Rockwell was a regular human before he turned into what he is.. He became obsessed with Element which he personally named after himself, Edmundium(Edmund Rockwell), and he one day stumbled across a tribe on Abberation (the Tribe that first discovered TEK gear) that had found a use for the 'Element' by modifying it and turning it into what is now known as TEK gear. Various tribespeople warned him about the substance and said it could make him sick, but nevertheless he persisted and wanted to research and find out its power in its purest form. One day, he was taken down to the depths of the ARK to collect some of the substance. He got ahold of a good sample, and he decided to run tests and experiments on pure raw, unrefined Element. Looking for test subjects to try his new theory on the 'true' powers of pure Element in its raw, undilluted form, he injected the substance Element into a tribe member's light pet and it began to mutate before his eyes, gorging hundred times its own size and gaining unspeakable strength. However a tribe member named Diana took it down and killed it before it got worse, because it began to turn aggressive. Rockwell was infuriated so he decided that he should conduct experimentation on his own body because he knew no one would want to take a part of such a dangerous experiment. So he decided to fuse molten, unrefined Element with his own blood then injected it into himself, strapping his arm to prevent it from going into the rest of his body while he wrote about his findings. He was ecstatic, and unable to hold back on the urge to "ascend" and go god mode, so he decided to unstrap his arm so the Element goes through the rest of his body, and that is exactly how he became the monster he is now. He was literally obsessed and his obsession drove him to madness.
He isn’t actually attached to the ark. The story was revealed in the explorer notes. He tried transfusing liquid element into his blood to make him more powerful, which transformed him into a monster. He then destroyed the whole city (that’s were the ruins came from). He was eventually defeated by Helena (who wrote the dossiers) and mei-yin (another note-writing survivor). They knocked him through a hole and he ended up in that place. Helena, Mei-yin, and some other survivors then used a tek gateway to travel to earth (where the 3rd expansion, extinction, is set).
Yup. In the description of the season pass on steam, it says you get 3 expansions. Then it gives the description of scorched earth, aberration, and then it says “and a third expansion, extinction, that releases in spring 2018!”
I believe after the fight he fell into one of the ARKs gaurdian pods becoming part of the ARK, doomed to be summoned and killed by other survivors as a gaurdian.
The story of Rockwell is this... He was trapped by Overseer. Rockwell did never escape. He wanted to die so he jumped into the purple goo. The goo entered in his skin and for one hundred years later he emerged from the goo he was looking like how he is now.
He becomes power mad near the end of aberration. He only becomes that way because he injects himself with molten element and kills a bunch of people in the village. The overseer then takes back control of the ark and traps Rockwell in that chamber. To make him pay for trying to become a god, the overseer keeps him in a purgatory. Forced to attack and die to any survivor who fights him.
Sir Edmund Rockwell was a 19th Century British alchemist/botanist who awoke on The Island Ark. He lived there with the other tribes, creating recipes and being very interested in the flora of the Ark. Rockwell was joined by a Roman General, a Mei Yin, and a modern day Australian zoologist, Helena Walker. Helena and Rockwell became friends and worked with the other tribes to find all the artifacts for the Tek Cave, for different reasons. Mei Yin was known as the "Beast Queen" and teamed up with Helena to fight the Gorilla. Rockwell and the Roman General (I forgot his name) fought the Broodmother and Dragon. I forgot exactly what happens, but Rockwell and Helena end up together again and go into the Tek Cave with other tribes. They all fight the Overseer and all but Rockwell and Helena die. Rockwell is obsessed with this new