I just started 2 weeks ago -- “food noise” gone OMG I totally understand. I no longer have the crazy sweets and sugar cereal cravings. I can fall asleep without thinking about food! I hope my journey goes as well as yours!
I also agree about how the mental changes helped. That was my big improvement, I am a carnivore and my cravings have changed so much I never crave sugar. I'm down 62 pounds, 42 since mounjaro, my mind has changed completely. I wasn't aware what it felt like to not worry about fitting comfortably in a movie seat. I am so glad I watched this, I agree 100%
Thank you for being so open, honest and truthful about what you wish you knew beforehand and explaining some terms I haven't heard before! You laid everything out so nicely. Congratulations on your success!
Congratulations!!! Ive lost over 100 pounds as well, started mounjaro 10/31/22. My year is coming up....im pcos/ ir and its definitely helping me with symptoms and weight lost is definitely plus. Im forever grateful! My insurance will be paying through end of year. Non t2d. ❤.
This is encouraging! I have a serious sugar addiction and like you tend to be always thinking of sweets. Took my first monjouro today. Really hoping it breaks the sugar addiction. I also am going to strictly count calories. I am paying out of pocket my doctor said he hasn’t had anyone approved by insurance. I do not want diabetes so it makes sense to do this now rather than wait for illness.
Congratulations Denise! That is amazing/. I just started my 3rd week on Mounjaro. Just learning the ropes. I think it’s amazing that we have the chance to have these medicines, and I am so grateful!
I wish I could get on mounjaro but it's not covered by my insurance. I've been in victoza for over 6 months, daily injections, and I've only lost about 10 pounds. So frustrating
Owing to shortages, I had Saxenda and Ozempic for a few months each. I lost more weight with Saxenda. Now on Mounjaro and having much better results because I don't have food on my mind all the time. I don't feel hungry at all. For me, Ozempic did nothing. I was hungry also. Good luck with it, you've done great so far.
Such a beautiful story! I'm so happy for you! My doctor is calling my script in tomorrow! My insurance doesn't cover it so I'm very worried as to how I will afford it but I'm going to do everything I can to try and make it work. Praying my expectations is positive like yours. ❤
I’m on my first week at 2.5 & I’m so relieved & excited about getting approved for Mounjaro. I need to lose 125 lbs but I’m not discouraged bc I believe it can happen. Idk if it’s bc the dosage is too low but I still get hungry. Do you remember if you experienced this in the beginning? I’ve heard about the food noise being turned off, but I haven’t come across anyone saying anything about having hunger pangs. I would like to know if this is out of the ordinary. Maybe when I titrate to the next level, the hunger pangs will subside?
I’m starting week 5 on 2.5 and yes…hunger pangs will subside almost entirely. I’ve lost 8 lbs in 4 weeks and decided to stay at 2.5mg for another month. I’ve have zero side effects.
I've been on a semaglutide b12 compound and I'm beginning to think it's only b12. In 3 months I've lost 13 pounds. Is that normal?? I thought I would have lost more by now.
So are you still on mounjaro? And if so are you planning on taking it the rest of your life. I tried for 3 weeks to get the 7.5 and after the 2 nd week the food noise came back it was so tough to not give into it and a few days I did. I know for me staying on this medication after I reach the highest at 15. Financially and the fact for being on this medication is getting off all the medications I'm taking is my end goal plus losing about 75 pounds. I'm going off the medication.
I only wished I didn’t have the side effect of not being able to get my breath…like an asthma attack. Other than that it’s doing good to lower my blood sugar. Never had trouble breathing before taking it
Can you elaborate on what you ate . Did you restrict calories ? Low carb ? How many calories. ? Struggling with diet on ozempic about to mounjaro . Any outline would be helpful ❤
High protein. Low carb. Some say they continue to eat the same way just smaller portions. Most can't do that even on this medication. Protein should be the main priority. Veggies to keep you pooping! That can be a problem.
