Prince of peace was a song that burst forth from my mouth in spontaneous worship while on tour with Joel's family. I was young and tender from an attempted murder I survived and was constantly being hidden. Jesus began to reveal his voice to me while I was there and tell me of His origins on the earth. My relationship with the Holy Spirit began young, and the truth of my beginning involved me being in care of strangers, strangers that kill. I found in the Gospel my first glimpses of Jesus and he met me, not only on the shores of Galilee but long before that in a meeting where I first made my decision to believe God on the testimony of a young preacher, that Jesus could and would be my friend if I believed! Again on a dusty little camp ground as I entered into my first prayers with the wife of the stranger and gave my heart to him, admitting that I had sinned, hating my mom and dad, my brother and my life, the lying that kept me alive under an assumed identity, and those that were carrying me to this meeting away from everything and everyone that were precious to me. The song in definition was His covenant and promise to me,that is, he saw the battle that lay ahead, his eyes met mine, and He was coming in the clouds, but he would be faithful to carry me as I accepted my cross and walked the dangerous ground where Satan dwells in the heart and bodies of fallen man kind. The mind rages war and hate fills me with each step but love for him and the body of believers propelled me forward. The sorrow that fills my heart to see what has become of songs and verses sacred to Jesus and I can only be compared to the foxes in the closets. Long after they dusted me off to put a counter fit in my place, I carry the sorrow of knowing that another has stolen my crown and if possible I would gladly carry my own cross but not to mock or shock anyone, it just is what it is. My mom and dad were strangers with a secret and they drove the buses, and they set up the sound and micro phones but they are not my Mother and Father and that my friends in Christ is where the story began for me. I am the child trafficked under the shadow of the steeple, in plain sight, as the plots thicken and His pulse quickens. Jesus has made only one me and Taya is not it. The pain and the shame, the sickness and the sin only Jesus bore for me is not the same as the cross I bear for others, and this, this thing Hill Song has made it, is so far different then the journey that was the making of Prince of Peace, it is simply put, a song of the Holy Spirit and I on a journey to Heaven, no turning back. I may not be the pretty Taya in all of the photos that were done on my simple walk with Christ that made the movie or the concerts, but I am the girl that went from place to place and accepted the tasks laid before me. From hair color and changes in dress it was all part and package of obedience, but the song, the song is a gift to you Church, a song of comfort and joy, of commitment and of promise. A song because the relationship I share with God assures me of everything I have said in it, and in the presence of Father and the Holy Angels and these other believers who received no recognition while they took the time to carry me to bring me to this point on my journey, to the shores of the Lake, to the places of the prison or the temple site, the dusty roads where the wilderness met with Jesus and to your listening ears now. God in the midst.

Thank you each for helping us in the months of isolation as the Prince of Peace heard my prayers and my husband did not die in the hospital from his cancer treatment and my two daughters delivered their first babies safely. I get to meet my grandson at last and I got to hold my granddaughter two weeks ago. I know YOU are here!
