I always love when performers get their”moment” of true recognition after they have been there quietly giving their all for years without much notice. Hope she gets an Oscar nomination!
Very underrated actor with a very interesting career. I'd guess she's the only person who can say they've worked with Michael Haneke, Lars von Trier, and Lorne Michaels.
It's not exactly a great movie, but I love it. Her and JK Simmons and Frances Conroy are gems. It's also especially funny with the names and the dialect (in this and other things set in the Minnesota area) since I'm from Norway.
I remember watching this lady playing Tina, Phil Hartman's wife in the 1994 movie "Greedy," with Michael J. Fox and Kirk Douglas. She also played Salma Hayek's best friend, Lanie, in the 1996 movie, "Fools Rush In," which also starred Matthew Perry, Jill Clayburgh, and John Bennett Perry, Matthew's dad. Siobhan was very funny in both roles.😆👍🏾
@@BuildinWings 👍🏾👍🏾😁😁 True story. A few friends of mine were also in the movie. The Team Brunswick Staff. John Petraglia, Mark Roth, Randy Pedersen, Brian Voss, and Amleto Monacelli. John had worked and trained Michael J. Fox on his bowling for his role as Danny McTeague in the movie. I never had the opportunity to meet Michael, but John spoke about him with amazing respect and kindness.👏🏾🙏🏾👍🏾
This is so fascinating because I interviewed Siobhan a week before this. I’m mostly a local journalist and arts writer w limited experience interviewing celebrities but I’ve never had a celebrity interview go on Seth Meyers the week after I interviewed them. What’s insightful to me is that while I hope that I dug deep and came up with the truly original questions the world has seen, there was overlap in Seth and my questions, and even when there wasn’t Siobhan steered the answers so that she was able to hit the same talking points. I didn’t actually ask about her family or how many days she took it to film but I came away with that information. What’s also interesting is that Seth clearly was heavily prepped and worked backwards. It’s almost as if the two worked in tandem for the most interesting conversation but still had the spontaneity bc they didn’t meet beforehand to rehearse Anyway, I have a couple celebrity interviews on my channel and will be posting my Siobhan interview shortly.
I remember her from SNL! And Seinfeld. And Forrest Gump. And it turns out she's in a lot of other stuff I've seen, 7 other movies and 1 other TV series.
@@trakiul5556 I'm actually a hick from Brewerton 😂 but now I want to know what bar they filmed this in; may have to go see the movie just to see if I can ID it 😂
I love her. I see her in many cool movies, including a darkly hilarious turn in “The House that Jack Built “. Other than her fun part in Forest Gump, I thought she only did Art films, which is what I know her from, (after her year on SNL). “We Need to Talk About Kevin”, “Dancer in the Dark “, etc. Turns out she’s in a ton of films!! Not just my artsy fartsy favorites! Always wondered how she went from a quick year on SNL to showing up in multiple Lars von Trier (sp?) films! Because she’s talented!! Big fan here.
Most likely it's just performer's cadence, I've noticed certain types of performance use a specific cadence. And she's excited, she's getting her moment in the sun! I know several "let's put on a showww" women, I think it's more common than we realize. She has some physical similarities to Bette, that's probably more of it than her voice.
Underrated actress. Love her.
She was so awesome on saturday night live! Wish she stayed longer.

Great character actress too. She makes the absolute most of every line and glance.
“That’s why there’s a buzzer!” Best line delivery ever.

Siobhan always exudes incredible energy! Support a great film and awesome cast - go see it!

Love her so much as Blanche in one of my favorite movies New in Town! She is so talented ❤

I remember Greedy! That's the movie that introduced me to Jimmy Durante and Ed Begley Jr.

Seth didn't mention she had previously played Bjork's prison gaurd in 'Dancer In The Dark'!

It hit me when I saw her that she played Stanley's mother in Holes. Truly amazing.
So versatile. She can play anything. And OMFG, they filmed it here in Syracuse???

she was great in men in black as beatrice
Met Peter and Paul in Funny Games.

Is she related to or just trying to be like Bette Midler? She has the same cadence and voice. 🤷♀️

Good one.
Is that a man?😵💫
