For infinite fluids you need to make a datapack. Instructions for that are on the minecraft wiki. In the datapack you neet to create this folder: data\create\tags\fluids\bottomless\ Inside this folder you can put two json files: one called allow.json and one called deny.json. allow.json looks like this: { "values": [ "minecraft:water", "minecraft:lava" ] } you can either add or remove things from this tag. For removing fluids from the tags you should add "replace": true, at the top so that minecraft replaces the create file with yours and doesn't add the entries together like this: { "replace": true, "values": [ "minecraft:water" ] } This should work if you put it into the allow file. You can also look at the source if you open the create mod .jar file in 7zip or a similar program.
For the "is this a helipad" question: Don't forget that stuff can be refit later. So the original rigs could have been built pre-heli, but a pad added later on for them.
it definitely looks like a helipad to me, though from the size it looks like it might be winch only (meaning the helicopter doesn't land, but just hovers above and lowers/raises cargo/passengers) either way, not all helipads have to be marked with an H, or with anything really, though most modern ones are, and winch only ones usually have "WINCH ONLY" written on them, in letters well visible from the air. also, while trying to find out more about the picture shown in the video, I noticed that the ship in that picture has a helipad too, with two helicopters on it. so it's safe to say that yes, it's definitely a helipad. edit 2: after further research, the helicopters seem to be Bell 47 d-1s. the photo is very likely from around 1949-1954, based on the fact that there's helicopters, the type of helicopters that there are, and the photo being black and white.
I found the picture he used as reference and the tender sitting next to the rig has two helicopters onboard so, probably from the 50-60s when it became more common.
in about the late 30s after a quick google search cause it sparked my curiosity when the first helicopter was made "The first successful helicopter was the VS-300, which first flew on September 14, 1939 in Stratford, Connecticut. The VS-300 was designed by Igor Sikorsky" and they didnt really start to be produced and sold commercially till about 1946. another quick google search: "The first helicopter to be delivered for commercial use was the Sikorsky S-51, which was delivered on July 29, 1946." just some facts i found interesting but
11:25 That is a "platform/tender" primarily used during the late 1940's to the early 50's. Helicopters were being used, in the US, as early as 1935. 14:03 That is indeed a gangway. The crew would work the rig and rest on the ship.
Next ship should be a ocean exploration ship with tons of equipment for research and exploration including a diving bell since as you said the vents are deep under the ocean, this fifth time im mentioning it. Really want to see what you can do with such an idea. Also tanker ships on phantom rails would pair nicely with the rigs!
With the new found info that. entities can be carried by boats, you should make an aircraft carrier. It would be big enough to transport lots of goods of vast oceans, but also a place to land planes and store them!
For the shits and giggles a tanker and cargo ship could be built, but remain purely asthetic untill the issue is solved. All the materials should be piped over to an off shore terminal. Now this could look like a small isolated pier, or you could do something like what happend to the FSO Safer and build an old looking tanker to function as the off shore terminal
I saw another channel, FyeMir, use Sophisticated Backpacks for their Schematicanon inventory. A Diamond Backpack holds more than a Double Chest. I believe they hold three Single Chest's worth of inventory. Four Diamond Backpacks would hold six Double Chest's inventories, instead of the four you get using actual chests.
Make an Air Force tanker but instead of mid air refueling do it for something like the lava or better yet a plain cargo jet for transporting the materials
You 100% HAVE to make a helicopter! Make one that is like, purely for transport (like a Chinook) And an attack helicopter (Apache?) Love your vids and all your builds man! 😋👍
Hey if you're interested, you can actually run Distant Horizons with your modpack, I tested it, the only slight bug is the clouds will always render behind DH, but that's hardly going to be a problem for you ;p
You can also build Maunsell Forts (a costline defence system) near the port, or maybe near the oil rigs, since the forts are from the 40s might be 20 years later tho xd
Make a train that goes on water with the style of the illustrations of the Jules Vernes books, that would look so awesome ! by the way love your vid, keep up the good work
this youtuber is actually the first to use modded minecraft exactly the way I'd do it. I don't know how much you've tried combinding your colonies with create yet. It's possible to hook up a warehouse to an ME system and get deliveries in there through trains. It would be interesting to see if that could automaitcally take care of the colony through mass production
10:24 i think litematica or forgematica would work good couse you can place down schematics as a ghostblocks and you just right click with a block a couple of times and it fills it in where it needs to be.
I believe the mod Create chunkloaders might help with your train problems. It only works on trains and moving contraptions and keeps them loaded. I haven't tried them personally on my world but I should be able to fix it. Thanks for the fire video.
13:16 and explanation for that could be that the oilrig was originally built in the early 1900s and then updated and refit with more "modern for the time" equipment by the time that photo was taken
13:34 - They had airships though during that time. People really forget a lot that we had huge zeppelins the size of buildings for like, a few decades, before they fell out of favor during that time. Some skyscrapers build during the very early 20th century were built on the assumption that passenger travel between them would be the norm soon.
You can make the lava river deeper to make it a larger source of lava. The lava it’s connected to does not need to be all source blocks. So using fire resistance and mining down the bottom or just mining a cavity under it and then breaking the wall between t allow it to fill.
The tag can be changed through a datapack. Dont know the excact code but pretty sure google can help you there. You can probably also find the tag under mods/create/data/create(or forge idk)/tags/fluids
If you're going to build a rig then float, there are one of two things you need to do, one you can build the top side of the rig then put it on a barge and tow it out and same with the legs of the rig. Two you can build a semisubmersible drilling rig with pontoons and tow it out with a boat. And for the pictures I would there in the 50's or 60's and it looks like the North Sea.
what you were seeing in the photo for the oil derricks is actually a ramp and the crane is off set to be able to pick up heavy supplies from cargo ships and the ship currently docked in the photo you have is a crew transport ship for the older oil rigs and some are still in service today.
Running the 1.1 version of the modpack on a server and I encountered a desync problem that makes it impossible to craft guns in the gunsmithing benches. Not sure if updating the mod would fix it, but new versions of the mod seem to have added some new content. If the mod can't be updated in the pack, I would recommend adding some mechanical crafting recipes for the guns that don't already have Create-based recipes implemented, as otherwise they're potentially unobtainable in a server setting.
There is a game rule you can set that makes lava create new source blocks with the same rules pertaining to water, hence giving you a way to generate infinite lava in this fashion that won't wreck your drydock.
Litematica is the closest to the mod you're looking for, Forgematica for forge. Unfortunately it has a hard incompatibility with Valkyrien Skies right now, and it probably won't be fixed for the foreseeable future.