High protein is your number 1 priority. Don't get too worried about what to eat. I know it sounds crazy, but you'll be amazed at how well this medication leads you away from the junk and towards the healthy food. My body actually craves it. Any my issue with sugar-which is my number 1 trigger, is completely gone!
drink your coffee all day, itll help you pass all the protein you eat. then eat low carb big dinner. nutritionist i paid for suggested going to the store and get the flat bread bbq chicken pizzas. you can eat the whole pizza and still be under calorie. she suggested be in a deficit but dont deny yourself the m&m or cheetos, just STOP WHEN FULL and try a more hearty meal first, fill up on real food and water. other good meals at the store other than pizza are the brocolli beef stir frys or veggie egg rolls ect. keep a bunch in your freezer so you never have to resort to fast food. also dont snack as you eat. eat your meal, not in between. drink coffee instead of that, with all the sugar and milk you need. if you want sugar, you are prob low sugar! but i promise you wont want it if the shots are working
I lost 110 on weight watchers, before I ever discovered Mounjaro. Trust me when I say- those two things were nothing alike. The weight nearly effortlessly fell off. No fasting. No low carb diets. No diet at all. You literally learn how to listen to exactly what your body needs.
My doctor wants to put me on Ozempic. I am very afraid of the side effects. Can anyone tell me what their experience with Ozempic is or with any of these weight loss medication’s? Has anyone had any bad side effects?
I disagree about a really obese person not being able to lose weight on a strict 1200 calorie a day diet. Mounjaro works by making you too nauseated to eat. I have diabetes but am not overweight. I couldn’t take it because it made me so sick I lost too much weight and looked awful
I have been on Mounjaro for a while and lost the weight, but I had hair loss and ulcers I stopped it cleared up but I’m gaining my weight back and I don’t want that ….so I guess I’ll start it again . Has anyone else had this problem?
Lots of people have the hair loss. Pretty sure it just comes with big weightloss and needing more protein. The ulcers? Your the first one I've heard of with this. I'm in a group for people using this and I've never seen anyone say they have ulcers. I hope you figure it out. Good luck & congratulations on what you did lose.
Not very expensive. I’m paying $230/month. I should only need it for six months to reach my goal. Then I’m fine with using a maintenance dose for the rest of my life, to be honest. But we’ll see.
I’m on wegovy and my insurance pays for it. I believe you need to ask your doctor to write a letter of exception so it will be covered. They do this all the time for different drugs and it’s not a big deal so see if they’ll do it for you. Good luck!
@@sarahbeekman3814 The insurance did say a prior approval was needed for ozempic and wegovy, but the pharmacist said it is only being approved for diabetics with my insurance. Zepbound doesn't need approval but it would be $1109 monthly with my insurance 😒 Thanks for your response
I have come to hate my body. All my life I've been the sometimes "Y" guy. What do I mean. Remember the law of Vowels...A E I O U and sometimes Y. I'm always the sometimes Y guy... Sir, most people respond to this, but you're the exception, sorry. When I die, I'll be happy to shed this hulk...I'll never look back.
No adult on this planet would gain weight eating 1200 cal a day. Also when my friend stopped taking Mounjaro she gained the weight back. Do you plan on taking it for the rest of your life?
Agree with John! Mounjaro isn't no different from taking any other drugs. I beg to differ because I have pcos/ ir I gained weight from eating less calories. Ppl need to educate themselves on obesity and other diseases such as pcos. I've never battle weight issues growing up. I've always been fit until dx with pcos/ ir. I gained over 180 pounds. Guess what Mounjaro has helped me tremendously, I've lost over 100 pounds less than one year...I'm forever grateful . I didn't gained weight from eating...I gained weight from my disease!!!!
Yes, plenty of people can gain on 1200 calories a day. I have hypothyroidism and on other medication that causes weight gain so I easily gained on 1200 calories a day. once my thyroid medication was optimized I was able to stop gaining at 1200, but still unable to lose at that amount.
No long term studies either black box warning for thyroid cancer gastroparesis and pancreatitis body also builds resistance to it and a higher dose is needed
Your a customer for life. Don't stop taking your expensive meds because unless you Fix your eating disorder you will gain it back with a vengeance if you stop your shots. I'm taking the hard Rd with a gym membership. I'm down 10 pounds in two weeks. I gotta fix me. I gotta fix my eating disorder or I'll gain this back.
You are an amazing woman and so well spoken!! Congratulations on your amazing health journey

Have you experienced hair loss on semaglutide?
I've been on a semaglutide b12 compound and I'm beginning to think it's only b12. In 3 months I've lost 13 pounds. Is that normal?? I thought I would have lost more by now.
I was having very slow weight loss with MJ until I followed a strict diet. Down 20 lbs in 4 months & going down
Yes it is normal. Some lose at a slower rate. You may need to look into tirzepatide.

I tried fasting and low carb for years. Lost and gained the same 10 pounds. Mounjaro I'm down 90 pounds in a year!
