    I own the Tisell 36mm explorer, and I can confidently say it's a great watch (it's my daily, I'm wearing it as I type this). The bracelet is very nice on mine, though it has strange, kind of female endlinks, but it doesn't matter to me since I wear it on rubber typically anyway. When I do wear the bracelet, I'm a big fan of the glidelock clasp. The crown on the 36mm is more proportionate than the one on the 39mm. The dial is a nice glossy black, the movement is almost perfectly accurate when I'm not wearing it and loses perhaps 3-5s a day when I do wear it. I recommend it. Thanks for the video.

      Thanks for watching. I purchased the 36 mm Tisell, but have not unboxed it yet. Hope to get around to it one of these days. I am pretty happy with the 39 mm version, especially for the price.

    I’ve had Tisell in the past but I kind of feel that their cases and bracelets are not really high quality as current famous Chinese brands like SM, Octopus, Seestern etc. You can even see in this video that the finish appears to be blurry or over polished on some parts. The only good thing about their watches is because of the Miyota 9 series.

    • @WrongTimeWatch

      I first discovered the Ocean 39 Adventure not too long after Gnomon listed it. As time went on, I found the Seiko SRPE67, and eventually bought one. Love it's simplicity, and have always been a fan of the 4R36 movement! Not much a dive watch collecter perse. Although, I do own one Seiko with a rotating bezel. 👍
      As we all know, this particular Steinhart has been a hard one to get for many! Lol! A number of times over the past year, I would be ready to buy! Nope! Sold Out @ Gnomon & at Steinmart!

    • @vaclav_fejt
      @vaclav_fejt 9 месяцев назад +1

      The 36 version does have female end links, but the geometry of the penultimate links keeps them fixed in one position. If a handy person with appropriate tools ground them down a bit...and blunt the case edges while they's at it...

  • @Karl-hx6sw
    @Karl-hx6sw 11 месяцев назад +1

    Thanks and a good comparison, I like the Tisell 39 best especially with that on fly clasp adjust. So might get one (or a Baltany) at some point for my 7 and quarter inch wrist. You might want to try the Smiths 36 Commando for your 6 and a half wrist as the lug length is a fraction short for mine. The thickness and bracelet is good and the tropical fume dial is really lovely. Like most watches the clasp is the worst element IMO being a bit gappy and too short with only 3 micro. I just reversed the bracelet to make the gap less pronounced. I don't understand why the clasp seems to be an after thought for so many brands?

    • @WrongTimeWatch
      @WrongTimeWatch  9 месяцев назад +1

      I think I actually have a Smiths 36 Commando, I have not gotten around to that watch yet. I agree with you about the clasp, maybe these brands have invested too much money in the watch itself and have to cut corners on the clasp and bracelet. It is the same with Seiko, the watches are great, but the bracelet and clasp is a let down.

    Hi Kevin, I own the Tisell. The bracelet is poor quality, but you cannot expect more at this price point. Annoying are the spring bars, which are too close to the watch case. So you need curved spring bars to change to a NATO strap. Rubber straps are impossible to assemble unfortunately. One applied index of my Tisell is screwed up a bit. To be honest, the Tisell gets less wrist time and my girlfriend does not really want it 😄. Kind regards from Mainz (Germany), Frank

    • @WrongTimeWatch
      @WrongTimeWatch  Год назад

      I do agree with you. The end links, and lug hole placement should have been more thought out. I had this watch on a NATO strap for a bit, with curved sprinbars, but even with those it was a tight fit. I much prefer this watch on the bracelet anyway. I could not tell you the last time I wore my Tisell. I need to sell it off one of these days.

    I owned the tissel and the borealis. The borealis was phenomenally well constructed but too big and heavy for the style. Eventually picked up and smiths everest with the gilt dial and it blew them both out the water. It's the perfect explorer type watch if you get the chance to review.

      I agree with you about the Borealis and Smiths. I had a Smiths over a year ago, it had the old faulty clasp. The owner would not accept a return of the watch, and the customer service experience was horrible. Other than that I liked the watch, it is a nice looking watch.
