Hi George I just wanted to say “thank you” for going to Ayia Thekla for me, it was so lovely to be able to look around there, due to health problems we haven’t been able to get to Cyprus for 6 years now, we first came to Cyprus back in 1980 when we spent our honeymoon at Nissi Beach Hotel, Ayia Napa was just a small fishing village back then, it was so beautiful and as you can imagine it was nothing like the modern day Ayia Napa and although I still love it I do prefer how it was back then so totally unspoilt, before my health problems we hired a private villa for quite a few years in Ayia Thekla and loved it there as it is so much quieter and as you said in the video much less busy than Ayia Napa. We hope to be able to get back to Cyprus as soon as my health allows us too, it will always have a special place in my heart, I just hope that they do not spoil Ayia Thekla with too much development. Thank you once again George for doing the little trip around Ayia Thekla and allowing me to be able to look around. Kind regards Susan
Another lovely vlog of beautiful Cyprus i cant wait for August next year to come around, and i just love seeing the different places you can visit and the lovely beaches, it will be my first time but looking on here just makes me feel like i will be returning again and again thanks George and Sue and i do hope you are both well .
Morning George and crew .Great video vlog again .The area your showing looks like a plan by the government to link up famagusta. Eventually when they getting back .Its important to know your politics in Cyprus. But Cyprus changed since joining the EU has more big friends then before .
I went this week...twice! Its a single storey mall with food court. Crazy busy as it just opened. It has the usual selection of shops, some not open yet. The food court consists of some fast food outlets, KFC, McDonalds and also has a TGI Fridays, Paul's and Verde Restaurant, Starbucks, Zorbas Bakery. There's also an AlphaMega supermarket inside with a coffee bar. Parking was very full but we managed to find a space fairly easily.
Thanks for another lovely vlog! BTW, having a question - is the Marina in Ayia Napa completely open? Can one go to any of the restaurants and bars over there?
HI George it's Mark who gets a cheeky mention at 0.47 secs. A really great vlog but if you would have drove on to the development just after The Zafia Bar you may have seen my villa. You can't miss it its the best one on there. The people you met in the bar are there Every Afternoon and are a great crowd and keep the bar going in the quieter months. Also the shoe box villas you saw are priced at €4 million EUROS ( allegedly). The beach bar at Ayia Thekla are good Freinds of mine who run the beach Vassos is the guy who looks after you. He was on the video sat down eating as you walked on. Adam is the main lifeguard on there. I've known them both for over 10 years and are great guys to know. The restaurant is fabulous at the back of beach and the portions are HUGE. You won't be disappointed if you go. The bar on the beach is a Cocktails Bar for those who fancy something different other than Keo or Leon. Regarding Nisaki Beach that's only been there for about 18 months and was completed during Lockdown but they are adding things on a monthly basis ( like the new beds and brollys etc ) I've been using that beach for the last 13 years so I know ha. The Big container you passed is full of Stock for the bar plus Fridges. Apparently they do lovely food but as yet I not tried it. The bar itself is great early evening when you can watch the sun go down with a shisa pipe and cocktail all while listening to a live Dj or some chill out music through a great sound system. The other bar used to be called Lucas after its owner who has sadly passed away but he was a bit of a local legend and to be fair he was indeed a great guy. They now have Bingo and Quiz nights on and also as you say its a Live Music Venue ( but mainly for Cypriots etc ). To finish i would highly recommend any of the beaches you featured as they have Strict Rules including No Ball Games No Loud Music No Pets etc and Vassos will tell you the rules in no uncertain terms. The little Ayia Thekla Church is also worth a visit in the early evening to watch the Sun go down. It really is a very special place down there and a bit of a hidden gem, and we hope it stays that way. Thanks again George. Mark Ayia Thekla
Just to add. You are getting the bars mixed up. The first one is the main one Ayia Thekla Beach Bar ( and the best in my opinion ). The second one is old Lucas Restaurant/Bar but is now a music venue. The third Beach Bar is Nisaki and the newest of three and a lot more trendy than the other two. Also you are right in saying about the market at Lucas on a Wednesday morning. But unfortunately its not very good anymore. The last time I went August 2021 there were 8 stalls on there selling mostly tat and underwear and friut and veg. The only stall of any merit sold Ladies Clothes so no good to me then. If you would like any other information just drop me a message and I'll be more than glad to help. Mark
Afternoon George another quality video from beautiful sunny Cyprus, I miss the stunning beaches
