Oh sweetie this was a brilliant video... slick and very informative. You talked about winter coats... about 4 years ago I found a gorgeous Cashmere and wool blend, full length black dress coat in a charity shop for.... £5!!!! of course I bought it and it is one of my fav items. I have also, after many years, found a brand of jeans that actually fit me... Next mid rise straight leg jeans... and I buy them second hand from ebay. Please can we have more of these videos. I am really poorly right now and have felt dreadful for the past few days, but this video made me smile. Sending lots of love to you honey xxxxx
The intrinsic value of any handbag (or any other item) is limited to the value of the materials it’s made of. This means that the tougher the financial situation, the closer the resale value of an authentic designer bag will be to the value of its leather and hardware, so if you buy a replica outright you’ll get a high-end bag that’s closest to the value of the raw materials.
Hi Monica, really enjoyed your video. You have some beautiful clothes and jewellery. I love your style but also your good sense and practicality too. Many of the items are real investments. Also like the way you plan carefully for some luxury purchases.....great discipline!! Always look forward to watching you.
Very inspiring video thanks, youve encouraged me to look beyond charity shops now. I bought a grey wool and cashmere dress coat for £20 in my local Oxfam shop, trouble is I don't like the style, maybe I'll sell it on?! My vintage leopard brooch for a fiver in an antiques market is my favourite buy.
Although I don’t buy high-end designer clothing, I have (over the last 30 odd years) always focused on leather handbags, new leather shoes, and coats and jackets from charity shops. I currently have a stunning, classic black wool winter coat from Laura Ashley that has a velvet collar - it’s beautiful! I have a nice little collection now but it takes time and you have to be patient. 🧡💚
Hi Monica, I love your videos…….I always purchase my Levi 501’s secondhand, they’re my favourite style of jeans and I’ve had some great bargain buys. Last year I bought a beautiful Jaeger trench coat for £15, it’s like new and I recently bought a Ralph Lauren jumper which as been on my wish list for a while…….who doesn’t love a bargain🥰
I buy my boots and coats 2nd hand and get the quality and mine loik brand new . I also shop for my daughter in law who never finds stuff . I do get brand name sweatshirts for son too.
Hi Monica, I love your jumper with the pearls - it is so interesting and has a lovely neckline. Do tell us where that is from. I loved the video - so inspiring. I rarely buy anything new nowadays for both afforability and sustainability reasons and I love that we have so much choice on the 2nd hand market. Xx
I just found a Northface coat yesterday. I don't know what I paid because I also found a vintage sweater and a tshirt Total $8.00. I found these at Habitat Restore.
Thank you for this video Monica. I have a pair of versace clip on earrings which I haven't been able to wear because they nip and give me a headache. Have you any advice? Many thanks
Monica I love your videos and I’m looking on some of the websites you linked for a special bag I’ve been after for a while . I know longer think bags these days are worth the prices and also the quality isn’t great. Thanks for showing me the secondhand life😂❤
Monica, I thrift cashmere as well. How do you launder your sweaters? I dry clean but it can be expensive. Any tips? Thank you for your videos. I look forward to them❤
Hi I'm not Monica! But Nearly New Cashmere( on you tube) provides you with this information. Also how to wash/remove stains from silk scarves. Hope you find this useful!
Hello! Thanks so much for your kind words. Generally, I just hand wash in cold water and find this works well 🥰❤️ I know some others have other methods, but this works for me! Monica xx
Hello! I am quite picky with the cashmere I buy, and will usually only buy it if it’s of a good (and better) standard 🥰 I wash it by hand in cold water and find this works well for me xx
