i loved your last video on the team of teachers dealing with students. i shared that with my counselor friends to show to their schools.
If we could convince the SEL team and admin that we could easily put together a practice of doing less harm in the time it takes to host 5 or 6 professional development meetings. We would increase student satisfaction. By increasing student satisfaction, we make our place a safer place to learn. It might cost a few meetings up front but heck we could get it down to 4 meetings a year in no time. We'd be successful even if our only goal was raising the number of parents who didn't mind talking to a teacher.
i am acting as a social worker with the job of correcting behavior. i hate the task. i am not a social worker. i'm a school counselor. testing a student's behavior and reporting it drives me crazy.
This was a good video for me after this week. May I ask when you do your write ups? I’ve started waiting till planning, but several of my team members prefer to do it in the moment. I see value in both methods, but I was curious what you think.
When do you have time to write everything up about a kid? I am already drowning in stuff to do.
