I was looking at doing something similar.. 1.4 unit into a 500s .. if I was paying someone to put the gearbox, engine etc what kinda cost would it be??
Thank you so much for making these videos, I've got a ford Ka mk2 which has the same chassis and engine as the fiat 500 as fiat built them and am in the process of doing an abarth conversion and constantly refer back to these videos. Did you have to add an offside hangar for the exhaust or did you just zip tie it up? I've restored a monza record exhaust to go on it and haven't looked at how im going to mount it yet 😅 thank you!!!
We added a hanger from the bolt on the rear crash bar as we were at home at the time and had no welder. Later we did a full 2.5 inch exhaust with 3" decat. If you are gonna be swapping the engine over, be careful as it's not very easy to make stock Ecu run the engine in another chassis. We used megasquirt 3 to make the engine run. If I was doing it again I would use EMU Black.
@@driftinrust Okay I'll fashion a hangar off the crash bar for now then too just so I can hear it. I have a friend that has already done the engine swap on their Ka but swapped over everything from a crashed abarth 500 so the interior and everything is identical with the abarth ecu and bcm etc. I plan on using an aftermarket ECU anyway so I can make my own wiring loom and gut everything non essential. Thank you!!!
@@transgrl nice! So if that's the case I would go for emu black, they have pnp harness for the stock engine wiring loom and I believe a basemap as well!
@@driftinrust damn that's really convenient, I'll definitely have a look into it. Will lyk how the exhaust mounting goes, I got the exhaust system rebuilt last year but they welded the centre pipe to the pipe that goes over the rear axle to the muffler so that's going to be fun to separate :))))
hi, how did you mount the muffler to the chassis, there are 3 points / hangers that need to be either screwed or welded to the chassis, do you have photos of these mounts from the bottom of the car, did you install a thermal tunnel under this muffler?
Just made a hanger off the bolts for the reinforcement bar. And used the original one on the passenger side. No thermal protection I don't think it needs it but if you want to be extra safe go for it.
This is bull , you fail to mention how you hung the driver's side exhaust hanger when the 1.2 model doesn't have it and also fail to mention that the spare wheel well is in the way , why don't you show us how you did it ?
On the drivers side I made a hanger that I attached to the reinforcement bar. Spare wheel well is definitely NOT in the way as the Abarth can be ordered with spare wheel as well and nobody will make separate chassis for entry level sport hatch! P.S. I made the hanger for like 2 mins out of junk in my garage!
I would love those rims on my car, I have the Fiat 500 twin air Sport. 104 hp. engine 6 speed.
I will ask Eli, but they might be for sale soon!
Sounds nice! 👍
Thanks. Sounds better now after some work. Will upload update video on the car next year 😁
Rims?? Wheels? They look fyee
They are Japan racing wheels.
Loving this .. 👍

Well done but the exaust record Monza is better 👋
Could be, never heard one.
I need a bigger garage for this kind of job!
You can do it!😁

Fiat not abarth 😢
It literally says fiat 500 in the video title 😂🤣 but tbh it has all the abarth stuff on it now so technically it is abarth.
Doesn’t sound good
Ok 😂😂
