I have been hiking on the NCT in Michigan since 2016 and really appreciate the people who maintain it.

Growing up in Minnesota, when my folks bought a piece of land, 40 acres north or Nisswa, the first thing they did was cut a trail around the property through the woods and along the bog. We girls spent many many days walking and biking the loop for exercise.

What about camping? Where is camping allowed along the entire trail? Thank you

I didn't hike the entire NCT, but yes, there is camping. Each section has their requirements. Some have designated camp sites where multiple parties may camp, and others allow wild camping.
It's a great trail. I went from Two Lakes in Minnesota to Ely Minnesota to Kenton in Upper Michigan.
Be sure to check water accessibility and resupply options. Trail angel assistance is greatly appreciated as food supplies are not necessarily near the trail.
Safe and happy travels wherever you may go. 😊

What’s the best part of the trail for a day hike for views of superior in Michigan or Wisconsin?

I think the NCT is longer than it should be. It's odd that it starts in North Dakota and it doesn't connect the other states very well. It lacks a theme other than being located north. I feel like it could have been routed better to not be so windy and try to connect so many places.
