Ever wonder who holds the thrown as the strongest Pokemon trainer of all time? Well, in this video I go over 10 of the strongest trainers from all across the Pokemon games. Ranging from Gym Leaders to Trial Captains, I go over many categories to show who holds the thrown for each; and more importantly, who holds the thrown as the strongest trainer of all time! Also shout out to my boy TheAuraGuardian for helping me come up with the funny intro! Blue actually is not the only rival to become a gym leader. Your rival from Black and White (Cheren?) becomes Gym leader in BW2. Also, if you count N as a rival, then he became a champion like Blue. Just thought I should share this fact out.

N is pretty much the real rival in BW. He competes with you the entire game to see who's ideals/truths are stronger. Cheren is trying to find his self out and become stronger to beat Alder, which is his real goal, and Bianca just wants to learn what she wants to do in life (Pokemon Professor eventually).
But when you think about it blue has become both a champion AND a gym leader, and even a professor. So I would put blue as #1 still (but N is definitely #2).

11:37 I think Red's Pokemon around Sun and Moon ARE near level 100, but are nerfed because of the challenges the Gen 7 protagonist's Pokemon overcame, they are able to take on Red's Pokemon as if they were in their 60's or 70's. Think about it, in Black 2 and White 2 you cannot battle Red outside the Pokemon World Tournament because Red's Pokemon are so tough, they need the tournament's rules to nerf their level and stats! As for the Island Trial Challenges, they are no walk in the park, especially battling that Totem Ribombee from UltraSun and UltraMoon! Makes you understand why Team Skull hated everything related to the Island Trial Challenge.

Beating Red was the true mark of completing Gold or Silver to me. I love that fight, it's relentless, he could take on and kill a lvl 100 if you played your cards wrong, and was extremely satisfying to beat.

To be honest, i don't think he's that well-known amongt the latter generations. But when you enter the pokemon franchise "For real" for the first time... you'll see red everywhere as he's extremely overrated(He deservers it though). One of the best intro’s to a RUclips video I have ever watched
The only time I had a hard time against a rival was in my second playthrough with Black, the final battle against Cheren destroyed me because of the Serperior was just to fast and kept on using bind and synthensis. Other than that I never had a big problem with them.

Even more when the newest Kanto only game is gen 3 (Let's go didn't come out yet, and there will probably be only gen 1 pokemon anyway), and Arceus is gen 4 (and event-exclusive anyway).
I personally would've kinda liked it if we saw how tobis started his journey and how he got his darkri and his latios and what other pokemon he has and also i would've liked to see the same thing for Paul because there was more to paul back story that we never saw but it was talked about amd i would've liked to see it

I strongly disagree with Giovanni being the strongest antagonist (I'm excluding Greevin since I'm only including mainstream characters). I am indeed a fan of Giovanni as an antagonist due to the mafia vibes he gives off, but I don't think he's the strongest antagonist (in fact, I would argue that he's one of the weakest).
First of all, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure Team Rocket only created and used Mewtwo in the anime, in the mainstream games Giovanni had nothing to do with him as Mewtwo was created by Mr. Fuji on Cinnabar Island. I don't remember too well whether or not he was forced to by Team Rocket but it doesn't change the fact that Giovanni never uses Mewtwo in the games to make him a massive threat (except for USUM).
Secondly, Giovanni would have high social status being the Viridian City gym leader and both the leader of Team Rocket, but as a trainer his team is very lackluster compared to who I consider to be the strongest antagonist (a team consisting of primarily ground type pokemon).
Finally: who is the strongest pokemon antagonist in my opinion? Sorry giovanni, you may be "The Boss", but the title of "strongest antagonist" goes to "LORD" Ghetsis (yes I know that's not his official trainer class, but that's how he's addressed by his underlings).
Ghetsis being the true head of Team Plasma manipulated his own son N i order to gain possession of eithet Reshiram or Zekrom. Keep in mind, N beat the Unovan Champion Alder, thus making N the Champion. However, N is another one of
Ghetsis's pawns and just a stand in leader for Team Plasma. Thus if N was under Ghetsis's command, that means Zekrom or Reshiram were as well. Team Plasma was the only team in existence to acquire a legendary pokemon . . . TWICE!
Considering that N was the champion of Unova for a short period of time and under Ghetsis's control, what does that make Ghetsis. He's at an even HIGHER social status than the unovan champion. Compare that to being a gym leader. Sorry but a gym leader is nothing compared to the Champion.
In Black and White 2, Ghetsis acquires Kyurem with the help of Colress, only this tims Kyurem was directly under Ghetsis's command. He even uses Kyurem to attempt to slaughter you in cold blood until you are saved by N, who battles Ghetsis's Kyurem using either Zekrom or Reshiram and loses. I think that's enough said.
Now talking about actually battling against Ghetsis, the battle with him is already considered to be one of the most difficult in mainstream pokemon, rivaling Lance and Cynthia. His hydreigon knows at least one move that's super effective against all of both N and Alder's team, almost like it was trained for the specific purpose of defeating the champion of unova.
Knowing all of that, I personally believe Ghetsis is easily without a doubt Pokemon's Strongest Antagonist, but feel free to disagree if you believd you have better points on whether someone else is stronger, and I'm open to hear them.

