Great break from the swamp. I used to have a camp on the corner of Evan's Canal in Fourchon (camp name was "Point Taken"). We crabbed every weekend we were down there. Things really turned on following the third weekend in May,,,, specs, reds, and mangrove around the rocks (and crabs). Then came Katrina. r/EW

When y'all go back for a weekend trip, try floundering with a light and gig in the same area after dark in about a foot of water. Trawling twine works good, not to big, & shower hooks. Pass the hooks through the turkey necks & clamp them back. Put some weights to keep the line on the bottom.

It’s really nice out there now, especially from about 20-30 yrs ago. But man whenever y’all get back home you should Dip those Ring-Nets in some shrimp net dip or mix some tar & gas together so that the tar is not so thick, an dip them in that. Then it won’t be so hard to get them Crabs out of your Ring-Nets buddy
Yea it’s nice down there for sure, my nets lol i tried to get the good ones but store was closed, so we just grabbed them from Walmart. But I was thinking of putting wire on bottom and dipping them,thanks👍✌️
Cool to see how you crab there in Northern California we use ambush crab rings for dungeness crab they work the best we have found they are kinda spendy though thanks for taking us along another great video
You'll get more crabs if you let the chicken sit in the sun for a day and get really stinky. Try it you'll see! Make sure to wear latex gloves though. Love the video!

Sometimes u hit right there but the best spot is closer to the reef when u 1st come into grand isle by the bridge and the bait store but u will go to the beach u can cast net shrimp 🍤 there Sometimes too

My favorite get away place! They are rebuilding the beach at the start of the island by Bridge Side where it washed away in the hurricane.
