I love that Moana is the first Disney Animated Princess to actually age. Originally she was supposed to stay 16 like the first movie, but then Auliʻi Cravalho told the director that she wanted Moana to grow up and not just be a little girl all the time. So they made her 19.
There was also technically Ariel in The Little Mermaid II, which is a direct to video movie, so whether or not it’s actually canon is debatable
I don’t think she’s the first, but its odd how they wanted her to grow up by a timeskip to 3 years later, but 🤷♀️
And I don’t think a VA have that much freedom to decide on what the characters should be do they? Though it does makes sense that they made Moana older because her VA does sounded older
How old is Simea? her little sis about 3 years old?
I'm pretty interested in the potential this sets up for the third film. With people from other Islands, Nalo and Maybe Tamatoa becoming big threats, Moana being a demigoddess, there's lot of places this series can go.
Fun Fact: Two of Moana fans are voiced by Dwayne Johnson 's daughters, Jasmine and Tiana.
Because OF COURSE they are; as if Dwayne Johnson can't have any MORE fame.

Moana 2 wasn’t meant to be a sequel. It was originally intended to be a series on Disney+ but it got canceled but instead of wasting money, Disney decided to stitch all the episodes together as “Moana 2”
I never knew that. So they’re basically pulling the same thing with Atlantis’s “sequel”

Been a long while since we have an aged-up Disney Princess. I think the last was with Ariel, when she became a mom to her daughter, Melody
Moana, when she becomes a demigoddess, is immortal like Maui, and from here, both together (forever), Maui and Moana will be discovering islands, Maui raises islands and Moana shows the way to her people, now more than ever Maui has someone to protect (Moana) and a purpose with the islands, with Moana at his side stepping on them, it will be enough for him, truly beautiful.
The 1st movie of Moana was fier. Thus one is a ten and my boy Maui came back. Whoo. BTW happy birthday 🎉

This would have worked a lot better if it sticked to its original idea of making it a tv series instead of a sequel.

Loved this movie. Made me cry at the end. Was so good - to me, at least! 😂
They had 10 months to make a show a movie--and if it was anything like "Moana," 6 of those months was focused on animation, meaning they only had 4 months to rework songs/plot. And according to one of the writers/directors, they weren't allowed to change certain things (Matangi, giant clam, and Nalo), or they'd go overbudget.

I saw this movie on Thanksgiving with some of my nieces and nephews. It was a great experience. Except when one of my nieces had to go to the bathroom and take me out of the movie for a few minutes. Lol

Gonna disagree haha, I didn’t care for it and didn’t remember the songs except a bit of Get Lost and one of the very last ones where Gramma and the ancestors sing to Moana.
wooo she becamed a demi god due to her sacrifice, now she and maui can do alot of good togeher,but that scares me for the setup of the next movie , due to the evil god, i hope in the next movie, he gets strip of his powers, his status and force to age as a normal human and suffer the consequences of his misdeeds and his crimes he commited when he was a god,this is my hope. or the other gods reincarnates him and erase all of his memories for good.
Get Lost and Beyond were good songs in my opinion!
Get lost was written while Emily Bear was with Beyoncé on Renaissance tour as her feat. pianist..she and Abigail Barlow had to facetime..,one of other Beyoncé’s musicians took a photo Emily sitting in bus after show staring on her phone…so the song seems to be kind of inspired by the „soul“ music of tour according to Emily
