This is tremendously helpful. I wish he would slow down a little, but I really appreciate all the information. I would be totally lost and confused if it weren't for this video. Thanks!
You do need to sign it but a zipped apk is not needed for Android publication. When you get the apk file from MIT App Inventor (Build -> save .apk to my computer), it automatically signs for you, which probably uses a key provided by MIT App Inventor itself. This process is so much easier, compared with a regular signing process in Android Studio.
I have another questions about google play store can I publishing it on my apps and games onto this google play store and amazon playstore at same times or no?
So I accidently activated app signing in google developer. When I want to upload a update for my app it tells me my upload certificate is different from the original app. How can I disable app signing, or how can I give it the same upload certificate?
Hi there Thank you for the tutorial on how to publish my app. I used to Google play console I'm followed your instructions and it now says my app is published which is great. But I can't see it on Google play app store. Have i missed a stage ? Or is there any reason you can think of for this? Thanks :) Charlie
I made a simple game, and I'm getting an error message when I try to upload my apk: "Your app currently targets API level 7 and must target a least API level 26 to ensure it is built on the latest APIs optimized for security and performance. Change your pap's target API level to at least 26." Any ideas on how to do this using MIT App Inventor?
One of my students figured out how to publish our apps and bypass this error. Under Build, there’s a way to download the apk specifically for Google Play that I overlooked.
1. You need to have a privacy policy. If you don't know how to write one, google "Android Privacy Policy Generator", such as app-privacy-policy-generator.firebaseapp.com/ 2. You need to put this privacy file to the web. If you already have a website/webspace, just use that. Or you can choose to use a free hosting/storage service, such as GitHub Pages (pages.github.com/). Let me know if this helps.
how do u upload it into store , the app inventor says that it will only work on below android 4 version still , iam planning to try once , it seems these new rules started applying from august 1 2018 , which happened after this video?
Be sure to choose Build/Dowload apk for Google Play (Save apk to Computer). One of my students helped me publish my first app this week with that one change.
i don;t know yet but , anyway i remembered that i have to pay 25 $ so i gave up. Maybe sometime soon my parents will say ok , till then i have to wait , if you want i can send you my app

thank you very much, very helpful video. one question : you don't need to sign and zip align the saved apk before uploading to google store ?
You do need to sign it but a zipped apk is not needed for Android publication. Sir I want to publish android app on play store. Please tell me which link should I submit in a Privacy Policy blank?
1. You need to have a privacy policy. If you don't know how to write one, google "Android Privacy Policy Generator", such as app-privacy-policy-generator.firebaseapp.com/
2. You need to put this privacy file to the web. If you already have a website/webspace, just use that. Or you can choose to use a free hosting/storage service, such as GitHub Pages (pages.github.com/).