thing, this "Element." Helena couldn't care less. Somethings happens that sends Helena and Rockwell to Scorched Earth. Rockwell's sanity slips in the desert, as he is being driven mad by the thought of Element. Helena finds Rockwell in the desert after a while and they join together. Rockwell again, sees the Obelisks and uses the tribes to help him gather the artifacts. Again, something I forget happens, which sends Rockwell and Helena to Aberration after they defeat the Manticore. A passage from Helena when they arrive goes something like this "Bloody hell, this place gives me the creeps. It's eerie, the lights [referring to Bioluminescent Swamp] are so beautiful, but I think eerie is the right word. I wish I was back on The Island, with the lush green lands. Rockwell's here with me, but he's changed. All he can talk about is his Element. I think his time in the desert really (messed with him)." What's known is Rockwell became completely obsessed with Element, and was intrigued with it's capabilities. It is theorized the pink fluids that are at the lowest point of the Aberration map is unrefined Element, as you can collect pink "Element Ore" from nodes. Rockwell began experimenting on some people who were present on Aberration, watching them mutate when he injected them with the liquid Element. It is hypothesized that they became The Nameless and some creatures became Reapers. Now, Mei Yin had somehow (so I've been told) got to Aberration BEFORE Helena and Rockwell, taming the creatures and living in the land. She had also killed the Roman General when Walker and Rockwell were on Scorched Earth. Don't ask me how she got there before they did, idk. Anyways, Rockwell lost it completely and injected himself with the Element Ore, becoming the thing we see. "Today, I leave this wretched place and this wretched existence. At last I will have my precious Element. I leave this mortal body.Today, I become a god!" Mei Yin and Helena find Rockwell and fight him. Mei Yin dies in Helena's arms. I honestly don't remember what happens next, but I do remember hearing and reading that Helena has a funeral for Rockwell. "Today, I buried my dearest friend and college, Rockwell. I remember him for the man he was, not who he'd become. All those nights we'd talk by the fire and share a cup of tea, we'd share our findings and discuss them. I remember when he loaned me his argentavis without so much a thought. Now, I say goodbye to my dearest friend, Edmund Rockwell."
Okay, guys. I'm so sorry. Mei Yin didn't die. She actually went all PTSD after Rockwell. When I wrote this, not all 30 Aberration notes had been released yet. ANYWAY, it was another character who had died that accompanied Helena from Scorched Earth. The last note says that (most of this will be off the top of my head, so excuse me if it's not word for word) "I finally found a way off of this Ark. Maybe out of this bloody system. I'm ready to leave this place. FOR GOOD. My mind is made up and ready to leave. But Mei Yin on the other hand..... She has been silent ever since our encounter with Rockwell. Maybe it's been too hard for her. She's been through so much. When I mentioned I was leaving, she grabbed my arm so tight and with tears in her eyes begged me not to. I don't care now...this ends. WE'RE going through the portal. We're leaving Ark forever." Some other side notes are that the Roman General's name is or was Nirva and for some really odd reason, Helena Walker is SPECIFICALLY from 2008. Idk why
He wasnt all good since the beginning, he was selfish and only cared about his investigations amd he got so obsessed with element he even named it Edmondium
If u read the dossiers Rockwell lived on the island for a while but if u look at certain ones he was Obsessed with element he wanted to experiment with element on humans he went crazy but idk how he became this way or got to abberation but this does explain the nameless since the nameless are infused humans with element
Basically you’ve beaten Abberration so you’ve become the ultimate survivor and returned to your earth because you were taken away as it fell apart and became dangerous and now that u r the ultimate survivor u have the skills to once again live on your earth and possibly save it.

