Facts dude !! No offense to that last girl but it was driving crazy that she wasn’t comprehending the difference between someone being “friendly” vs “being friends”. Two completely different things, I am friendly with my coworkers but I’m not friends with them. Someone can be friendly socially without slapping the label of being friends. As Hunter said a friend is someone you can call if you have a problem or someone u can depend on and vise versa. For example just because I’m friendly with the cashier at Target doesn’t mean we’re friends. Friendliness can often be confused as wanting to be friends and/or being friends, it all comes down to social cues and understanding your relationship with that other person. Hunter won that argument hands down.

What Alexis is defining as ‘friends’ is actually ‘acquaintances’ in my opinion. Acquaintances are friendly to you and have mutuals, but you don’t really hang out with them often.

@@pneumaa they basically broke up because they first got together when they were pretty young, and growing older they realized that they want to be able to make more time for themselves and grow, - as they see themselves as both “jake and tara” but also “jake” and “tara” considering they’re their own person - explore more things/ maybe other people? that’s from what i remember, but they do have a whole video about it, so you could watch that. they did also say that if they were truly meant to be together, that they’d find each other some time in the future.

4:16 jake is so real for that because I never understood how people can see their partner sleeping with someone else as a 'mistake', cause like think about it. Let's say you go to a bar and get tipsy and you leave with someone who isn't your partner. There's multiple steps you'd have to make to cheat. You'd have to talk to them, agree to leave with them, then you have the whole way to likely either of your places to think about it. Then you get there and there's all the the steps leading up to the actual cheating. It's not just a simple 'mistake'.
yess, whereas emotionally cheating the intention to cheat is there, but the people doing it are just not committed enough to make that bigger move to cheat physically. none are better yk but i’d say physically cheating is 100% worse. as a girl i have no idea why all those girls are agreeing that emotionally cheating is worse, physically cheating is also a serious problem in nowadays relationships as well. it’s a bigger backstab and it can cause a lot of insecurities, like what looks did that person have to make them not want me or not be physical with me, instead emotionally i feel like it’s just personality wise in my eyes, and i’d rather get cheated on if my significant other likes the persons personality more than their physical appearance. like in my experience it’s never happened to me i’ve only been emotionally cheated on, but seeing my big sister go through her breakup with her boyfriend of 7 years really messed around with how i view things.. he slept with another girl and i just can’t get the fact of that out of my head and that he could even do that it’s been like 3 years since but it was horrible to know that she was backstabbed like that from someone we’ve known for years and i would never wish it on anyone.

I loved Jake and Tara together but I adore them as friends. They’re meant to be in each others life
I feel like for the last argument, it depends on the origin of the relationship. It’s not uncommon for people who grew up together (or just, people who have been friends for a whileee) to explore a romantic relationship at some point. They could decide after a few months or years of dating that they’re better off with a platonic relationship- maybe they didn’t feel the romantic spark, or they just realized that they’d drive each other crazy if they stayed together. It’d be easy to argue that those people can and should be able to maintain a friendship- it’d be ridiculous to end a 15 year friendship over a failed romantic relationship you both tried for 6 months.
I also believe that divorcees can maintain a friendship with their ex-partners- many choose not to, but it’s often possible (especially when there are children involved).
Nobody asked, but at the end of the day, I feel like exes can be friends if they highly valued the platonic aspect of their relationship while together and if the breakup was civil. One of the reasons why many exes with civilized breakups aren’t friends is because they realized they don’t mesh well, they want to avoid awkward situations, or they continued to grow and change into different, less compatible people. If those aren’t obstacles for you and you guys are still compatible platonically, then why not?
The girl who was trying to justify cheating by saying its a mistake over and over just bothered me. Cheating isnt a mistake, its a choice! You dont go “uh oh omg I slipped into this girl by accident!”

I 100% agree with Hunter on the term of friends. Alexxis was describing acquaintances, those people you rarely see and have small talk with. Friends are people you would go out of your way to help, hang with, invite out or make plans with, catch up on life, check on, and have basically grown fond of each other to have a meaningful friendship. The term friend should not be used easily otherwise everyone would be considered friends when in reality that’s not the case.

Last one: There’s a difference between friends and mutuals. Friends you do stuff with, you’d do stuff for or you’d invite them to your house for the day regularly. A mutual is just someone you see and say hey I know them, we’re friendly to each other, if I happen to do an activity with them I’d enjoy it.

2 things.
1.) The reason physical cheating is such a blow on many of us, even moreso than emotional cheating, is because of what your cheating partner is giving the other person. The chemistry, the warmth, the intimacy, the admiration. They pretend to dedicate that to us... and then they turn around and use it to 'fuel the tank' of another person while pushing a faux narrative that we're the only one they give such attention and love to. That is such a massive blow to how sacred we believe our relationship with them is. A lot of people can't really put that heartbreak into words, though, so I'm sure many of you can relate to that.
2.) I feel like Jake Webber is the most genuine person out of everyone in these videos. Absolutely love this dude's energy. I also have autism, which explains why I think he and I could be great friends if I was even anywhere near his social circle. 😂
Also, green Reebok chick was pissing me off with the 'people make mistakes' perspective. Trust me... even if they naturally fell in love with someone else... they know what they're doing. It's CHEATING, stop trying to justify it.

initially i thought it would be better to be cheated on physically, but i think it would be less painfull for me to be cheated on emotionally. cause if they cheat on my emotionally like that's not my fault they met someone who makes them happier. shows so much more of their character and honestly would give me more of a clean break. but if my partner cheated physically i'm already very insecure i think i would spiral into like a self hatred, what did i do wrong, and at the end of the day i would probably take that person back so it would be so much messier and would be so much more trouble in the long run
