Proud to say I am helping build this. Such an experience. I helped with the Diversion Tunnels, and now I am on the Auxiliary Spillway (Headworks). The video doesn't do it justice, this site is HUGE. Really cool to see with your eyes lol
YOU LUCKY SOUL. Take lots of clips and archive them. Keep a notebook for stat's and trivia. You will be glad you did.. and don't play poker. I worked on the first dam, 55 years ago. ENJOY THE RIDE and cherish the adventure for rthe rest of your life. I did, and at 77.. am happy I did
Are you a driller? laborer? Eng Tech with BCH? H E operator? What you do there, and being part of that project: It will be in your blood for the rest of your life.. and probably add 10 years to your time on Earth.. Hint: Avoid borrowing money to buy a depreciating asset. (Lamborghini or 800 hp Mustang).. but seek wisdom and invest wisely
You forgot the 55 moose that will drown, OH did you know that moose and deer can swim? For miles actually. Nobody gets displaced. They receive the going rate for their land.. but shame on us, for not shutting down the whole system so all 200of you won't have anything to cry about ? ! 🤪 but that is what you live for, and who am I to steal your joy???
@@hippy1002 just like when they built the Bennet dam ?forcibly removed the Dene flooded there land changing there way of life people drowned and those people now live in poverty unable to pay there hydro Bill's while there land generates 30 percent of all power to B.C ,is that the type of fairness your talking about?
The dam has serious geotechnical issues and is being built on geologically unstable ground in an area with lots of ground movement and riddled with faults and weak rock, and now very seismically active with all the fracking going on only 10 km away, a disaster in the making in my opinion.
No chance it’ll last 100 years, you should see the ground it’s being build on, also the earthquakes in the area due to fracking, no shot it’ll last that long
Since there's a bunch of concrete being mixed up in the area on route to a massive construction site like this the chances are you could find a cheap plot of land somewhere and pour a foundation for next to nothing $$.. title in hand, foundation poured, knock knock on bank door assist with rest. possible to do for next to nothing if you're willing to do the work yourself.
As construction is well on it's way for the $40 billion LNG project, for which the energy from Site C was intended, there won't be a whole lot left for California. Besides, California is well ahead of BC in green renewable energy, something Site C cannot claim to be. thetyee.ca/News/2018/01/24/Megadams-Not-Clean-Green/
Not when the dam is being built exclusively to power massive increases in LNG production. BC has been sold out to the fossil fuel industry at the expense of arable land, human health, public services and infrastructure, Indigenous rights, increases in GHG emissions and so much more.
People are actually mad about this project. At least it brings jobs where I'm currently working now for past few years and will have the experience to go else where once it's completed. Y'all getting mad about this might as well make it a nuclear power plant
Just think this project will never pay for itself. No good government would ever use tax payers dollars to build a dam and sell the power below cost. This money should have been spent on green sustainable energy.
You need to study Civil engineering. and the first dam was a Godsend............ I know, cuz I was there. and that dam is fully paid for. You lefties whine if there are fossil fueled plants, whine of there are windmills (which are very inefficient) and you whine of we use a water wheel. It is 35 below in parts of North America in winter, and 115 above in July. Would you be happy if we just shut down the whole grid and outlawed lawn mowers/ OOPS, I hear they are illegal in California. You guys have NO solutions, just criticism. We are suckers ... because we listen to you. What I really LOVE about snowflakes is this: They melt when the heat is on

You sound much like a disciple of David Suzuki. and I doubt you are even close . suzuki is a commie, True
@@hippy1002 David who?, lol, nice try sir douchalot
They’ve had to shut down construction due to earthquakes in the area, I give it 10 years until failure
Where are you guys when my power goes out? Oh wait ruclips.net/video/xEjPr01lbMg/видео.html
It's amazing that it will operate for more than 100 years. Truly a long-term investment.
This dam won't ever be worth the bloated costs, not even considered the huge environmental impact.

Awesome!!!

Huh ?
Clean energy for California!

Where it can be achieved in any country is one of the cleanest energy requirement available .Initial investment expensive but well worth it.

Great news! Awesome project for electric vehicles and to get us off dirty diesel and gas. Also excellent paying jobs
clueless fool..
Criminal, it is completed now and all land is lost. The culprits should be jailed.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

im in favor of it.

Kudos To Engineers who had dreamed for such wonderful project.👍
