  • The Troublesome Engines arc concludes with Percy Runs Away! Hope you all enjoy it!
I had a very interesting experience with this remake. On the one hand, I think it came out well, but there are some bits that, I think, came out rather poorly. There were various instances where the movements of the characters, particularly when Percy was running away, just didn't line up with the sound effects, and that bugged me a lot in editing.
I would've been very upset with this video had I not made a very risky decision. If you saw my community post from Wednesday, you probably noticed that the set where Percy crashed is vastly different than the one in the final version. When I built the set the first time, I wanted to pay true to the Railway Series illustration where Percy crashed in a siding close to the sea, but I also wanted to keep him at Maron station (changed from Lower Suddery in the actual episode to align with the map). However, while cleaning up the set yesterday, I kept thinking to myself, "I'm contradicting myself because every time Maron has appeared in a video, it hasn't been by the sea.", and it's also not by the sea in the TV series, so in the eleventh hour, I quickly reshot everything with a more accurate set, and I think it came out much better. I don't think I've ever done something like this before, and hopefully, I'll never have to do it again.
Anyway, I hope you guys like the video! I'm beginning work on James Goes Buzz Buzz right now and I'm really excited for this one! Stay tuned for that in late April! Have a great weekend!!

    Great video.
Hope to see your takes on Gordon and the Famous Visitor, Special Attraction, Edward the Really Useful Engine, and Four Little Engines.

Thanks! I’d like to do Gordon and the Famous Visitor, but there’s no Wooden Railway City of Truro (possibly an ERTL remake?????), Special Attraction could be fun, as would Edward the Really Useful Engine. And, I’m not making any promises, but I may be dipping into narrow gauge remakes next year…🤫

Great remake! I love those Wellsworth, Gordons hill, and Maron sets. I want to make some gordons hill sets for my James in a mess remake.

Thank you! Be warned; if you’re gonna make a Gordon’s Hill set like mine, it’ll be a pain to film on

Okay, thanks for the warning! I love all of your remakes, I wish I could do mine as good as yours. I have a small dark green towel I use as grass, I always use that. But for my next remake I will try using individual sets instead of one layout, so let's see how that goes if I can raise and angle the tracks enough.
