more story games, of course, I can't confirm if they feel this way, but I certainly do. Story games shouldn't be some spooky story or something, they should actually have something very original to them! An excellent example would be the game (which has been dead for like 2 years now....stupid Roblox updates...) "Guide of the Realm." You wanna make a story game? Don't be lazy with the storyline, have a challenge here or there (that's not some Obby,) and maybe some combat here and there (that isn't default.) Roblox was meant to power and expand creativity, not copy and paste it. That's really all I have to say. The humongous problem with story games right now is that the main fundamental principle is that something attacks you and you run and then bad jump-scares. I consider Piggy to be the best story game on ROBLOX especially because of the fact that even though the level design is basically the exact same, the story actually progresses. There needs to be more narrative games shaped like Piggy.

I agree with this list, but I have a side note on break in. I wish there was more story, options, requirements, etc to get the evil ending because I've only gotten the good ending ONCE since the evil ending was added and I've played it like 30 times. my top 5 are 5) airplane 3 4) daycare 3) airplane 4 (honestly it wraps up and connects everything in the airplane series pretty nicely) 2) break in 1) CRUISE!! (just so fun there are so many things to click on and the design is so nice lol) imo the airplane series was really good and i enjoyed it :D
@@Hello-bs8dn sure! for airplane 3, I really only included this on my list because I liked the idea of going to save the antagonist. the only thing I would say is the dialogue goes on for some time and there isn’t that much design in it. the end of this story was what wanted me to go onto airplane 4. Daycare - I liked this one for its design and graphics, although towards the middle to end I felt some details were unnecessary (such as how the monster was portrayed). this one was pretty long , but it was also the amount of secrets along the story that were cool. Airplane 4 - prob my favorite out of the airplane series. the ending connects everyone and everything from the entire series. tbh I enjoyed this one for the good vibes in the beginning LOL. The challenges too were moderately tough too! Not too easy or too hard. Break in - I know this one was heavily based off the purge, and the purge concept is really interesting to me so the storyline was great. There are SO SO many things you can do while playing like side quests and collecting items and stuff, not to mention the nice design. A really well built game imo Cruise - I really only choose to put this as my number one mainly because of design and playability. It’s such a fun map with many areas to explore and many things to do. I feel like storyline could’ve been better as I believe it was pretty predictable. Cruise is just a fun game to play with friends :D

Yeah story games now try to be scary with jumpscares and monster attacks but they should make a suspenseful plot that makes it scary

The humongous problem with story games right now is that the main fundamental principle is that something attacks you and you run and then bad jump-scares. I consider Piggy to be the best story game on ROBLOX especially because of the fact that even though the level design is basically the exact same, the story actually progresses. There needs to be more narrative games shaped like Piggy.
piggy isn't really a story game imo its more like a horror while these other story games are thrillers

I wish there was more story, options, requirements, etc to get the evil ending because I've only gotten the good ending ONCE since the evil ending was added and I've played it like 30 times. It just gets annoying and its not even a unique ending to begin with.

Prison was freaking trash HOW ITS BETTER THAN CIRCUS TRIP AIRPLANE 1 AND 2 THE ORIGINAL CAMPING SERIES BREAK IN FIELD TRIP Z ETC ......look I know people have opinions but prison sucked its freaking trash the only good thing was the plot twist the graphics are extremely low quality it barely has lore its pretty much impossible if you don’t have robux and you can’t barely see without a flashlight I respect your opinions but seriously I am mad cause prison sucked one of the worst camping games in my opinion in my server it had a lot of bugs I saw someone go on the wrong slide and survive i know circus trip had some bugs but that was just at the beta testings when it was getting still getting made the monster and his design are generic “ ha ha I am gonna kill you “ circus trip has a very good written villain that it’s actually creepy and the music the story and the design make it incredible and really dark the green clown used the counsellor skin to drag the kids into the circus after the river scene that’s terrifying whole prison in my opinion it’s not exciting or you want to play it again you just like end it and you are like : “ I wasted my time “ horror portals is great and it has great jump scares prison tries to be scary with jump scares but it’s not scary and you can already see them coming the game freaking sucks in my opinion I respect yours but I am just mad that you gave him the first place

for airplane 3, I really only included this on my list because I liked the idea of going to save the antagonist. the only thing I would say is the dialogue goes on for some time and there isn’t that much design in it. the end of this story was what wanted me to go onto airplane 4.
Daycare - I liked this one for its design and graphics, although towards the middle to end I felt some details were unnecessary (such as how the monster was portrayed). this one was pretty long , but it was also the amount of secrets along the story that were cool.
Airplane 4 - prob my favorite out of the airplane series. the ending connects everyone and everything from the entire series. tbh I enjoyed this one for the good vibes in the beginning LOL. The challenges too were moderately tough too! Not too easy or too hard.
Break in - I know this one was heavily based off the purge, and the purge concept is really interesting to me so the storyline was great. There are SO SO many things you can do while playing like side quests and collecting items and stuff, not to mention the nice design. A really well built game imo
Cruise - I really only choose to put this as my number one mainly because of design and playability. It’s such a fun map with many areas to explore and many things to do. I feel like storyline could’ve been better as I believe it was pretty predictable. Cruise is just a fun game to play with friends :D

Top 3 worst camping games: happy birthday Isabella is a terrible camping game and it isn’t scary for 2 parts and it also has some really confusing storyline development only beaten by some stuff like final fantasy or kingdom hearts and to think that this game is made by the same people who made the hospital story also in scary portals is insane that such good game devs made such a bad game
