I agree that MIOs are really annnoying. Sometimes it feels like Paradox just adds extra filler to DLCs to justify the price, and in the case of Arms Against Tyranny we are left with something that's unnecessary and just slows down the game. Although the Scandinavian focus trees are of course welcome additions, and I think a Nordic Union playthrough would be really cool at some point!
MIOs would be fine if they were more unique, at least for big countries, and if you could save presets. But one feature that I love from AAT is the international market. Playing a smaller country it is often worth buying a shit ton of guns early on as you'll never be able to build up that quickly, especially if you are one of the puppet nations (like Qing or Congo)
@@agustinpr8636 I was the first to tell the developers in the early access group they made with us creators and they said they would work on it, but unfortunately I haven't heard any news since...
I agree with all your tiers but I must say I think the DLC subscription is useless to dedicated players because it becomes more expensive in the long run (I've already played 3400+ hours and I know other players that have spent even more time). Lets see if 2025 brings a new country pack with the much needed Japanese revised tree...
@@josepsamarrafarre i agree, for hardcore players the subscription is not the way. But for someone who just wants to get an idea of the game it is a pretty good option!
Being the iredeemable wehraboo I am Götterdämmerung is must have for me. No step back is objectively the best dlc for any country tho. The inner circle mechanic pales in comparison with the Soviet mechanics in terms of role-playing.
I totally agree with special projects and raids. I usually play minors for achievements, and since Gotterdammerung it has become a drag. In my last Sweden game I had to fight 8k Soviet mothership planes, so much fun. And new nuking while I agree, is more realistic, it's substantially less fun, and this is why I play games. Also I feel like the AI change didn't improve their decisions and once you go late game (as it is per usual with minors) it changes into slogging through thousands of poorly designed and badly organized enemy divisions. I'm not even talking about the UK, since once I cracked the recipe, invading them is still rather easy. Another pet peeve of mine is European Federation as Austria. This path straight up sucks. But i will give credit when its due, both Austria and Hungary Austria-Hungary paths are amazing
@@MachiavellianStrategist yeah, I mean, German tree is bonkers good, but when you get into the details, it really falls flat on so many small things. But I will give them credit for going in the right direction, especially with formables, I'm a huge fan of new European Union.
