We all make errors in our thinking. And many of these errors come from simply listening to what others have told us rather than doing our own thinking on a particular subject. Today I want to talk about thinking from first principles and how shifting your thinking in this way will give you much stronger mental clarity.

For me, this channel is an example of what writing in a human mind looks like. This is the other reality of writing that many run away from.

Ohh I would die for a collab/discussion on storytelling between tyler and abbie emmons, I feel like they are one of the only who actually get in depth on why a story works

I see that you made this video quite a long time ago.
I just stumbled upon it down a youtube chain of related videos/topics, and the name of your podcast made me curious (Writer's Mind).
I am very appreciative that you put this together!

This is just great! Why? Because it is full of useful knowledge, why? Because you clearly don’t lack motivation to research and to act. Why? Because you love it. So do we. Keep it up!

😂 I'm still not a writer. this channel which is quite different from your other one. But these podcasts often helps generate new ideas or atleast alternative ways of interpreting situations, which I find quite interesting.

To be a self-destructive carnal socially automatic automaton renouncing our claim to sentience or not be? That is the question. The pensively therapeutic nature of writing is a Golden needle reserved for those who stoically seeks it's prick in a bushel of the golden hay known as life - in the face of knowing the reality of baring wisdom comes with sorrow and rare moments of glee upon the revelations discovered beneath the surface.
Stoic and solace is the nature of this man who has dug persistently into the bedrock of this cave, this womb. Born again and again upon each Earth shattering revelation.

No. It's a salt lamp. My mom has one. I think when you turn it on, it oxidizes or diffuses something in the air.

Agree in general but disagree with your microphone example.
It's possible to engineer something without starting from first principles. Most people do. Elon Musk doesn't. That's why Boeing and NASA's SLS rocket is expected to cost $2 billion per launch. SpaceX's Starship is expected to cost $2 million per launch. Elon looked at the raw materials cost of a rocket - metal, fuel - and calculated it at a few hundred thousand dollars. So he started with the assumption that a finished rocket shouldn't cost much more.
