@tieshkasandes2667. I just turned 50 a couple of days ago. I remember hearing this cut when I was a little child back when my mom was a young 30-something playing this on her stereo. Remember them stereos when they were rectangular, and they were made outta wood and you opened the top like a coffin? 😆😆 My mom had one of those.

When I saw the video on Facebook of the people stepping in the street to this song a year ago I thought to myself man I haven't heard this song in 30 years! Unbelievable how one song from back in the day can make you feel so good and remind you of how great and simple times were back then , way before computers and socal media came and tore us apart , just to hear those strings in the simple arrangement is enough for you to long for those days again, and the lyrics of a man singing about his love for his lady is something that these young guys could learn today if they were to just listen . I'm so glad I was a young man back in 1980 and have this music , we are so fortunate to know what real feelings and music was , my mother used to say" it's a way to do things "' , being classy, tasteful and respectful was the key to life . Young folks will never know what that is , and we will never hear music like this or see anything like Soul Train again, so sad...

@@mongrelgtv yeah I think they took it from RUclips and Facebook, probably for copyright, that’s why I watched it as much as I could over the past few years, in case they took it down. So unfortunate, I always would go back to that video to make me feel good. I wish someone would put it back up .

I'm still jamming on this! I was at ft. Gordon ga. 17 years old in the army when this came out. Met my wife from New York there. We are in our 60s now & enjoy these throw backs. Yes. She's still putting up with me😂❤

I remember when I saw him on Soul Train in 1980 singing this song and how emotional I got. I had been a fan since his first album, and it just killed me that he wasn't more widely known ... then this song on his superbly done second album put him on the map. Larry Graham plays bass on this song/album, by the way. :)

This song brings back so many memories...I was in love love love so I thought, but I remember listening to this record singing it and crying at the same time. It was a terrible moment for me not the song but the way I was feeling at the time. This record made me sad and comforted me at the same time. In the nutshell I love this song and always will.
