I LOVE the way you express yourself and always look forward to your videos, so thankful to have found your channel! You're very articulate and present books I've never heard of, so thank you for that. :) Also, I LOVED what you said about same-sex relationships in literature, we definitely need to talk about them more!
The cover of Winter Sonata by Dorothy edwards is gorgeous! The story behind the aouthor is also intriguing. Love seeing these new publishers and unknownlesser-known books.
I have learned SO MUCH from you about literature.💕 I taught in a bilingual classroom for 14 yrs in K -2nd grd & these past 3 yrs I have been teaching ESL in K- 5th which has allowed me to focus more on language (no math or science☺) but literacy & has given me, FINALLY, more time to read. What I learn I share with my students- well developed characters, plots, comprehending what you read, assessing you beliefs, etc.. like y all you have mentioned. I have discovered this summer that I LOVE Victorian literature & i want my students to read a variety of books & genres in both English & Spanish to find what they like or don't like. I want them to develop a LOVE for reading in the genre or genres they like. To explore. Thank you so much for sharing your love of reading, books & your experiences. It's encouraging & inspiring.💕
I really enjoy this video about woman and writers welsh classics I never heard of before being from Australia . Like hearing about classics set in different times as well and subjects.
Omg, you're the first booktuber i hear talking about Sylvia Townsend Warner! I absolutely love Lolly Willows as one of my favorite novel of all times. I also loved Mr Fortune's Maggot and The pure heart. But I admit ive been a bit disappointed with Elfins kingdom and her last novel, The Corner who held them as well. Anyways, I think this author deserve the shoutout. Very late on this video sorry. Always a pleasure to watch. Brontë sis fan too 💖💖✌😉 btw, about fantasy genre you might like a novel called Lud in the mist, a classic written by a woman (cant remember the name) even before Tolkien wrote his masterpiece!
So happy to see you’re back. Love your hauls and especially what you said at the start. A reason I haven’t done many also. Some really interesting books and Claudine is one I’ve been wanting to pick up. Jill sounds like one that will be so good to read.
Wonderful video! I’ve wondered about (and mourned) the shortage of women writers in Science Fiction... especially considering the place Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein holds in the genre’s development.
There are so many lovely finds in this video that I hadn't heard of! Thank you for shining a light on these small presses :). I actually decided recently to work on my French so I'm currently making my way through Claudine and finding her quite daring and very funny!
Love your channel thank you. The theme of actions and consequences, is explored in Anna karenina. That was a big message for me, when I read it. Loved that book.
Not classics, but I think you might enjoy Patricia A. McKillip's fantasy, my favourites so far have been Ombria in shadow & Song for the Basilisk. Her writing style is very beautiful and poetic, and even though she's a modern author her books feel somehow timeless (at least for me). Interesting video, will definitely add some of these on my tbr 😊
Miss Autumn I think The forgotten beasts of Eld, Alphabet of thorn or Ombria in shadow are all good places to start. They're stand alones, under 350 pages so you'll get a good taste without having to commit for months.
Loved the reason for this haul! Some of these sound really interesting!!! I was also wondering which of the Penguin Little Black Classics you would recommend?
"La maison de Claudine" (Claudine's house ?) is one of my favourite books, I need to re-read it and if you love nature, you'll probably love it. I am lucky to live not too far from St Sauveur en Puisaye where Colette was born :)
Bonsoir Lucy ! Merci pour cette nouvelle vidéo ! I was very glad to get to notification for this video and Boy! You made me want to read most of these! I haven't bought any classics to recomment recently, I've been reading mostly fantasy lately. Thank you again for this video, it was great to hear and see you! :) Best, Aster
Good lord! YT comes through for me for once in their recommendations feed. Loved you mentioned Woman in White, one of my favorite books of all time. This is waaaaay better than Amazon algorithms. Loved this video. Subscribed!
The Penguin English Library editions are just sooo gorgeous 😍 I have a few but I would like to own more of them
While they're gorgeous they lack features as the black classics.

Her work sounds interesting from what you've said in your comment. Which of her books would you recommend starting off with?

@@outi3852 Thanks for the recommending her stand alone works. :) I'll be adding them to my TBR.
Miss Autumn Hope you will enjoy them 😊

Wow very interesting books! Great haul!
I read Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier recently and it was absolutely brilliant!
Try The Secret Diaries of Anne Lister , the woman known as Gentleman Jack. You might get a lot out of it.
Loved this video, like I always do!
Now, I know what I'm going to be reading ... Stephen King but I'll also read The Lighthouse.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Where can I get the Hono books from? Never heard of these books. Will look out for them
Always love your videos! Thank you!! "Howard's End" with Anthony Hopkins is currently available on Netflix in the U.S. It's such a great video.
