Wow that’s a long time lol. I wish i can go that long without a retwist. I retwist my hair about every 4 weeks now lol. I will go further into details in my loc update video.
Girl I've been natural for 5 years my hair is past my bra strap im over the fro im starting my loc journey Sunday my 13 year old son has beautiful locs I've been scared of the commitment but I love them im going for it 🥰
I was 5 1/2 years natural before starting my loc journey. I understand the scarcity of the commitment of having locs. I honestly should’ve started my journey years ago before my 2nd big chop. Congratulations on starting your loc journey.✨ You’re gonna love it. What type of locs are you going for(traditional, sister locs, microlocs)?
Congratulations! Your locs are beautiful!! I just celebrated my one month milestone. This video gives a great visual journey of what to look forward to.
OMG this makes me so hopeful, mine are turning 1 month old in the next 4 days, some of my locs have unrevelled and I was worried that they might end up separating but this makes me so hopeful.
@@LetriceAllia I’ve been so confused on what to do I thought they’d end up separating as well, so anytime I see a twist unraveling, I twist it back 😪🥴am I supposed to do that or leave it be 😩 I’d really appreciate your response 💝 I’ve only been like 2weeks in by the way🥴
Your locs are beautiful!!! Even the early faze was fantastic. Mine are wonderful at the 5month. But sis that first through the 3rd..it was so not what I was willing to wear out..
Thank you! I understand about the first 3 months. I wore a lot of scarves/hats during that stage. As soon as I embraced my journey my locs started to flourish ✨
Beautiful locs,I'm going into my 6months loc journey, wishing my edges will grow faster, braids, weaves, and lace ate my edges up,but they trying to grow a Lil since I started my loc journey, this video is very motivation, 😊 have any tips on the edges fill free to let me in on it😁Thanks
The best tip I can give you is leaving your edges alone. Keep them hydrated with water or rose water apply any oil that works best for you. I’ve been using this method as well to make sure my edges stay healthy. Good luck. I would love to hear an update. ☺️✨
They look beautiful thanks for sharing 😍 I have a question, I noticed a good majority of them unraveled from the two strand twist and kinda just morphed into (for lack of better word, tangles) how were u able to go back in and maintain the parts u had originally and did u just leave the twist that came unraveled as is?
Thank you for watching. To answer your questions. I maintain my parts by retwisting my locs once a month sometimes twice a month in the very beginning. As far as the unraveled locs I did the two strand twist over. Eventually those unraveled locs gotten super tangled and never unraveled again. That was probably around month 3 or 4. I hope this answer your questions.
@@LetriceAllia it did thank u ☺️ I just started mine with the 2 strand method and was going back and forth between interlocking or twisting and pros and cons of each. Your answers helped me with what could (or not) be expected. Blessings 🥰
Yes and no. Here’s why I’m saying both. In the beginning of my journey I was washing and retwisting my hair every two weeks. Now that my hair is longer and more mature when I wash my locs sometimes I don’t need to always do a retwist afterwards.
Yes. When your locs unraveled you most definitely need to have them retwisted. If you’re doing your hair yourself it’s best to retwist as soon as you see then unravel. If you’re going to a locitian let them know your locs are unraveling. I hope that answer your question.
After they unraveled after your first wash did you just leave them alone ? I started mine a week ago I used a spray bottle so they wouldn’t be so stiff… it worked but they’re kind of coming out below my roots like in the middle and idk what to do 😕
When my locs unraveled I just retwisted it. Did your loc unraveled completely? If not leave it alone. That’s completely normal to have some locs unravel in the middle almost creating a loophole. If you’re afraid your hair won’t loc’d I suggest just retwisting it.
I believe you can wash your hair at any moment. I know it’s not recommended to wash your starter locs early. When my locs unraveled I just retwist them and didn’t have any issues with unraveling. Eventually your locs will loc if you are concern unraveling locs

@@LetriceAllia i love how you trusted the process❤ i have the same hair type as yours and i get easily discouraged that they won't loc.
Yes i love it! I’ll be 6 months tomorrow and I’m going to get my retwist... can’t wait! It’s been 6 weeks no retwist 🙃

Nice progress thus far

I love locs I cut mine off September due to severe damage and restarted last week
Absolutely beautiful! What product did you use to retwist?
Thank you love! ✨ I use aloe Vera gel for my retwist. I made a video doing my retwist.
