Thank you Jim for this video! I made my first ever long distance trip from California to Carlsbad Caverns in 2008 and I can barley remember the Big I or Tijeras Canyon! Thanks so much for the memories! Can't wait to get back into making videos again.
Sick ass song, perfectly synced and appropriate for the scenery, combined with an amazing drive thru Tijeras Canyon along I-40, means that this video instantly qualifies onto my "favorites" list. Probably one of my top 3 to 4 videos from your trip, for the reasons I mentioned above. Awesome work!
Nice video! I haven't been that way in a few years. Last time I went that way, it was at night, but in daytime, it's a good drive when not ABQ's rush hour.
Hey over spring break I actually went to Albuquerque and Tucumcari, it was incredible! It was officially the very first time traveling into Mountain Time Zone!
The 00-02 "Big I" project was a complete interchange replacement, not an upgrade. All L exits and entrances were converted to R exits and entrances. As there is no Albuquerque Beltway, this interchange handles ALL through/long distance traffic. In retrospect, some of the flyovers should have been two lanes, instead of one. And the I-25 section S of the interchange should have been trenched, and straightened, as well.
Nice ride... a beautiful stretch of freeway and well-done. NMDoT did a good job with that stack at the beginning of the vid- and I was wondering where Walter White and Jesse Pinkman were- lol- Sorry so could not resist a Breaking Bad reference!
Apparently the person who made the decision to move route 66 did it screw Santa Fe (State Capitol), where 66 originally was routed through. I really did not get into the nuts and bolts of it.
It's OK that you didn't like the song, but keep two things in mind. #1 it did "work" with the tempo and flow of the video #2 There isnt a song in the world I could use in a given video that 100% of the people would like and that's cool. Thanks for watchiong.

You are welcome Kyle, hope you get back there again, thanks for watching!
Loved it. I lived in TIJERAS back in 1984. I remember the drive from Albuquerque like it was yesterday.
Thank you!
I have not heard that song in many years.

Hey! No cursing in here! >:(
Justin Hundley Ass is not a curse and Brent is a good friend so it's OK.
Thanks Brent, really glad you liked this one.
Freewayjim Where are we going to visit Albuquerque?
Freewayjim Sorry FreewayJim & FreewayBrent.
Very well done, Jim. Nothing but pleasant memories. I hope you caught the world's tallest cross at Groom, TX.
Thanks, yes I do recall passing by it.
Once again a great video from your hand.
Thank you!

Great ride and route selection. The track I'll say is interesting, but fitting.
Thank you!

nice drive!!
it's a nice ride.
3:38-4:07 reminds me of heading towards Santa Fe from Los Alamos.
Nice ride Jim - what did you mean by 'Political Revenge' at 3:03?

Tijeras - scissors - I-40 "cuts" through the canyon. It makes sense.
