    Howard got older. That's no crime. You are not going to be the same person at 65 that you were at 30. I am an old time listener. I was listening here in NY before Gary had even become his producer. Those old shows from the 80's and 90's made me lol like nothing else, but I was always aware that some of it was very mean spirited. Sometimes, I thought he did go too far. He could be ruthless in an effort to get a laugh. The new Howard is not as funny imo, but I'm glad he grew as a person

    • @hall911guy
      @hall911guy 5 лет назад +4

      clash5j Very well said and I completely agree, except with one point. Times change, people change and there’s nothing wrong with that; I believe that Howard is funnier now than he was back then. Back in the day, he was funny and edgy because he had to keep listeners and keep the FCC off his back, so he had to keep pushing the limits and crossing the line of what many back then saw as obscene or profane. Sometimes it worked, other times not. Now, on SiriusXM, he can be completely open, say what he wants, but now that he can be that way, when he’s now older, he’s had to find other, more creative ways to be that Howard that we’ve always loved; and I believe that newer way of being is better than before. Whether it’s the now fantastic interviews, to the stupid shtick with the staff members, to his banter with Robin, Gary and Fred that doesn’t have an agenda or a bit behind it (however, goofing on Baba Booey is always great radio), it’s his maturity and growth over the years, as well as ours, the audience, that still makes him funny and relevant and The King of All Media. I for one, will never quit listening to the Stern Show.

    • @Wongwongwong10000
      @Wongwongwong10000 5 лет назад +6

      clash5j Yeah, but why alienate your old fans? He should grow up but still try to be funny and keep your old fans. Most of his old fans are gone, his knew fans are probably very liberal and never listened to the old show when it was racist, controversial and FUNNY. Howard Stern Show was so crazy and fucking funny you would be in tears laughing now he is just a shell of his old self,he should retire.

      @@hall911guy I agree with you. Imagine how sad it would be to be a 65 year old frat boy? He still has the same silly humor, but he has matured and has become so much more interesting. I do not agree with his politics, but I am interested in what he has to say. Howard is thought provoking and curious in his interviews. I could listen to him talk to David Spade all day. I miss Joan Rivers on the show. I love his interaction with his peers ( Robin, Fred and Gary) and the rest of his crew and wack pack, Like you, I will never quit listening......although I tune out Jeff the Vomit Guy, that is just nasty! @@Wongwongwong10000 I'm in my twenties, I've listened to him since I was about 8 years old. My parents didn't allow me, but I would sneak it. I'm totally okay with all the racist jokes and homophobic jokes that he used to make, I don't think he ever had hate in his heart as far as those subjects we're concerned, he just wanted to be outrageous to make his audience laugh. I appreciate it and I still do to this day when I listen to all the old shows, even if they are a little harsh. That being said, I absolutely love the show right now. He's never been funnier the shows never been better. Sometimes you just got to do what's in your heart, and while you might have to consider your fans it's very important to not stray away from doing what you feel is right . In modern terms, Howard's doing him and living his best life. That's fucking awesome. With all these lame celebrities and sub celebrities that are controversial and phony, he's just a representation of pure genuineness. Long live the king! ✊🏿🤘🇺🇸

      And aids. Also their was a chicago dj mancow who's father died and howard said he was going to have sex with mancows dead daddys skull. If howards new a list friends heard the stuff he said theyd be cringing. Howard became howard hughes or the fictional character citizen kane. When he was a dj in ny making great money he still was relateable to the common man. Hes worth 500 million he admits to people he cant relate to the common man anymore and of course he cant. So unfortunately a lot of his old fans feel betrayed but isnt this what happens with most people who make it? They start out hungry make their millions and change. Im glad hes no longer having young girls come in to strip bc it would be really gross to see a 65 year old man drooling over an 18 year old. His eldest daughter is in her mid 30s. He became don imus someone he hated. A guy who dumped his wife and 3 adult daughters for a much younger woman who he pushed onto tv shows and wrote books. If u listen to howard bashing imus in the 90s hes talking about his future self ironically. We all change. Howard honestly does not have the power and listeners he had in his prime. Hes smart bc hes on satellite where its difficult to do ratings on who is listening . He only does 3 shows a year. Its all interviews. I hear the interviews arent even that good he just asks questions from wikipedia . He has a much longer forum to ask a lot of questions that u cant possibly do on late night or an hr show with commercials on network tv. He also ripped jay leno and carson for hanging on into their 60s but same could be said for howard that its time to retire. Also hes not a good man scott salem his long time engineer was not allowed to ask for money for his wife who died of cancer. His cousin stacy was dying howard didnt help at all either stacy also did a go fund me acct. If i had 600 million dollars and a cousin or 30 year employee needed chump change to help pay for cancer treatments i cant see myself not helping .

