I have a 2007 Pegaso 650 Trail, I love it. It’s great to see it reviewed well at long last. It’s a great ADV and a real hidden gem in my opinion 😎

  • @MrDazza64

I must admit, I think Mr Sidekick has possibly found himself a real hidden gem there! Having seen the bike in the flesh, it really did impress me. Especially as it is powered by the same, highly regarded and proven Yamaha engine as the XT660Z Tenere.
Which is a very reliable engine and relatively easy and cheap to maintain yourself. In fact, any half decent mechanic, anywhere in the world could have you up and running again in no time! This is why the Tenere has been a popular choice of many round the world adventure riders over many years.
There’s no such thing as the perfect bike, a few little changes like footpegs, Seat, barkbusters etc are tweaks riders would do to any bike!
The main thing is, getting out and using the thing and not just keeping a garage queen to wash and polish on a Sunday!
    Good buy Dazzler dude. 👍
    Regards,
    Dazza. 🇬🇧

I am driving this bike since 2016. No problems at all. I love how easy is driving in the city. Two exhausts are beautiful, backfire is a piece of art and very good acceleration. No good at low RPM because it shakes a lot and above 160 you are not feeling very safe

    What a great review.
I have been looking for my first 'big' 'road' bike (I have a WR250 for laning), that can cope with a commute and a few larger trips.
Been looking at the BMW F/G650GS single, the G310GS and some others (KLE500, Transalp etc..) I had come to the conclusion that either a 2000- BMW 650, or the KLE was the answer, but the BMWs hold their money and the KLE is a bit 'old' in terms of tech. (The Himmy is out as I have a 34 inside leg and I look like a grasshopper sat on it!). Budget is c.£3k.
Discovered the Pegaso last night - Looks like the right combo of modern, tall, reliable and cheap for me. On the hunt now!

Had 1 of these bikes it was fantastic, its got a 660 Yamaha made engine! From The Yamaha xt 660 trail they won many races! Great on petrol 60/65 mpg driving sensible! Really comfortable bolt up right riding! they had a recall, the bike could cut out on you! But Aprila put it right for nothing! think it was to do with fuel injection! Only reason i got rid of bike iwas a little short at 5ft 6in on tip toe! Double stainless still exhaust pipes! Plus brembo brakes. I'd recommend getting one! not many about of these trail versions around, more strada version around! My bike was 2008.

Minarelli engine same as in Yam XT660 Tenere & a few MZ models as well I think. Engine supposed to be just about unburstable. The Aprilia's have a few known niggles - electrics and fuel pump. I've just bought a Strada (Italian for street)...

A great bike. It has a personality of its own though, you better not put her at less that 3.5k rpm (even more important off road) or you risk it missbehaving. I had some issues like plastics getting rotted which i just put tape on and they've held for 3y now. It also has nice power for highways

Got myself a Brixton bx125 in August. Nice little bike. It is my first! Bought it used for 2000€ (in Greece) and now I'm already bored of it. I'm looking for an aprilia pegaso now and I saw your review. Truly one of the best reviews I have come across.
I'm 1,86m and 105kg. Would you recommend the pegaso for me?

    • @HelmetHead
      @HelmetHead  2 года назад +1

Absolutely, it seems to be a great bike at a great price. Aprilia seem to have put alot into it. I'd always say test ride first to make sure you're happy, but I'm sure you will be!! 👍

When you’re riding an overweight 23HP starter bike, maybe a little bit more humility might endear you to your YT audience. Will consider subscribing when you figure that out.
The Pegaso is a very good bike. Thank you for sharing.