Make a tanker ship line with phantom tracks so they’re less laggy and they have their own schedule
Nice
in my own world i did this a year ago
That's smart, I remember saying he should build a Liberty Cargo ship since so far he's got the ww2 allied theme, maybe a T-2 Tanker?
He could even go as far as to putting like a cruise ship or something for an aesthetic purpose or something
its a good idea but itll be the same issue as the crane, hed have to cooy mrbeardstone

You should make giant cargo and tanker ships to transport the new resources. You could use phantom tracks so they can have schedules.
One thing you could do for lava as incorporate a dripstone lava generator either in the rig itself or underground.
Well, if you have 4 offshore drills, how did you build them? (lore wise)
You need to build an OSV! (Offshore Support Vessel)
11:25 That is a "platform/tender" primarily used during the late 1940's to the early 50's. Helicopters were being used, in the US, as early as 1935. 14:03 That is indeed a gangway. The crew would work the rig and rest on the ship.
You can use create and little logistics to have boat contraptions meaning you don’t need to lay a load of ghost tracks to the rig for a boat train.
There Even is an interaction mod for These two meaning that you could put a huge boat contraption onto a little logistics barge
You should build a cargo ship to transport the new stuff from the vents
Since your ship can be pushed by another physics entity, you could create a tugboat to help maneuver your ship!
Additionally they could use VS: Tournament, which adds the ability to connect two or more physics entities via hooks
@@lilithsspawn Ooh yeah, that would be super cool!
13:29 they had heil prototypes back then. The first one to be used was in September 1939. They were just not very common or reliable.
3:46 as someone who still mostly plays packs back in 1.12.2 and versions like that.... it still feels SO wierd seeing this in minecraft lol
I'm confused, what specifically at this timestamp are you talking about? The physics entity boats, or the buried treasure map?

For viewing building guides you can use Schematica / Litematica (depending on version and mod loader)
As someone who has worked on oil rigs for 5 years, I will say that this is the best small scale model of an older rig ever that I have seen in a game
This series is so dope. I wish I had the time to really get into Create and what it has to offer, but I'll have to do with your videos for now.

first of all , use a boat-train also , the helicopter was invented before advanced color capture cameras so the helli pad did exist in that time
Tanker ship with 4 item vaults as the tanks, one tank/vault for each vent element you have rigs set up for
You could use just a lot of cauldrons and have it get placed and make the drill slow
I think you should make a hover craft or an amphibious landing craft instead of using motorboats.....or something😂
A transport heli would be very cool but it would probably complicated
The Distant Horizons mod would make ship and oil rigs looks so much better with being able to see them far away
if you built a larger boat, you could have platforms with small boats lowered on the sides on "cranes" so as not to use the gravity gun
