I think Brooke would’ve been a better lead in this dance. The song is more mature and suits Brooke’s maturity when she dances
Love the song. Like the dance. Maddie looks great. BUT she rushes and it's apparent in this number, specifically at 0:29. Her kick was way faster than everyone else's and if she did that more than what we saw on tv, that might be why they didn't win.

I remember watching this number and this complaint was what I had with the whole number, because I loved Maddie but Abby made it so blatant it was almost sickening, unfortunately.

*Rant Incoming:*
It’s getting harder and harder for me to watch these group dances these days because the older I get the more I see how it’s really the same thing over and over. A lot of Abby’s group dances tried to have Maddie do everything while the others did the same moves in the back. Because in her mind, only Maddie gets to shine while the others dance backup. This isn’t any hate to Maddie tho because it’s Abby’s fault for making them all do these dances. Abby always makes sure that Maddie is always doing something different while the other girls dance behind her all doing the same thing. Abby needs to realize that Maddie isn’t the only dancer and these types of “group” dances (that they did often) are so boring to watch because nobody else really gets to do anything. Like the other girls are good at things, let them do certain parts that Maddie always does so Maddie doesn’t have to do every special part in a group dance. Please give her a break lol.
*For example:* Maddie is always the one doing big turn sequences while everyone else circles around her or she does a big turn sequence to end the dance. We see this happen in so many of their dances bc Abby likes to repeat moves and it’s like? She fell out of them here, Not saying she’s not a good turner or anything bc she nails them sometimes but why not let just Chloe do that part? She would have shined bc she’s known for being the best turner and is more consistent with nailing her turns. You always put your best bet first from a logical standpoint. Maddie can do all the other special things that she consistently nails in dances, like some of the things she did in this dance and that could be her role; but Abby didn’t have to always make Maddie do the big turn sequence thing all the time, that role could have been given to Chloe so that Maddie doesn’t have to do it all. Give those parts to Chloe, the dancer who is known as the best turner and held a record for most turns at the studio. That way she can have her chance to shine in dances and do her share of work.
Why not let Paige do the some of her amazing tricks and even use some of her amazing energy and emotions for things? That could have been her role? Why not utilize Brooke’s amazing abilities more? That could have been her role. She was amazing in this dance and yet she’s just dancing back up here. Why not give everyone something to do so they’re not all doing the same thing with only one person in the front being different.
I could keep going with the girls but ya’ll get the idea. They all had something that they were particularly good at… something that they were a little bit better than others at whether it was a certain trick, facial emotion, dance move, a combo, a dance genre, whatever. So if you’re gonna repeat the same group dance style (Maddie with backup dancers) why not repeat the same group dance style but in a better way? Give everyone a specific role to do and have it be something they’re good at too so the dance looks good on stage and you utilize ALL your dancers in the GROUP dance? That way nobody gets left out and one person doesn’t have to do everything. Abby can’t complain about the other girls being lazy and only having Maddie carry the group dances when she never gave the other girls anything to do to have their fair share of work and when she did give them a little piece of something special in group dances they always loved it and shined. Nia is the perfect example of this.
Abby’s dances tried to have Maddie do everything while the others did the same moves in the back and even tho they were good dances and they won, it got boring and repetitive and it’s also really heartbreaking and annoying for the other girls. Heartbreaking because imagine how that made them feel? And it’s annoying because when you’re a dancer you don’t always want to dance in someone’s shadow. You don’t always want to be backup. Sometimes you wanna shine and you should be able to in a group dance. Either everyone gets a special part or no one gets a special part unless it’s a group dance that specifically requires a featured dancer like the Rosa Parks dance or something like that. But not every single dance should have only one featured dancer and if they do then give everyone a chance to be a featured dancer, switch it up often, not once every blue moon. Group dances with a featured dancer should be a sometime thing, not an every time thing. If you’re gonna do group dances with a featured dancer more often then switch up that featured dancer so we’re not looking at the same thing all the time.
That’s why I like dances like Just Be because that was one of the dances that truly felt like a group dance. A real group dance that you would usually see in the real dance world (And Abby wasn’t there to choreograph that dance. Gia was, no surprise there lol) No one had any special costumes, but everybody did something different and special and it was split perfectly. Everybody got to do something different and they still looked like a group.
I did notice some other dances where everyone actually did get special parts and it shows us that Abby CAN make group dances where everyone gets a special part and it looks good, but she chooses not to because she only wants Maddie to look good and do every single thing, and that’s just another reason I hate Abby. She had the option to do good. We’ve seen her do good, yet she chooses evil. She could have been a great dance teacher to all of them, but she always chose the wrong path.
By this point in time maddie could do longer turn sequences like chloe could do 32 foutees but maddie could do more types of turns in one sequence and you are aware that chloe always gets special parts even when she's not the lead in group dances,paige wasn't given tricks because her legs were always bent,Brooke usually did have an acro section as well maddie was the perfect lead for them and in season 3 maddie was the better turner

Why is it the Maddie show all the time. I would like to see what the other dancers are doing too. ENOUGH ALREADY! No hate but please it is not the Maddie Show.
The dance was ok but it seems to me Abby never showcases any of the other girls it’s only Maddie.That makes me sad to know all the other girls have no shot.Abby should’ve givin all the girls special parts in the numbers not only one person should get lots of attention (disclaimer I’m not hating on Maddie she is a good dancer but so are all the other girls)

I kind of like this dance it's one of my favourites but I think that Abby should have given other girls a chance to be in the front and I didn't watch this episode so I am not sure that Maddie was the lead or not 😆
Definitely one of my least favorite groups. I don’t like the song, the fact Maddie is in the front the entire number, unfortunately she fell out of both turn sequences we saw, and the other girls were just not featured for a number that may have been quite good. There was so much untapped potential, I’m sorry to say.

Char Williams other girls have gotten turns but i sorta agree, maddie gets too much of a lead. shes a good actor though
Maddie was the best-turner at this time. Nia, Brooke, and Paige could barely do turns. Kendall loses her face during turns and chloe's arms are bad doing turns. Maddie was the one who had the face and could do the turns almost perfectly.

I can't be the only one who got bored of so many group dances because Maddie was the lead and into hating on Maddie because dance moms has been over for a long time but when I look back I just notice how any times this happened and it's just annoying like brooke was incredibly in this dance and should've been lead and I love Maddie and I see what Abby sees but Maddie is not the greatest gift to the dance world and I'm positive any judge who watched and judged the ALDC routines got bored after awhile from seeing the same lead do the same moves and same face
i know i’ll get a lot of hate for this but i really dislike maddie’s facial expressions, and she does the same ones every time. and tbh the ‘maddie face’ really isn’t all that, and instead of looking sad or upset in a dance she just looks constipated :/
