- RUSH's Xanadu from the album "A Farewell To Kings" . The band wowed their established fans and gained many new Rush devotee's with this amazing track. Neil Peart added several exotic percussion instruments to his kit, broadening even further the incredible sound the trio was able to produce. Geddy Lee's vocal expressions and bass phrasing continued to help shape the band's unique appeal. A tragically underrated talent even today, Alex Lifeson once again displayed his beautifully expressive guitar work in this classic. This mind bending musical exploration into man's eternal quest is truly without equal.
Enjoy !!

This album permanately hooked me on Rush and became my ultimate band and their biggest fan. Even over Zepplin. I felt so proud that they were Canadian and i lived in the same neigborhood as Neil in Port Dalhousie (St Catherines)
Back in the day a friend gave me a cassette. He said he didn't like the music. It was Caress of steel. I was instantly impressed. That same year I got to see them in concert. 2112. As a fellow Canadian I'm very proud of RUSH.
The ultimate thinking persons' music - Rush is without equal
This is my favorite RUSH song. 💕
My favorite Rush song! Unbelievable that they were just around 25 years old when they created this, 3 musical geniuses...and a fitting visual tribute to the majestic music
IT´S AMAZING. IT´S AWESOME.
RIP Mr. Peart. Of all the drummers and / or lyricists of rock, he was the BEST. The Rock music loses a legend. Very sad. Goodbye Mr. Professor. Thank You Very Much. 😪😪😪
Neil is now the Immortal Man.
The songs a masterpiece. That's a given. But damn, so's the imagery and editing. Stunning.
Well said.
Whoever put together this video did an absolutely astounding job. I couldn't imagine better footage to put this song to. I know it's not an 'offical' music video, it's too damn good. Mad props.
Excellent job. Stirred so many memories. I really can't say how many times I've seen them. 70's 80's 90's 2000's. Miami doors rushed by the crowd when they flew in by helicopter. Teargas, batons and angry police officers. The show still went on. 3 guys with such talent!
These three geniuses will never be equalled.
Rest in piece Neil.
And thank you RUSH for all you have given us.
Been a Rush fan (and guitarist / Alex wannabe) for more than 40 years and JUST NOW saw this video. The imagery and story telling is top notch. Well done!
Tears rolling down my cheeks nearly the entire 11:00 song. Thank you for this.
The imagery is almost spot on.
loved the imagery and the timing with the editing!
the collision of the 2 planets near the beginning, timed with the music, gave me goose bumps!
kudos to you!
+Sigh PhiGuy, l totally agree, very well done to an amazing piece of music, from a legendary bad!
+Sigh PhiGuy Wow, thanks so much!!
Still Kickin Yes was inspiring An awesome piece of work sir. All of your works of art are well done!!
Yeah, that really stood out my first time watching this video. I was thinking "Hmm, that was no accident. This is pretty cool". Nicely done.
December 13, 1978 St. Louis ...3 blotters tripping and this will reach your Soul forever
A great video display and great noise cancelling headphones to my favorite Rush classic. I doesnt get any better than this! Thanks Kickin'!!
Xanadu, a place I've been meaning to visit... it's on my bucket list.
Love the videos.
This video is an absolute work of art. It moves me.
I know-- his videos are deep, clear, and intelligent.
Nothing says I'm chilling it like floating around in acretion disk waiting and watching for planets to form up.
We all need to chill to accretion disks more often....
@@WakefieldTolbert exactly
I like how the constellation Orion is prevalent during the night sky scenes ;-)
Amazing! I've watched your "Jacob's Ladder" video many times, and decided to check out some of your other ones. You are very talented.
algonacchick Thank you, that's very kind of you to say!!
The Three Magi. Nuff said. Great video composition!!! 12 stars!
This song is so awesome live - saw it in Dallas and Newark this tour.
Incredible! Absolutely love your work.
This video is awesome!
Brilliant video/audio combination; great scenes from space, and earth civilizations. Great job! Love it.
Thankyou from the bottom of my heart - you have got me to listen to more Rush music in the last hour than in the last few years - your video work is truly amazing - words are not enough - brilliant - I will return to enjoy more.
Congrats ! Amazing video for this amazing song.
Rush’s music is the soundtrack to the universe and this music video shows it :) very well put together, this is incredible thank you
Out of this World!!!
thank god for Rush!
Thanks RUSH, Gods of ROCK!!
