- First aired on January 25, 1988 - Episode 10 of Season 1 - In this episode, Ryan believes that a half-man, half-monster comic-book hero has come to life and is responsible for the murder of a shopkeeper.
In this series, an old antique dealer made a pact with the Devil to sell cursed antiques. When he dies, his store is inherited by his niece Micki Foster (played by Louise Robey) and her cousin Ryan Dallion (played by John D. LeMay). With the help of Jack Marshak (played by Chris Wiggins), they fight to retrieve the antiques from the people who bought them to stop them from causing harm. The series ran for three seasons, from October 3, 1987, to May 26, 1990, in first-run syndication.
Despite this title of the series, it has no story connections to the film series of the same title, as Jason Voorhees does not make an appearance, nor does any character connected to the films.

I love anthology series like Tales From the Crypt and Tales From the Darkside and even the new Creepshow. Ive always wanted to watch this but it was hard since they didnt show em anymore and also I didnt know if I would like it but after watching this, I'm beating myself up for not getting into it earlier.

I really liked that series just couldn't understand the title. Like you would think it was about Jason from the Friday the 13th movies but it has nothing to do with it. Still a great series, looking forward to more episodes.
Per Wikipedia: Originally, the series was to be titled The 13th Hour, but producer Frank Mancuso Jr. thought this would turn away viewers and instead took the name Friday the 13th to deliberately draw in audiences. Despite this title and the fact that it is officially considered a part of the franchise, the series has no story connections to the film series of the same title, as Jason Voorhees does not make an appearance, nor does any character connected to the films.
The series and the films have several cast and crew ties, however. The show's producer, Frank Mancuso Jr., was producer of the film series from Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) until the final installment distributed by Paramount (Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan in 1989, a year before the TV series ended). One of the show's stars, John D. LeMay, went on to star in Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, guest star John Shepherd played Tommy Jarvis in Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, and episode director David Cronenberg appeared in Jason X. Fred Mollin, Rob Hedden, and Tom McLoughlin worked behind the scenes of both series.
John carpenter wanted to do the same with Halloween but the studios wanted a part 2& so he couldn't do it!

My recently deceased uncle was on the crew of this show. I believe he worked on lighting. He also had a few bit parts in a few episodes, so im trying to locate him.

One scene is he’s at the end of the hallway and she’s her at the other the lights flicker over her as she gets closer sitting in a wheelchair finally he gets in the elevator and the lights go off than on and she’s right in there with him. So why did the comic book creator come to life when anyone that grabbed the comic book from 1947? Why did it wait until the 80's to finally come to life in person?
