I live in hyderabad, study in osmania university and I see golconda fort from my terrace. Golconda once rich in diamonds, today it's one of the poorest areas in hyderabad. Unfortunately, the university also doesn't have a Muslim management now, and they changed the original logo which had an ayah from the Quran, just 2 years ago.
May Allah protect us and guide us. Ameen.
Jazakallahu khairan for this khatirah Shaykh Yasir.

JazakAllah Khair for sharing this piece of History. Mir Osman Ali Khan was a visionary. there are many buildings, hospitals, institutions, banks, masajids etc that he kept the foundation stone for. 2 of the stories that are very famous of him are(not verified by me). 1. He gave the Indian govt. 5000Kg or something of Gold. 2. He was the one who sent the electricity generators to Prophets Mosque in Madina, when electricity wasn't used there.

    Salaam
Thanks & Jazaak Allah for sharing this historical info., as a lesson moving forward.
I have immense respect for sheikh YQ for guiding Muslims without cutting corners in this turbulent times.
I am of a mature age & was born & raised in Hyderabad.
I would share a little fact as well for the sake of truth & Adl, because Allah Taala doesn’t do injustice with anyone.
1- Asafiya dynasty as the Nizams are called had ruled Hyderabad Deccan for seven generations.
    2- They were only
    15 % including all Muslims.
3- Muslims even though in huge minority had major holdings in every field as elites.
4- No doubt Mir Usman Ali had immense contributions in building infrastructures & other services but the other Nawabs were no angels, rather they were immensely racist & mischievous. But the majority of non Muslims tolerated them.
5- Times had changed drastically due to Britain’s influence & muslim leagues creation of Pakistan for elitists, even though none of them had gone to jail even for a single day.
6- Congress along with Maulana A K Azaad had offered a very generous deal to the last Nizam Mir Usman Ali and he was very inclined to take it, but due to the Razaakaars/Non State muslim players who started the violence within to provoke the huge Indian army. They ran away to the then E Pakistan and the result is in front of us.
Only if Muslims had seen the reality & humbled themselves in front of the changing times they would have done a lot of good for themselves.
Please bear in mind, it was probably tough for the subcontinent’s elitists Muslims to accept the equal footing under the changing times.
Please read the genesis & evolution of Maulana Abul Kalaam Azaad and listen to his speeches to understand the reality.
    🙏🏽

How hard is your life... Don't be complaining about every little thing. Allah tests those he loves the most.
    EVERYONE SAY ALHAMDULILLAH
“And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.”
    {Surah al-Baqarah, 2:216}
So even when things are not going our way, when the world pushes you to your knees, don't be disheartened for you are in the perfect position to pray
(Prostration to Allah: The act that brings dignity from a position of humiliation)
Just be patient in life.. for Allah loves those who are patient.
Whatever life throws your way, always remember there'll be another in a position more testing. So praise Allah through these difficult times and praise Him when they turn for the good.

    Nizam of Hyderabad
In exile in Paris, Abdul Mejid II was maintained through the generosity of the Nizam of Hyderabad.
However, the Nizam’s princely state in India was itself subject to British oversight or paramountcy, so he needed permission, which he was granted, to remit money to the exiled caliph. Arguably, Abdul Mejid was still caliph but lacked any mechanism to act as one.

The British Foreign Minister Lord Curzon addressing the British Prime Minister shortly before the Second World War. He stated,
“We must put an end to anything which brings about any Islamic unity between the sons of the Muslims. As we have already succeeded in finishing off the Khilafah so we must endure that there will never arise again unity for the Muslims whether it be intellectual or cultural unity” (this means the unity on the viewpoint about life, something that affects daily affairs, namely the social, economic, education and ruling systems of Islam).
    Lord Curzon
Effectively, by 1924 the Ottoman Empire was over. In his famous quote Curzon pronounced the following:
“The situation now is that Turkey is dead and will never rise again because we have destroyed its moral strength, the Khilafah and Islam.” (The Khilafah Osmania)

Osman Ali Khan did a deal with the Indian government to keep his wealth and also was appointed as a Governor of new included state.
Qasim Rizvi had volunteer army call Razakar that first committed atrocities at the borders that gave excuse for the Indian army to enter.
Nizam Osman Ali khan dealt from both ends, he did a deal with the Indian government and also gave Qasim Rizvi to defend the state, because if he had not done to the Razakars they would have took him off the throne via a revolt.
Nizam Osman Ali khan only cared for his power and safeguarding people from bloodshed.
This is how the whole family worked first with the British then the Indian government.

After Turkey gained independence for many many years it was ruled by army, but politicians were so honest and dedicated that Turkey became a democratic country without any civil wars. KINDLY DO NOT DISTORT HISTORY by glorifying dog lovers or a fragile ottoman king. Thank you.

Dear Yasir Qadhi, After watching this video, surely history is not your subject and you lack the knowledge.
I suggest you must read the many many great contributions the Nizam's have done for Hyderabad and not criticize the deceased.

    Jazak Allah al khair
    Excellent information.
Alhamdulillah you are so thoughtful to relay history.
I am from Hyderabad my father was in civil service and his mentor was Marmaduke Pickhtal.
And later he served Mir Osman Ali khan.
As special officer used to hear these facts from my father too.
    Brought back all those memories.
