Everyone loves the idea of a sportsbike. Empty country roads, just you and your machine conquering the world. The reality in my experience though is 42mph down the A47 - all the weight on your wrists - feathering the clutch in heavy traffic - riding through villages with one hand resting on your hip so that you can get the circulation going again! This is perfect for more than just the over 40's.
"It's very comfortable. It handles extremely well. And it goes like stink!" Well said, but let's not forget, it's a Suzuki, so it will do all that and definitely not break while it's doing it. I've had one for 5 years and it's still perfect. Not even a bulb has blown.
Well I am the target guy they made this for! Literally. 750+ credit score and plenty of money for a new toy. I'm 47 now and have rode full tilt sportbikes since 1992. Finally sold my K6 GSX-R 1000 in 2011. I wanted something more comfortable since I was no longer doing top end high speed racing on the by-pass around our fair city much anymore. Tried a 2011 Yamaha RoadStar (damn thing can't corner), then a 2011 Hayabusa (what a heavy tank), then a 2002 V-Max (great fun but weak frame), then a 2007 VFR800 (no power what so ever), and then a 2011 Ninja 1000. It has been the best of both worlds really. Super comphy and corners great. The drawback? It only has like 126hp. This new bike sounds just like what I have wanted all along (although I wish they would have left the motor alone because it was perfect at 186hp). Very excited for this new bike to arrive in the states! All of us 1st generation sportbike riders still love to be bonkers, we just want to be comfortable while we are being bonkers. :-)
Picked up mine today. I can't wait to crack it wide open in the twisties. I love this bike , it just gets everything right and as he said. "Everything just works". Love this bike, it feels so damn good and is a BEAST too.
Great review and test of the GSX S1000F. I guess being older I am the kind of person this bike is aimed at. Been there, done that with sports bikes over my 50 years of riding and can't wait to pick mine up from the dealer in two days. Thanks again for a excellent and measured review.
Being a rider this is aimed at, sport tourer bikes, can say I am bewildered at all the reviews I have read which claim this bike hits the sport-touring category spot on. This is fuck all use for touring. Nok better than a sport bike to tour. Can't take pillion or luggage very well, which is the first requirement of any tourer. Z1000SX and R1200RS both understand this. Most adv bikes are bought because of their usefulness for touring. Sport-tourers can attract many of the adv riders if the bikes can take luggage and pillion. This Suzuki is only useful for touring if you are a loner with a small tailbag! I like the style of the bike but won't be getting one despite the positive reviews from guys who seem to think it is just for sport or daily commute rather than touring.
I own one and use it as a sports tourer it works great as such as long as you don't carry a pilion .hepco and Becker paniers work well with a small bag on the pillion seat i believe it to be the most underrated bike out there nothing can match it's performance at its price point and no bike at any price point will embarrass it on the best of roads
Whether you like the looks or not (i do) you cant get away from the fact this this is a stonking bike. I had one last week as a coutesy bike while my K1200R was getting serviced and didnt want to give it back lol. Its torque, power and bark are addictive and I couldnt stop hooning around on it. Compared to my K12R is like riding a 125 and I would seriously consider it as my next bike, but unfortunately the rear seat is far too small , even for a wee bit of luggage which is a shame because I think Suzuki have missed a trick here. Gonna have to ride a Z1000SX to compare now ...............
I think it looks ok not like I'm marrying it.Exhaust sounds good would of preferred fairing mirrors as i have to bend them on my current bike to access the back garden. It's tempting in red.
Great video and what a great place to ride to! Yeah you were the only person to mention there are two power bands yea after 10,000 it takes the fluck off again. I got the S1000 n am 30ish.If you think this bike is slow bring anything you got to the dragon and I’ll prove you wrong
Great review dude and that's a sharp looking intro. Love this bike have the faired version in blue. I need a cool intro for my channel. Keep up the good vids.
What put me off this bike was the complete lack of luggage. Leaving off a touring package like luggage, grab rails and an adjustable screen doesn't make it sporty. It makes it cheap and impractical. A 1000cc sporty sports tourer you can't go for a weekend away on? Give me the Z1000SX any day!
+FriendlyEllis You're not defined as their target demographics. 40+ guys ride alone most of the time. If I were to carry a passenger, I look elsewhere as this type of bike isn't much comfortable.
+daileisu I am the exact target demographic. 42 years old riding socially at weekends, mainly A and B road, solo all the time. However, perhaps 2 or 3 times a year, I go away with mates for a long weekend and for that, the panniers are a god send. I can easily pack a weekend bag, bottle of water and lock up my crash helmet during lunch stops without carrying it all about. The Suzuki is as capable a bike as the Z1000SX, but to ignore the option to take your partner away on the back is foolish, however infrequent that may be.
I heard you. But to accommodate the passenger, the rear sub-frame needs to be stiff and stronger, meaning adding more weight to the bike, as in the case of Z1000SX. I think Suzuki wanted to keep the weight down so it retains the sporty character of its ride. Luckily I have Yamaha FJR to bring my mate along when necessary. This Suzuki is perfect getaway vacation for a solo rider.
+daileisu The bike has a pillion seat and rear footrests and the subframe can take a pillion. I'm not putting your bike down mate. it's a very good bike. just think they missed a trick.
+FriendlyEllis So you'd rather turn the bike from being a comfortable sportbike to a shitty old man's tourer for the 1% of the time you have a pillion? Sounds like the Kawasaki is for you mate. I don't go into a Harley dealership and demand they turn their cruisers into crotch rockets. There is no shortage of camper bikes like the multi/s1000xr/fj09/dl1000/z1000sx/etc. Stop trying to ruin this niche for the people that get it. We only have this one bike, whilst you have plenty of options.
My thoughts exactly! A faired bike should have mirrors on its fairing, otherwise it looks like its tacked on like those crap aftermarket full fairings from the '80s. Shame as it sounds like it's a great bike. Shame about the rear seat as well, it needs a bigger and less inclined seat IMHO...
I understand the z1000sx, it's like the bike people want nowadays a do it all sportsbike for the road. but suzuki seems to have missed the mark a bit with no luggage options
its nice, its like the sucessor of a SV650, but for the price i'm young i just want to buy an used GSXR K5 or K8 , to succed from my suzuki sv 650, bike who do everything but still sporty and nice looking
That front fairing is so ugly. Head on it looks like a scooter. Shame as it's a better bike than the Ninja 1000.... doesn't matter if I can't bear to look at it. I thought maybe it could be fixed with some eyebrows or something but the whole shape is off.
im 30, I want it and Im going to use it as a daily and tourer. so Im going to put saddle bags on it and get crusie control. shame suzuki smh for not putting it on there.
Suzuki just can not seem to get it right when it comes to designing the front ends on their gix rs... my god this is but ugly .... it looks like a birds beak for god sakes, a front end simular to the now out dated SV and this bike would of been perfect .
Laughing a bit then I read your words! I have riden bikes like f4, panigale and alot other fast, wierd bikes and so on and the only bike that have made me almost crash on a straight was the suzuki sv! What a chappy and dangerous front end that bike have! Wobble killer nr 1!!
@@lukebowler3607 'Makes a difference at 1100 rpm'. It might (might) make 1 or 1.3 bhp, but neither you, nor me can tell the difference, and neither is it required. If you think you need it, and can use it on the roads, you are deluded.