Would make sense, they get harder and harder. With more alien-like lifeforms (probably the mutated descendants of the animals the survived whatever war or disasters that occured)
the people from differnent time periods.. thats due to the overseer being able to pluck DNA from any time period - there is not much more to it the concept is, humans of the past might be more worthy to rebuild earth than those of modern times (or even those of the time period when humans nearly died off)
So in the rockwell note i found on aberration, it says he wants to find a species potential, so maybe he infused himself with too much element causing him to turn into that creature in an atempt to unlock a humans potential? Lol 1 note explains alot
Syntac what happened to Rockwell was that he kept doing experiments on people with the element (which created the Nameless). So in return, they banished him to the depths of aberration where he mutated in that liquid. He connected himself to the ark while it was malfunctioning so he could control the ark, but when you (the player) comes, you kill him which makes the ark come back semi-online. Because he’s connected, the ark thinks he’s the overseer so when he’s defeated you get ascended. He then respawns for other players so he’s killed over and over again. what happened then is normally you’d go into the next ark, but former survivors built a portal that was linked to the ascendant teleport. The former survivors built the portal so they could get back to Earth, unknowing that Earth was destroyed by the overseers that built the arks.

I'm starting to wonder if the overseer, and the Ark technology, isn't alien but human technology far far in the future. What if we destroyed ourselves and the ark technology is all that's left, and it's trying to save what's left of Earth and other alien life-forms.
My totally unrefined, dumb, bad and probably bullshit theory: Rockwell used to be one of the scientists that created the ARK's. But since they needed a test subject, Rockwell went to the ARK's in order to prove they're places where people can survive. When they went to the Aberration ARK, it was still healthy. A completely fine ARK, with a lot of caves. And a portal, in order to travel between Earth and the ARK, so that Rockwell can communicate with the people on the Earth, or wherever they are. Then, Rockwell started to test the effects of element, and eventually turned the Bulbdogs into Rock Drakes with the help of it. The people on earth then started testing with it themselves When he saw the Rock Drake he tested it on himself, thinking it would make him a god. It didn't, now he was a big angry dude that went on a rampage, destroying everything in that ARK. And by that, I mean EVERYTHING. He destroyed the obelisks and the portal. By doing that, he obtained the portal's power, which would only be released on his death. So, by killing him, you reactivate the portal, which teleports you to the place that people used to know as Earth. But what happened to it? Well, when Rockwell was lost, they still tested with Element to know the limits, and by that, completely destroyed the earth, making it toxic, uninhabitable and incredibly hostile. But, there's still some creatures there. Mutants, made of Element, that are going on a rampage, killing everything smaller. And you are then on the earth and have to survive the extremely harsh conditions. Like, in Aberration, you had a safe zone. Where nothing would kill you. Where's that safe zone on earth? Everything's broken, the element-infused creatures could be everywhere. I think on that map, hunger and thirst are going to be your smallest problem. And that problem is already a gigantic one.
Syntac Rockwell did not make the dossiers. Helena made the dossiers. Rockwell made the recipes and if you read the lore for him on the island and scorched earth you will see that he joined the bad guys.

Posting even an edited 20 minute video can take up to an hour and you're left with like 13 mins if you clip it out right. Syntac seems like he's producing these 18-20 mins videos within a few hours of gameplay, for him to show us 4 videos a day would take his whole life away. lol
My theory is that their afe hive minds at the center of the ark's and the overseer keeps the hive mind in check but wen the ark broke the overseer perished and now the hive mind has mutated to something else so when rockwell died abberations ark is destroyed and you are moved to the planets surface when it is a wasteland

Yes, this is the proper way to do it. Injecting the Edmundium into that creature was too crude. If I first fuse the Edmundium with the subject's blood, and then inject the resulting concoction... Yes, that's it. I have it! The Edmundium knows it, too. It hums its approval as I work. It knows that soon, we shall be one. Soon, I too shall ascend." And:"The last preparations have been made. When I set down this pen and begin my final experiment, I shall finally achieve my ultimate goal. I shall at last look down upon the bumblings of mortal men from high above on an Edmundium throne. The birth of Sir Edmund Rockwell,Final boss of Aberration's story.
SPOILER ALERT ABBERATION EXTINCTION AND GENESIS SPOILERS So if anyone wants the explanation for abberation I'll tell you. When Rockwell and the other survivors got there it was destroyed as the last people there blew up where the guardian of abberation was and made it where it doesn't respawn making the ark screwed up. When they got there Rockwell started to experiment with element and consumed it and turned into that monster. He killed many people and the ark recognized him as the new guardian because of what he had become. Now he is trapped in a loop of death and rebirth. Until the end of extinction where the arks landed and Rockwell was freed and if you watch the last part of the ending he says "I'm coming for you Helena" Helena is another one of the survivors. In fact he is the one who is corrupting the genesis simulation and starts infecting HLNA or Helena the robot who is helping you that has a part of Helena in her. At the end of genesis you are brought out of the simulation in a ship but the corruption is starting to spread to the survivors taking them over and when you go get your text suit the ship gets attacked and one of Rockwell's tentacles grabs you and pulls you out of the ship.
The next dlc is extinction so wherever it is it’s based on something that went bye bye so earth is a good guess dinos went extinct maybe that plays into it