@luckyfingers1213
A most ironic statement considering they are all atheist/agnostic/skeptics.
Love the song and love the video.
Your Work is just incredible, truly. 💙🌀💙
I just discovered your work.
Beautifully done!
Cant wait to see the entire (current) collection.
Keep up the good work!
+Larry Lewis Thanks!!

This song rocks, beautiful video!
Dude, you are the RUSH of video editing and artistic vision.
....In the beggining God said, "Let there be RUSH!" and the people rejoiced . x) \m/

+Zigman2112 Thank you!!
Again you have blown me away as a director and the artistry was amazing !
+michael shawn Thanks so much!!
Dam the collection of shots in this vid go way beyond the normal guys understanding .I saw what you showed and hahaha..good job..I know too.thank you for the beautiful crisp clear shots
Love the themes for your videos-the timing is perfect with the songs and they are visually stunning. While I have no video skills myself, I pictured Xanadu as a more pastoral start with more mystical effect as it grows. I like your theme though.
Thanks for watching !!
Beautiful!
Great tribute video for one of the all time greatest songs, bar none.
Thanks!!
Damn, frellin' excellent! Still Kickin awesome job on this video, just wonderful.
Thank you!!
That is whithout doubt the greatest thing i have ever seen.... I love Rush .......................Nearly good as Asteroid by Kyuss
One of the best Canadian imports to the U.S.
even before any sort of CGI even as a kid in 1984(or something) I always wanted to do a Rush video this way, but never could(and still can't) but this is awesome!
fucheduck Thanks!!
SK: great job. Would love to see it with the live version on "Exit...Stage Left", starting from "Broon's Bane" and "The Trees", since the three morph perfectly into one another.
I was thinking the same. I've only heard the studio version of Xanadu a few times to the ESL version. As a matter of fact, the spirit of radio, Jacob's ladder, freewill all 95% listened to on ESL. The studio version of Xanadu is good but compressed sounding. Great song / video nonetheless
What an amazing journey! Exceptional!
+rael01hotmailcom Thanks!!
Stellar synchronization of music to video, love it. Have worshipped Rush for the past 35 years and happy I came across Still Kicken's vids but have a question. I have always thought of making my own home videos and put them to popular music tracks like this but have always been wary of copyright issues. Does Still Kickin for instance have anything to worry about? Obviously he will make a few youtube bucks on his videos but will Rush be pounding on his door looking for their cut or worse threaten with a lawsuit? Anyway I know there's info on this all over the web but thought someone could give me the simpleton version. Thanks!
Not like Don Henley... He would’ve been knocking down the door looking for his....
this is how i always pictured this song..
This is incredible! How is it that no one has commented here?? Thank you!!
Liz Kylin Thanks for watching and the kind words!!
You and your videos are a whole lot of awesomeness!!!
+crackiepdx Thanks a lot!!
Way to go.You have impressed me.
So..sniff...sniff... Beautiful
Jacob Ferrera Sniff...sniff...aaachew...Thanks

Kenitehunter Thanks!!
According to Rick Beato, this song was done in two takes. So much talent ...
Not into these dudes half heard them today at work for the 1st time..so im home on youtube um wicked solo i guess👍
“To seek the sacred river Alph
To walk the caves of ice
To break my fast on honey dew
And drink the milk of Paradise…”
I had heard the whispered tales
Of immortality
The deepest mystery
From an ancient book. I took a clue
I scaled the frozen mountain tops
Of eastern lands unknown
Time and Man alone
Searching for the lost - Xanadu
Xanadu - To stand within The Pleasure Dome
Decreed by Kubla Khan
To taste anew the fruits of life
The last immortal man
To find the sacred river Alph
To walk the caves of ice
Oh, I will dine on honey dew
And drink the milk of Paradise
A thousand years have come and gone
But time has passed me by
Stars stopped in the sky
Frozen in an everlasting view
Waiting for the world to end
Weary of the night
Praying for the light
Prison of the lost - Xanadu
Xanadu - Held within The Pleasure Dome
Decreed by Kubla Khan
To taste my bitter triumph
As a mad immortal man
Nevermore shall I return
Escape these caves of ice
For I have dined on honey dew
And drunk the milk of Paradise
RC-SkunkWorX Neil Peart's lyrics for this, are a basic interpretation of the literary genius of a complicated
author from the 16 century Samuel Taylor Coleridge. He wrote a poem for his children about a man's search 4
immortality entitled "Xanadu ".Some of the lyrics from Neil, are almost word for word.Coleridge also wrote
"Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner"which Steve Harris (Iron Maiden)reinterpreted for their musical score. I cannot
recommend a more fascinating author than Coleridge.✨🎼🙏🏼🎼✨🇨🇦
ALL the World's an EPIC!
