- Today we're playing Terraria, but if an NPC arrives my character and world get deleted. Let's see if we can beat the game in Master Mode!

@funky555 the thing is, that's not the issue. You genuinely cannot kill any non required enemies. No slimes, no more than one enemy from each event, including each pillar. You also can't kill any non required bosses
@funky555 Bet you had over 50% bestiary in each of your normal playthroughs. So you couldn't be more wrong.

@Goteryup also if any passive enemies show up like a bunny or smth, they just have to be on screen to count
I love how terraria videos are always either ‘terraria but I add a mod that makes it 1000x easier’ or ‘terraria but every enemy is replaced with supreme calamitas’ with no in between
And both are somehow lame as fuck

7:14 I see you cut off the rest of the second bullet point. You need at least 4 NPCs to get the dye trader to arrive so you were safe.
Yeah, I’ve always noticed it took him ages to move in, so it makes sense.
I don’t think it’s Gungnir fabricating drama for his youtube video, and more that he didn’t pay attention (and maybe only knew the requirements from his memory), but still, good catch.

He could've ran to the outer edges of the world then waited for goblin scouts and had an invasion going before doing anything else.
So any stakes were entirely fabricated. But I agree, who tf cares.

There’s a reason a majority of the video was pre-hardmode - that was the interesting part.

3:00 Gem critters can spawn anywhere underground that you have a town, not just in the Aether. Mainly people believe that purely because they don’t make underground housing in any other biome, but the only natural spawn there is Faelings. Since you’re not building NPC housing it’d be a non-issue, just some info for next time
That's actually really funny. I guess everyone builds housing in the shimmer and so no one thinks twice before assuming that gem critters just spawn in the shimmer xD
I'm pretty sure 1.4.5 actually changed it so that gem critters *don't spawn* in the Aether, which is really funny.
This was actually a cool challenge! Lowkey wanna try it without invasions and turn it into a minimum npc run 😂
There is a way to do it without invasions by hoiking into the lihzahrd temple and stealing the solar tablet components early. This way you can turn on solar eclipse constantly and not see npc spawns. Solar eclipse is technically not an invasion so this would count for that sake. Kind of a boring workaround tho.

Roller skates are the GOAT mobility mount, only beaten by the infinite flight mounts. It gives you increased speed, acceleration and jump height, and makes building bridges infinitely easier.
I used them to beat Duke Fishron pre-mechs in FTW Master Mode, they buff your wings like crazy.
I get the feeling that if people really knew how overpowered they are, they would be nerfed quickly.
plus you can ride rails on them.

Just saying I thought this was going to be like an npc joins and the world would be set to the state of which you spawned in. This would include hard mode resetting ideally. meaning if you're like fighting the mech bosses then steampunker comes the hallow would go away and if you want to bring the world back into hardmode fight the WOF again
I was very sure this run would fail immediately after wall of flesh, it's crahy how far you got!
This was more possible than i would think 😂

I was wondering if it was possible to finish terraria without npc
on my first playthrough I didnt know that there was other npc than the guide and I went all the way up to hard mode before dicovered about npc
for me the goblin tinkerer and its workshop feels like a hard mode item due to that experience lol

2:24 is that the same case with an extractinator spawn? As i just had a world where i explored the entire desert seemingly trying to get an extractinator there (forgeting theyre found in regular golden chests elsewhere) and found zero extractinators and only found an extractinator later, but only after i beat skeletron and had access to necro armor.

still watching the video and you said you cannot get bug net which meant you cannot fish..but couldnt you get worms through can of worms? or would that count towards critter entry
can't you just summon an invasion and never clear it? that blocks normal NPC spawning, does it block the bonus NPC spawning?
If npc arriving was the problem you could use NPCs like goblin tinkerer, angler,stylist, mechanic, tavern keep.

I think you could have theoretically made tons of vicious powder or blood water and turned the whole surface into crimson. Unless I'm wrong, I believe that would prevent any NPCs from spawning.
The evil biomes only stopped the housing condition for moving in, which isn’t relevant to this challenge since they don’t need it to be fulfilled to show up anymore

new challenge, can you beat terraria under 5% bestiary?
If 10% is at 55, 5% is at around 28. You need the Guide, Old Man, Skeletron, Wall of Flesh, Clingers or whatever they were called, Leeches, Twins, Skeletron Prime, Destroyer, Plantera, Golem, Cultist, all 4 pillars, 4 pillar enemies, and Moonlord off the top of my head, so I doubt it would be possible without journey mode to set critter spawns to 0; it is essentially impossible to go THAT long without at least 7 unique critter spawns.

@feherdaniel2010 No, there is no being “fast enough.” It takes *seven* critter spawns to completely end the run. A bird, a bunny, a mouse, a worm, a goldfish, a snail, and a scorpion. That alone is enough to end the run. You have to avoid those and a dozen or so more throughout *the entire run,* while also being prepared enough to beat all the bosses and without killing any other enemies or getting any other NPCs (which you can’t consistently stall with the goblin army, thanks to the fact that you can’t spawn it manually without killing more enemies). The longer you take, which is already at least an hour considering how underprepared you would have to be, the less likely it is that you can beat the run. It is far too improbable to even be considered.
Terraria youtubers choosing the most inconvenient world settings for no reason:
2:05 - Some lines in the code guarantee the spawn of at least 1 copy of every single item inside chests, so if you want something, you know 100% the item is there. A few items can only come from chests, which means it is possible to have only one copy of it, like the Wooden Boomerang, because it doesn't come from Crates, therefore, once you open all Wooden Chests, if you find the one Wooden Boomerang and delete it, it's over, no more.