So I came back here after seeing Cynthia's team in the "Final Rematch" of the Pokémon League in BDSP and I can confidently say we have a new strongest NPC and perhaps even the strongest trainer of all time.
I will argue that Lysandre is the strongest Antagonist. He's the first antagonist to achieve Mega Evolution with a Mega Gyarados and has held a Legendary in captivity (Xerneas or Yyveltal). Mega Evolution can only be achieved by sharing a strong bond with one's Pokémo, something most antagonists can't achieve.
He also attempted to activate the legendary weapon used in the ancient war. With firepower like that on his side, very few could stand against him. Unlike Giovanni, he came very close to achieving his goals and did not make the mistake of antagonizing Mewtwo. Furthermore, he's gained immense popularity and fame due to inventing the Holocast system, giving him great publicity and financial success.
To top it off, he used to be a pupil to Professor Sycamore, an acclaimed Pokémon professor. This means Lysandre is well versed in the fields of science, portraying him as a very cultured and intelligent individual.

Um… Red's Pokemon were Crippled by Deoxys in the FRLG arc, even with his Aero's wings getting ripped to shreds. And the Pokemon Center was blown up, and then Red got Petrified for a while, then got turned back to normal where he was thrown into another Legendary battle along with the other dex holders against Kyogre plus. Then they had the tourney, Red was probably not taking it too seriously since he had been through all that and holding yellow for months. Also… Emerald was Meh in the ORAS arc… so I don't think calling him the strongest counts at all, even if he did get a Hoopa, considering Ruby got Diancie. I'm Pretty sure Ruby is stronger than Emerald based on what happened in the ORAS arc. I think the strongest in the Manga is probably Blaine, Red, or Black the rock. Red and Black were the only Dex holders to become champions, and Black has Reshiram, while Red has Mega evolution. And Blaine has Mega Mewtwo. So I would say the 3 are the best trainers in the Manga verse of Pokemon, although technically Oak said that Red is the Strongest because he is the Fighter. All dex holders have a title, Red is the Fighter, Black is the Dreamer, etc. Honestly though, I think any of those 3 are the strongest, with even Ruby seeming to be better than Emerald in the ORAS arc, or at least even. The Emerald arc itself was old, for future the ORAS arc would be a better comparison.
i don't think its fitting to judge blacks strength based on him possessing reshiram as i believe he wouldn't use it for his actual team. he only used it to have it fight its counterpart. don't get me wrong black is still a strong trainer enough to win unova's pokemon league but his strength is not based on the legendary he worked with it is based on the pokemon he would consider as his own.
same can be said for other characters like emerald ruby Y dia etc. they possess legendarys but they work alongside them as representatives for said legendaries. none of these trainers really own these legendaries as they act usually on their own accord. this doesn't mean that they are weak but its a misrepresentation of their power and potential.
blaine also fights alongside mewtwo not because of his strength but because blaine is a trainer mewtwo can trust due to their biological link. it is because of this link that mega evolution is even possible since how can their be a mewtwo mega stone when mewtwo was created centuries after the kalos incident.
also based on your logic arcs containing red are old and are older then the emerald arc itself and during the ORAS arc red and blue with their megas both had trouble finishing off maxie and archie who two also had megas.
green is seen most recent with perhaps the best record as he is one of the disciples of the mega evolution teacher (whose name escapes me), can mega evolve as well (whether or not he can mega evolve his scizor as well we don't know but with it being his first pokemon it would be most fitting), and fought off X and his to be pinser with said scizor as if it were nothing.

I agree, I do not consider the Legendaries as members of their actual teams, just trainers the bonded with and trusted to battle. Like when Suicune Etc found trainers, it was only temporary to restore peace. But still, this video was not clear if it based on battling prowess or Pokemon, he just chose Emerald because he had won the tournament. I am pointing out that at that time Emerald won, but if you take into account actual battle skills and powerful Pokemon then I don't think Emerald should have been chosen as the #1 in this video. Emerald actually didn't have Pokemon at all until that arc, and they technically (if I remember correctly) had started out as other people's Pokemon (rental, Wally's, etc - might be wrong on that don't entirely remember). My main point is that just because Emerald won the tourney, that hardly makes him the best. He should have used proof from the ORAS arc, which actually had Emerald being even stronger than before (cause mega), but also the other dex holders being even stronger too. Just seemed to be a bad evaluation to me, just taking one point in time, also neglecting everything after Gen 3…
well when you think about using rental pokemon it does require a lot of skill to use such raw pokemon that you are not familiar with and for so many battles. something we see trainers like emerald and platina do very well. using rented pokemon doesn't diminish your quality as a trainer but shows how well you can work under pressure and in complex situations especially when you consider the endurance needed to take part in so many battles simultaneously.
red did a similar thing in the safari zone having to survive on his wits and pokemon that he only just caught and never adjusted to.
also platina was fine with using dia's and pearl's pokmeon for various gym battles with no issues from both the trainers and pokmeon. its actually pretty cool that until they split up they never caught any pokemon so for the first half of their journey they collectively had six pokemon total.

Yeah a lot of other Trainers had borrowed Pokemon, and Red Green and Blue have occasionally borrowed each other's Pokemon several times, Red also borrowed Misty's Gyrados before it became his Gyra (I think - it's been a while). I don't deny that Emerald is an amazing trainer, it's just that I don't think he is the strongest in all the Pokemon Worlds like this video said, and even in the Pokemon Special/Adventures universe I think he would have some fierce competition for that title, because most of the dex holders are absolutely amazing at battling. Even Yellow, the healer, can raise her Pokemons power just through her emotions and determination (which was awesome). Plus, I'm looking forward to just how amazing Sun and Moon will be - who knows, something amazing may be coming. And I hope in the B2W2 arc a certain character will make a return soon, and we can see how things are then.