That ending cinematic gives me that feeling that who over is putting the specimen into these arks (starting at the island then aberration) just wants to kill us, like its pissed that we found the truth, so it sent us to aberration so we would find rockwell and hopefully die, but we didnt so it just said ‘fuck it, you wanna go home so bad, here ya go, have fun’. So it sent us to the planet (most likely earth) in hopes we die there, but ima guess we kill whoever is in control.

Well my mind was just blown! Let's talk about the obvious, the ending! It looks like Ark, & Aberration have come to Earth! & the whole point of going through Ark & Aberration, was to get the skills, abilities, & powers to easily conquer everything that has come to Earth! & now that new 'task' at hand, is to clear Earth of all the alien influence on Earth! It's like training people to become super-soldiers, to defeat an alien enemy that seeks to conquer Earth, & all life on Earth! Again, mind blown!
its not alien influence though. this takes lace far in the future with all this shit being built by the next stage of human evolution. if u check the terminals in the path leading to the overseer in the island, youll find out that homo sapiens (us) are extinct. but our evolved descendants are the ones there but due to a major tragedy are on the verge of extinction, so the arks ere built to ACCELERATE human evolution by using clones of dna from the past.

Desperate to fix the ARK, the aliens tried to create an ultimate lifeform to power it. nice theory but incorrect. if you check out the translations of the terminals in the tek cave final boss area thingy, what happeed was the arks were made by evolved humans, the next stage of human evolution. but on earth something went terribly wrong to the point of them ALMOST dying out, so the arks were built to accelerate human evolution in order to create more ascended humans, to preserve the species

Shari whalen yes. I'm pretty sure the last location is earth that they trashed, probly why they created little world's. I'm guessing around next year in june, there will be another arkmap, probly the earth one. May it come with new creatures, weapons and any others. This game has evolved over time. I've had it since it came out. They are adding more because more people play it, so hopefully thousands of people start playing so we can have more dlc's and maps and such. -EarthlyHuman
The beacons probly lost power because the lack of everything including life, power supporters, and even people. I bet they left that land for a reason. We will never know...

I think that Rockwell made a big disaster with his experiments and blew up everything destroying the map that now we play. Another theory is that he mutated, her got mad and kept hitting everything. "Someone" (who created the arks? ) was able to confine him in the arena until a survivor would come and kill him.
Theory: survivors from different arks all descend onto earth, being from their own home (scorched,island,rag,etc) and all uniting together in order to retain humanity on earth. Being the last phase in the construction of a project

What I think is that is earth but it destroyed but the guy Rockwell he made a form like a virtual reality and he was trying to hide a great being or the thing that lock him in that form and he trapped it in the waste land on earth and since you destroyed Rockwell the virtual reality broke and that thing is now free and want to rom or find Rockwell to get payback that why it screamed Because it was free and that was that creature planet but made that virtual reality thing so it can be trapped in that world and can’t get out
Little bit complicated but I understand but I think the screaming is another being or celestial bring that rules the “earth” so that the obs were trying to hide i from you but sense that on broke down that place is now conquered because this being can take down obelisks so maybe in the next dlc there is a certain time period were you can fight bosses

