Playing Kingston Heath. Shooting 63. Playing Maura irons. Puring it with that swing. Doesn’t get much better really, does it? That said, the first hole is a 230m par four - really?
Always good to watch that swing! Still think the long putter or any version other than conventional should have been outlawed years ago. If you're struggling with the putter you just have to work on it the same as the other parts of the game. There's no help with drivers or irons so why should there be with the putter?
No help with drivers?...adjustable weights, loft, lie angle. There's more changeable driver settings than any other club. What's the issue with a long putter?
@@adamrasmussen1839 of course drivers are adjustable etc but I just think a long putter helps too much with the player's weakness. I'm not getting at Adam as there's been plenty of guys use them over the years to win Majors etc. In fact I would have liked to see him win much more over his career with that swing and his demeanor. I just feel it should be the same for everyone and if putting is your weakness then you put more time into it to make it better not go to a long putter which masks your weakness. Players like Seve especially were never great drivers of the ball but they just had to grin and bear it and made up for that weak part of their game with superb short game etc.
@AWP76 I get what you're saying but every player on tour has the option to use a long putter eh? I think if it was too advantageous, the PGA would've banned them just like anchoring.
@@adamrasmussen1839 it's just the guys that really struggle to putt conventionally that use them. Loads of players go with different grips like cross hand or claw etc but they still use the conventional putter. I just think it is an advantage to those guys who obviously struggle otherwise they probably couldn't compete? That's golf for you though, plenty of different opinions about it and each to their own!
@@awp7662 the point stands though - it’s within the rules so it’s not an ‘advantage’. Any player is welcome to use that style of putter if they choose.
@@0woled You drive, approach, chip and putt for the dough. It all matters, though Strokes Gained data shows if you compare two players of any skill level (even two tour pros), on average the better player gains two thirds of their advantage on shots outside 100 yards. So the efficacy of your swing is extremely important- but not how aesthetically pleasing it is. DJ's swing isn't as textbook as Scott but he's still been a prodigy tee-to-green.
@@mangoman2148 Scott's one of the greatest ball strikers of all time, especially irons, the stats showed it. He consistently ranked at the top in greens in regulation. His problem was is putting mostly and now he's reaching that age where winning is going to be more difficult

Yeah that's pretty standard, that's golf. One week you suck and the next you're killing it. Sometimes you play well for one round and the next round shoot a 80
He is swinging it the best he has in a long time.

Was out there watching him today. Great demeanor, looked in complete control, great clubbing with Steve.
Adam is playing well with Stevy carrying his bag 💪🏼
Que buen swing..!

Good on him switching to the long putter....... for a while now..

Miura. I meant Miura. Bloody autocorrect.
Wasn’t Heath, it was Vic.
@@mattstenson7187 ah, my mistake.
230m par 4?! Are they taking the piss?? Like what the heck is that a hole for schoolkids first up?! That is a par three ladies and gentleman.
A traditionally under-served tourney, which has course quality akin to some of the British majors.
@tour_pga509 no, i think you're won!
Them bunkers look absolutely nasty to get out of.
As hazards should be
Terrible decision to have a co-event for men and women. Yet more woke politics and women piggybacking off the men.
Always like you in Red babe
I thought that anchoring the long putter was illegal now.
He's not anchoring, it's another technique they've come up with.
Great swing, really arrogant, though.

I love his swing but clearly not his cheaty ass putter…
It's a good thing that the officials don't share your narrow ass opinion.
Whatever complies with the rules and gets it in the hole.

That swing should have more wins and majors
Unfortunately for Adam they don't hand out prizes for the prettiest swing.
