Now Major Tim Peake, speaking to WIRED Next Generation from the Yuri Gagarin training centre in Star City, Russia via Skype, is preparing to be the first to launch as part of an official government-funded mission.
Now in its second year, WIRED 2014: Next Generation is dedicated to inspiring young minds by showcasing innovators, designers, coders, inventors, artists and performers. The event also aims to raise awareness of the need for stronger science, technology, engineering, arts and maths education in the UK today.