It's called a 'request' manny... As in you ask someone something and they can choose to go along with it or not. That is one method people use to talk to each other when they have varying opinions or perhaps simply have a different view point.
I didn't watch it but if you read what I wrote, "But please 'rename' the video to remove spoilers." You'd know it's not from watching the video but the title of the video which is basically unavoidable.
for short explanation: the people he worked with trapped him down here after corruption spread and then they ascended leaving him here for you to kill and reach the next ark to finally kill the king kaiju and come back down to the earth, ending most of corruption. but still it seems rockwells soul is being brought back, maybe for us to kill again. but no, the overseer never trapped him as the overseer probably doesn't even know his presence. so Helena (one of his friends) ascended and soon became one with an artifact which made her vanish from Mei's sight. Leading her to never be seen again, probably dead in the wastes of what once was a great city over-run by the corruption element killing them out.
Basically Rockwell did this to himself and this ark was already the way it was before he was there, he became obsessed w element and especially the liquid element on this map the reason this ark is like this is that the obelisks malfunctioned and let radiation in on it. The reason he is like this is because he injected himself with the raw element and reacted like this but the reason he is torn up the way he is is because the other survivors who made it this far had to fight him and thought they killed him but he really survived and continued to rule this ark but not control it
Rockwell is the boss but he is also the writer of the recipes and some explorer notes so maybe he got iradeated and transformed into that and the face of the boss kind of resembles that of your standard. Character
Maybe he went through every thing including ascensions and he killed the alpha bosses and his wrist gem thing turned him into it because after the ascensions your wrist gem things changes, or, a new world were he was exploring but a unknown creature turned him into this and sent him back here and the word is a combo of every map in ark and has every dino + more

What we saw in the end, I think was earth in future where there is some world war. And we (players) are the soliders and ark maps are just testing and training grounds. All these training ground are in far away solar system or galaxy, where enemy cant see what we are doing.
Also the warp was like a stargate in Atlantis. It took the objekt down to atoms, moved its atoms to anodher place, where objekt was built the same way it was before. What do you guys think?
For the people who Dont know ark has a very nice story with the explore notes.... Rockwell was a survivor of the ark he was more the guy who did the poisons this is why it always calls Rockwell recipes..... But then he got a bad man and stuff like that
Probably one of the first arks ever made that you get teleported too. The energy during transfer powered up for a short time, powers down again and deactivated the hologram
There's a site that translates all dossiers. Rockwell did this to himself after he went mad. Reason why he's stuck is because two of the original characters from the island pushed him down a whole whilst battling him on aberration.

He was ecstatic, and unable to hold back on the urge to "ascend" and go god mode, so he decided to unstrap his arm so the Element goes through the rest of his body, and that is exactly how he became the monster he is now.

He isn’t actually attached to the ark. The story was revealed in the explorer notes.
He tried transfusing liquid element into his blood to make him more powerful, which transformed him into a monster. He then destroyed the whole city (that’s were the ruins came from). He was eventually defeated by Helena (who wrote the dossiers) and mei-yin (another note-writing survivor). They knocked him through a hole and he ended up in that place. Helena, Mei-yin, and some other survivors then used a tek gateway to travel to earth (where the 3rd expansion, extinction, is set).

Yup. In the description of the season pass on steam, it says you get 3 expansions. Then it gives the description of scorched earth, aberration, and then it says “and a third expansion, extinction, that releases in spring 2018!”

The story of Rockwell is this... He was trapped by Overseer. Rockwell did never escape.