    I was a late-bloomer to Howard. I began listening in '94 when he appears on WJRR in Orlando and it was the best radio I'd heard in my life. I was only 26 then. Howard grew up as I'd grown up and I appreciate his work to this day because he didn't keep reverting back to old habits - or at least rely on them as his continuing "schtick" (Stern fans will get that reference). He still does some infantile stuff, but that seems to really be there just to keep a little of that original sparkle alive.

It’s not for me but I’ve accepted that the man can’t be great forever. I never got mad at Jordan when he retired or Gandolfini when Sopranos ended, so I shouldn’t be mad at Howard. For me it was the Jackie era up to about 2009 or so w Artie, that 20-25 yr period was the funniest shit I’ve ever heard in my life on radio or tv. Howard deserves to enjoy his success n chill out n not worry about ratings or subscribers all the time. Nobody can ever say he didn’t earn it.

    A person must prove they are that 'different person' for a good time after the change. Too many capitalize on the Prodigal Son. Isn't it great he came home and was accepted, etc. What happens after a time? Return to same attitudes? What about that brother? He could sit back and say, yeah, we'll see how long that lasts! What about the simplest of us that don't get all that opportunity and experience? Are we to be overlooked or thought of as lesser? My philosophical rant. ...and as someone else said, 'where is the cancer scare part?" On some other video...and why did it take cancer to turn him around? Too many unanswered questions that even if attempted won't address the deeper issues.

    I'm not the biggest Howard apologist by a long shot. But those who don't like him have the worst argumentation ever. First of all, they hate Howard, but are on Howard clips an awful lot. By now you know if you like Stern. If you don't like him, why would you go to his clip? And the rap is always the same: He's a sellout. But for every 5000 times someone says that, wouldn't you expect an explanation as to how maybe once? No, it's just "he's a sellout." No explanation. No argument. Just spitting from a rooftop and running away type argumentation. You can't deny that Howard haters are palpably duller than the rest of the population. Go look at the comments. Notice the lack of language skills. Notice the inability to explain oneself. Notice the bizarre practice of seeking something out that they know they don't enjoy. There are a lot of things I feel a lot stronger about than defending Stern, but never is the opposition as dimwitted as it is in this case. Never have I encountered a sorrier group. You can read all the anti-Howard comments with a Down's Syndrome voice in your head and it totally works.

    So the GMA show turned into a Howard Stern show really fast.

    I know it gets kind of laughed off at the end, but Howard hit on something profound when talking about George and his wife’s sex life. All the couples I have known in my life that have been happily married for 20, 30, even 40 years have sex frequently. Like, a lot. My Mom and Dad have been married 43 years. I once asked her, “What’s the secret?” She said very simply, “Sex”. It made me uncomfortable at the time, but I think there is really something to it.

    Most dishonest man in show business. It's vomit inducing how phony some people can be, but after pretending to be something he's not, he probably doesn't even know when he's lying anymore

    Sorry but old Howard was the man. He was right on point asking Robin Williams that question.

    The old Howard would have been interested in his SEX life too! I don't buy this whole NEW Howard. People don't change THAT MUCH. He changed for his WIFE and to cater to the ELITE class. He's no longer funny, edgy or even relatable. He became everything he used to rail against. He's not a man's man anymore. He's a WHIPPED man and that all started when he met Beth. FACT.

      It's called maturity. He evolved. After all, how many times can you have queefing vaginas and the Kelbasi Queen on?
      I dont listen to Howard just for the jokes, his interview style can't be matched.