Most underrated Japanese sport bike on sale. Massive value for money, huge performance, handles like it should, comfortable, love it.

I wish they made a “f” version of the gsxs750. That would be the sweet spot to me.
Literally my dream...

I am 24 and its right up my street 1000cc sport bikes are pointless on the road. This makes much more sense.
Agreed.
Jesus, people complaining about luggage, just get some throw over panniers and be done with it. You can tour on any bike if you want to. :)
I’m 32 I love the profile of the bike, just now learning about it but I just bought mine year 2018
Can’t wait to feel it out

This bike is AMAZING!!! Awesome review
Spot on review, love mine.🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️
Actually pretty unique in the sport touring market. Seems actually like a great buy for the money.
turbo311 Not really a touring bike though, doesn't take pillion or luggage very well
great review.I really think suzuki has a winner here.
Thanks for my bike's review. The same impressions.
I wish the "F" had clip ons, better looking mirror setup and some option for luggage for commuting.
Cant stand having to throw my leg around panniers. I'll take a good knapsack everytime!😊

This will be my first bike. Its destiny
we have the f. its nice because you can actually tuck on the highway and it blocks the wind well
is this Suzuki's FZ1?
Good alternative to racer here in Quebec Canada since the racer category registration here is 2200$ for about 7 month of riding..

Great review!
Non of the features mentioned of the z1000sx were preformance based... Just want to point that out.
Great review... Where's the passenger seat?
Seems like a decent bike although want i really want to know is when are we going to see an all new BUSA ? Can anyone answer this question ???
Heard roumer that this bike has 160hp instead of the official 150hp, anyone know if its true?
What is the jacket's brand and model?Anybody tell me?
I think it looks ok. maybe they did the falcon look for better aerodynamics
I would still have the ninja as it can take panniers but i still think it looks great.

Why mount the mirrors on the bars? It looks crap.

Peter Turner the whole front looks like crap
+Peter Turner Advantage: no vibration at high speed, in contrast to fairing mount.
+daileisu I've had nothing but faired bikes and I never had a vibration problem with the mirrors at any speed...
The mirrors would have to be on huge stalks to allow you to see anything.
can you please name of the badass track in the background

Whats te name of the music u used in this vid ?

future62 That was my first thought as well. Scooter looking.
future62 yeah thats right like a matic or scooter.. no muscle!!
I like the front, looks good in the red colour
GSX 🔥🔥🔥
im 30, I want it and Im going to use it as a daily and tourer. so Im going to put saddle bags on it and get crusie control. shame suzuki smh for not putting it on there.

OK should I sell my 2013 CB1000R and get this? 🤔 I am 30 + years but I like it haha
can anyone please post the name of the soundtrack plsssss.....
This bike is fricking fast

Cheers!
zippididooo Cheers!!!
I like his jacket to own more. lol
Can't you say 'GSXR'? Is it too difficult for you?
It's a grower, like it more and more, does what it says on the tin and will still go like stink ...
on a practical note, great, it'll do everything.......but boy is it ugly
MorryMoto the look grows on you, plus if i actually gave a shit how cool i look id buy a ducati or something pretty but super uncomfortable...
Show less yourself and more the bikes.....!!!
Cool video, but don't like the bike at all :-(
Absolutely pointless bike. Bring on the gsxs750f with pillion seat and panniers points