He becomes power mad near the end of aberration. He only becomes that way because he injects himself with molten element and kills a bunch of people in the village. The overseer then takes back control of the ark and traps Rockwell in that chamber. To make him pay for trying to become a god, the overseer keeps him in a purgatory. Forced to attack and die to any survivor who fights him.
Sir Edmund Rockwell was a 19th Century British alchemist/botanist who awoke on The Island Ark. He lived there with the other tribes, creating recipes and being very interested in the flora of the Ark.
Rockwell was joined by a Roman General, a Mei Yin, and a modern day Australian zoologist, Helena Walker. Helena and Rockwell became friends and worked with the other tribes to find all the artifacts for the Tek Cave, for different reasons.
Mei Yin was known as the "Beast Queen" and teamed up with Helena to fight the Gorilla. Rockwell and the Roman General (I forgot his name) fought the Broodmother and Dragon. I forgot exactly what happens, but Rockwell and Helena end up together again and go into the Tek Cave with other tribes. They all fight the Overseer and all but Rockwell and Helena die. Rockwell is obsessed with this new thing, this "Element." Helena couldn't care less.
Somethings happens that sends Helena and Rockwell to Scorched Earth. Rockwell's sanity slips in the desert, as he is being driven mad by the thought of Element. Helena finds Rockwell in the desert after a while and they join together. Rockwell again, sees the Obelisks and uses the tribes to help him gather the artifacts. Again, something I forget happens, which sends Rockwell and Helena to Aberration after they defeat the Manticore.
A passage from Helena when they arrive goes something like this
"Bloody hell, this place gives me the creeps. It's eerie, the lights [referring to Bioluminescent Swamp] are so beautiful, but I think eerie is the right word. I wish I was back on The Island, with the lush green lands. Rockwell's here with me, but he's changed. All he can talk about is his Element. I think his time in the desert really (messed with him)."
What's known is Rockwell became completely obsessed with Element, and was intrigued with it's capabilities. It is theorized the pink fluids that are at the lowest point of the Aberration map is unrefined Element, as you can collect pink "Element Ore" from nodes. Rockwell began experimenting on some people who were present on Aberration, watching them mutate when he injected them with the liquid Element. It is hypothesized that they became The Nameless and some creatures became Reapers.
Now, Mei Yin had somehow (so I've been told) got to Aberration BEFORE Helena and Rockwell, taming the creatures and living in the land. She had also killed the Roman General when Walker and Rockwell were on Scorched Earth. Don't ask me how she got there before they did, idk. Anyways, Rockwell lost it completely and injected himself with the Element Ore, becoming the thing we see.
"Today, I leave this wretched place and this wretched existence. At last I will have my precious Element. I leave this mortal body.Today, I become a god!"
Mei Yin and Helena find Rockwell and fight him. Mei Yin dies in Helena's arms. I honestly don't remember what happens next, but I do remember hearing and reading that Helena has a funeral for Rockwell.
"Today, I buried my dearest friend and college, Rockwell. I remember him for the man he was, not who he'd become. All those nights we'd talk by the fire and share a cup of tea, we'd share our findings and discuss them. I remember when he loaned me his argentavis without so much a thought. Now, I say goodbye to my dearest friend, Edmund Rockwell."

Okay, guys. I'm so sorry. Mei Yin didn't die. She actually went all PTSD after Rockwell. When I wrote this, not all 30 Aberration notes had been released yet. ANYWAY, it was another character who had died that accompanied Helena from Scorched Earth.
The last note says that (most of this will be off the top of my head, so excuse me if it's not word for word)
"I finally found a way off of this Ark. Maybe out of this bloody system. I'm ready to leave this place. FOR GOOD. My mind is made up and ready to leave. But Mei Yin on the other hand.....
She has been silent ever since our encounter with Rockwell. Maybe it's been too hard for her. She's been through so much. When I mentioned I was leaving, she grabbed my arm so tight and with tears in her eyes begged me not to. I don't care now...this ends. WE'RE going through the portal. We're leaving Ark forever."
Some other side notes are that the Roman General's name is or was Nirva and for some really odd reason, Helena Walker is SPECIFICALLY from 2008. Idk why

Syntac what happened to Rockwell was that he kept doing experiments on people with the element (which created the Nameless). So in return, they banished him to the depths of aberration where he mutated in that liquid. He connected himself to the ark while it was malfunctioning so he could control the ark, but when you (the player) comes, you kill him which makes the ark come back semi-online. Because he’s connected, the ark thinks he’s the overseer so when he’s defeated you get ascended. He then respawns for other players so he’s killed over and over again. what happened then is normally you’d go into the next ark, but former survivors built a portal that was linked to the ascendant teleport. The former survivors built the portal so they could get back to Earth, unknowing that Earth was destroyed by the overseers that built the arks.

