    You could use second derivative to test for max/min too!

    Wonderfull video, How can you find the domain of the radius, Thanks

      Height cannot be negative. Radius should therefore be less that square-root of 192. Hope that helps. Thanks

    The radius and height of a cylinder add up to 30 inches. Find the value of the radius and height that generate the maximum volume. help pleaseeeee

      maximum volume of cylinder is when diameter and height are equal, h = d = 2r.
      r + h = 30. since h = 2r, we can write r + 2r = 30
      3r = 30 or r = 10 inches and h = 60 inches
      thanks

    Determine the maximum volume of material to be used, in cm^3 in order to produce the hollow shaft that has surface area of 10π cm^2. (Given r = 3R/4) R is outer radius, r is inner radius. Please help me 😭🙏🏻

    what is the unit use for the height and radius? inches or cm?

    • @MathematicsTutor
      @MathematicsTutor  6 лет назад

      it is cm for both radius and height in this example
      Thanks
