I just watched your 'First Day of Japanese Language School' video which is pretty cool since I'm sure many of us have wondered what it's like to go to Japan to study! I'm just curious about what's the reason, and the long-term plan? Are most of your classmates studying to work in Japan, or just for fun?
Thank you for watching. Great questions! My reason and long-term goal is to live and work in Japan, well, long-term. Most of my classmates are studying for travel/experience/hobby/fun/ or are currently/planning to work for a Japanese company back home. For the rest of us, we want to call Japan our home, to work, live, and have a life here.
I've just stumbled upon your channel and I also live in the GTA. Just curious, since you are going there with a student visa does this mean you are currently not working while commuting to language school in Japan? @@makaizaku
@@Neosakai Thank you for stumbling! :) Good question. Currently, I am not working. Although, under a student visa one is allowed to work part-time (up to 28 hours in a week). アルバイト = part-time job. Most students opt to teach English, or at work a コンビニ (convenience store), 喫茶店 (coffee shop), or 居酒屋 (izakaya). You just need to report the place and hours to the school and they in turn share with immigration.
just came across your channel and about to binge watch as I've just sent off my application for the same school you attended in Fukuoka. We're oddly similar, including a best friend I havent talked to in a few years lol. I'm just out in vancity rather than TO. Why did you ship your bike, is it hard to find a frame that fits you in JP or something?
I'm quite tall, and my bike is an XL frame, and not so cheap. I knew Japan wouldn't have my size as immediate as I wanted it, and didn't have the time to sell or research getting a new one. This bike has been around the world with me since 2013 (Vancouver, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Toronto, and back to Japan again!) Hope you can connect with your friend again?
Do you have a degree? I understand that you're going to Japan under the Student Visa, are you upgrading/switching it to a Work Visa afterwards? Is this a permanent move?

Very punny! It was a giant week, and I'm glad to get this video out. Thank you for watching!

I do have a degree. I plan to change to a work visa with my current workplace when my school program completes. It is meant to be a permanent move.
@@makaizaku Oh my! Where do you work! That is exciting!!! I found myself back at this video because my Visa process just started!!
@@diablo3schizle I work for a hotel currently. I'll have a video coming out about this update.
Hi Dan. Your teeth are looking great! Can I ask have you ever had braces before?
Thank you. I haven't.