My totally unrefined, dumb, bad and probably bullshit theory:
Rockwell used to be one of the scientists that created the ARK's. But since they needed a test subject, Rockwell went to the ARK's in order to prove they're places where people can survive. When they went to the Aberration ARK, it was still healthy. A completely fine ARK, with a lot of caves. And a portal, in order to travel between Earth and the ARK, so that Rockwell can communicate with the people on the Earth, or wherever they are. Then, Rockwell started to test the effects of element, and eventually turned the Bulbdogs into Rock Drakes with the help of it. The people on earth then started testing with it themselves When he saw the Rock Drake he tested it on himself, thinking it would make him a god. It didn't, now he was a big angry dude that went on a rampage, destroying everything in that ARK. And by that, I mean EVERYTHING. He destroyed the obelisks and the portal. By doing that, he obtained the portal's power, which would only be released on his death. So, by killing him, you reactivate the portal, which teleports you to the place that people used to know as Earth. But what happened to it? Well, when Rockwell was lost, they still tested with Element to know the limits, and by that, completely destroyed the earth, making it toxic, uninhabitable and incredibly hostile. But, there's still some creatures there. Mutants, made of Element, that are going on a rampage, killing everything smaller.
And you are then on the earth and have to survive the extremely harsh conditions.
Like, in Aberration, you had a safe zone. Where nothing would kill you. Where's that safe zone on earth? Everything's broken, the element-infused creatures could be everywhere. I think on that map, hunger and thirst are going to be your smallest problem. And that problem is already a gigantic one.

Syntac Rockwell did not make the dossiers. Helena made the dossiers. Rockwell made the recipes and if you read the lore for him on the island and scorched earth you will see that he joined the bad guys.

ABBERATION EXTINCTION AND GENESIS

So if anyone wants the explanation for abberation I'll tell you. When Rockwell and the other survivors got there it was destroyed as the last people there blew up where the guardian of abberation was and made it where it doesn't respawn making the ark screwed up. When they got there Rockwell started to experiment with element and consumed it and turned into that monster. He killed many people and the ark recognized him as the new guardian because of what he had become. Now he is trapped in a loop of death and rebirth. Until the end of extinction where the arks landed and Rockwell was freed and if you watch the last part of the ending he says "I'm coming for you Helena" Helena is another one of the survivors. In fact he is the one who is corrupting the genesis simulation and starts infecting HLNA or Helena the robot who is helping you that has a part of Helena in her. At the end of genesis you are brought out of the simulation in a ship but the corruption is starting to spread to the survivors taking them over and when you go get your text suit the ship gets attacked and one of Rockwell's tentacles grabs you and pulls you out of the ship.

That ending cinematic gives me that feeling that who over is putting the specimen into these arks (starting at the island then aberration) just wants to kill us, like its pissed that we found the truth, so it sent us to aberration so we would find rockwell and hopefully die, but we didnt so it just said ‘fuck it, you wanna go home so bad, here ya go, have fun’. So it sent us to the planet (most likely earth) in hopes we die there, but ima guess we kill whoever is in control.

It looks like Ark, & Aberration have come to Earth! & the whole point of going through Ark & Aberration, was to get the skills, abilities, & powers to easily conquer everything that has come to Earth! & now that new 'task' at hand, is to clear Earth of all the alien influence on Earth! It's like training people to become super-soldiers, to defeat an alien enemy that seeks to conquer Earth, & all life on Earth! Again, mind blown!
its not alien influence though. this takes lace far in the future with all this shit being built by the next stage of human evolution. if u check the terminals in the path leading to the overseer in the island, youll find out that homo sapiens (us) are extinct. but our evolved descendants are the ones there but due to a major tragedy are on the verge of extinction, so the arks ere built to ACCELERATE human evolution by using clones of dna from the past.