I love BARAKA, it's a great accompaniment
muito bom!!! sempre vislumbrei isso ao ouvir essa musica!!!
I LOVE RUSH ♥️🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Great vid-love the end
more more more ty killer vidz
Thanks !
Good job dude! Well done!
+David James Thanks!!
The Cameras Eye vid brought a tear to my eye. Just beautiful. I've never been to New York but that vid was perfect for the song.
Peace
So why is this age restricted
At 5:00 you can see Borobudur Temple in Indonesia for a few seconds.
Great Video ;)
MaxDemian1986 Thanks!!
great video!
Thanks !!
eccelent
This video is not available in my country, Canada, where the band is from... That's a little bit ironic
I'm sorry to hear that but thanks for trying. If it were up to me...;-) !!
I'd like to believe that, like they say about the Dalai Lama, Neil Peart has re-incarnated into another shell of this mortal coil.
I. "Buenos Nochas, Mein Froind !"
II. "To Sleep, Perchance to Dream..."
The sleep is still in my eyes
the dream is still in my head
I heave a sigh
and
Sadly Smile
and
Lie awhile in bed...
I wish that it might come to pass
Not fade like all my dreams
Good song. What really spoiled things is an ad inserted in the last three minutes of the song. Getting ready to ditch RUclips altogether.
And what’s up with those eleven dislikers?
They dislike you for questioning them.
Brain dead !
They were hit with particles in the Great Accretion Disk...
excefugginlint
+Phase Sphere frigginthanksalot!! lol
Why do we rush around so?
Ok I just came
Do a vid to Fare Well To Kings.
Out-frigging-standing!
Wowwwww!!
Tip top!
Reminds me of that movie. Paraquatsi from the early days. But better. I spelled it wrong. But it ment life out of balance. It was cool but the message wasn't.
The human elements are kinda freaky. Incredible cosmic imagery, but when the human interface happens, the video gets too weird...
the shit they are putting out today :( these modern bands do not know how to put together a concept album
In the end there can only be RUSH!
You got the Mad Imortal Man switched with the Praying Men
It's a sad day to discover this piece of art with the lost of Neil Peart , THE best drummer of the Universe. Yes, this video is just Awesome. Bravo ! R.I.P Neil
Neil is now The Immortal Man.
Yes.
We lost the greatest rock drummer of all time
Neil will never be lost as long as others, such as yourself, find him.
you know,...i have just today discovered your video's to several rush songs. you sir, should look into what it would involve to put these incredible videos on the big screen with a amazing sound system to go with them. i'm thinking imax!! hell, i for one would pay to see it!! " A Evening With Rush, A Music and Visual Journey". i'm sure you'd have to include the boys in on it for royalties, but i think they would love the idea!!! you should totally do it. the videos are amazing!!!!
I thank you sir! While I appreciate the sentiment, I'm not sure (for a variety of reasons) that is a viable option. Quite kind of you none the less. Thanks again!
so would I!
amen to that ..keep me in the loop..i cant wait to see more of these
Of course the music is most excellent but the video is literally in and out of this world!! Nice job
As complex as this song can be it's incredibly beautiful & flows from one end to the last. Geddy Lee here singing Xanadu is absolutely amazing, such passion in his voice in an 11+ minute masterpiece. Nice video. It would have ben nice to have inserted fades of the band playing, however i do understand how hard creating videos can be with so much footage to sift through. It could be considered "my favorite headache", (wink). Good job.
ThunderZandor Thanks!
“My favorite headache” I saw what you did there. 😉
When I saw this live on their final tour it was so amazing!! Love RUSH!
I cannot believe how so few people have watched this it a classic !!!!
im sure the official version has millions of views
I can't believe how few rush fans there are. Just goes to show u how many unintelligent and unintellectual people there really are...
@@talentwasted2640 I totally agree!
Uma das músicas mais lindas que ja ouvi na minha vida ate hoje! Uma dadiva de Deus tamanha genialidade
The visuals are amazing here. Epic job and work so well in tune to this amazing song.
You know that your work is pristine when EVERY comment raves about it's excellence. You certainly are the man !!
