+kevin rodriguez Game Maker is easy and a nice place to start for 2d games. Unity 3d is super easy to make 3d games because you can program it in java-script. and learning how to animate uv map and model in Blender 3d is easy if you watch the awesome videos they have. all of these program has there own communitys and I find it more easy to read a pdf than watch a video when it comes to programing.
+kevin rodriguez I am just like you and i found a website called coursera , you will find courses for unity , unreal engine 4 and blender , download (unity or unreal engine 4) and blender then start taking courses on coursera but courses are not for free but they are not expensive . btw concetrat on your studying materials in high school if you want to be a game designer/developer , because once you finish high school you'll always be able to go to one of california universities where you'll learngame development as a pro , and you can start your carrer as a game designer/developer then

I did the course with TAFE, an Australian college. It wasn't a good course. There's so much info online that if someone wanted to learn how to model, they could probably learn a lot by just watching videos here on RUclips instead of going to a school.

If you're planning on playing online, of course get PS+. If you aren't, then you should check and see what the monthly free PS+ games are. If they interest you, then by all means, get PS+. I know the PS3 is giving out the Hitman Trilogy and Deadly Premonition this month.

But don't listen to us, it sounds a bit bizarre, and it is... almost as bizarre as learning to cook to become a cook. Just do what feels right. I really need advice on which college I should go to in my area. One has a computer science major with a concentration on video game design so there is more technology and the ins and outs of design and the other has an EA presence but I would major in computer science and minor in digital media arts and hopefully get an internship at EA. So I don't know which would be better.
Fushi no Ojō I strongly suggest talking to a well known Careers Advisor they will guide you through like find one online and don't just do online chat and online learning they aren't that good so yeah speak to a Careers advisor face to face and speak for a good College so yea make sure it's a well known one

Juan Basagoiti a portfolio is pretty much your resume. it has most if not all the work you have done. for instance I need to have 10 drawings to get into game design course at school. those 10 drawings will be my portfolio.