Maybe Rockwell was the leader of a human resistance from Earth, and in a battle destroying the ARK, he was captured. Desperate to fix the ARK, the aliens tried to create an ultimate lifeform to power it. Rockwell broke free, and mutated out of control, killing the island's Overseer scorching the surface, mutating all life, and even mutating the island itself... Do you think Rockwell can still cook?

nice theory but incorrect. if you check out the translations of the terminals in the tek cave final boss area thingy, what happeed was the arks were made by evolved humans, the next stage of human evolution. but on earth something went terribly wrong to the point of them ALMOST dying out, so the arks were built to accelerate human evolution in order to create more ascended humans, to preserve the species

I'm guessing around next year in june, there will be another arkmap, probly the earth one. May it come with new creatures, weapons and any others. This game has evolved over time. I think that Rockwell made a big disaster with his experiments and blew up everything destroying the map that now we play. Another theory is that he mutated, her got mad and kept hitting everything. "Someone" (who created the arks? ) was able to confine him in the arena until a survivor would come and kill him.

What I think is that is earth but it destroyed but the guy Rockwell he made a form like a virtual reality and he was trying to hide a great being or the thing that lock him in that form and he trapped it in the waste land on earth and since you destroyed Rockwell the virtual reality broke and that thing is now free and want to rom or find Rockwell to get payback that why it screamed Because it was free and that was that creature planet but made that virtual reality thing so it can be trapped in that world and can’t get out
And then finds out that you destroyed Rockwell and want to kill you since your the boss that thing want to kill you to be the boss again

It's ark, but broken.
for short explanation: the people he worked with trapped him down here after corruption spread and then they ascended leaving him here for you to kill and reach the next ark to finally kill the king kaiju and come back down to the earth, ending most of corruption. but still it seems rockwells soul is being brought back, maybe for us to kill again. but no, the overseer never trapped him as the overseer probably doesn't even know his presence. so Helena (one of his friends) ascended and soon became one with an artifact which made her vanish from Mei's sight. Leading her to never be seen again, probably dead in the wastes of what once was a great city over-run by the corruption element killing them out.

Basically Rockwell did this to himself and this ark was already the way it was before he was there, he became obsessed w element and especially the liquid element on this map the reason this ark is like this is that the obelisks malfunctioned and let radiation in on it. The reason he is like this is because he injected himself with the raw element and reacted like this but the reason he is torn up the way he is is because the other survivors who made it this far had to fight him and thought they killed him but he really survived and continued to rule this ark but not control it
Rockwell is the boss but he is also the writer of the recipes and some explorer notes so maybe he got iradeated and transformed into that and the face of the boss kind of resembles that of your standard. Character

Maybe he went through every thing including ascensions and he killed the alpha bosses and his wrist gem thing turned him into it because after the ascensions your wrist gem things changes, or, a new world were he was exploring but a unknown creature turned him into this and sent him back here and the word is a combo of every map in ark and has every dino + more

What is the command that you use to make the reaper better?
What we saw in the end, I think was earth in future where there is some world war. And we (players) are the soliders and ark maps are just testing and training grounds. All these training ground are in far away solar system or galaxy, where enemy cant see what we are doing.
Also the warp was like a stargate in Atlantis. It took the objekt down to atoms, moved its atoms to anodher place, where objekt was built the same way it was before.

For the people who Dont know ark has a very nice story with the explore notes.... Rockwell was a survivor of the ark he was more the guy who did the poisons this is why it always calls Rockwell recipes..... But then he got a bad man and stuff like that

Probably one of the first arks ever made that you get teleported too. The energy during transfer powered up for a short time, powers down again and deactivated the hologram

There's a site that translates all dossiers. Rockwell did this to himself after he went mad. Reason why he's stuck is because two of the original characters from the island pushed him down a whole whilst battling him on aberration.
